The arrest follows a deadly stabbing on april 2nd inside the Safeway Store on bancroft avenue in san leandros, broadmoor district. Investigators say the teen stabbed and killed 18 year old zion goodin after goodin got into a heated argument with the alleged attackers friend. Police say the arrest comes after investigators talked to witnesses and reviewed surveillance video. Youre able to piece together what transpired during the altercation that led to the stabbing and homicide, and we were able to from surveillance footage, eventually able to piece together the identity of the suspect. San Leandro Police say they arrested the 13 year old last week at his middle school in a neighboring city. Hes now being held at Alameda County juvenile hall, facing one count of murder. A tire company in san rafael is facing a lawsuit from people in a nearby homeless encampment over allegations that tire shop has been playing loud music all night. A lawsuit was filed in Marin County Court yesterday. People living at the encampment outside east Bay Tire Company say for the past few days, loud music starts playing at sundown. They say they think its a move to get them to leave the encampment, and its so loud. I mean, so loud. Blaringly it it it it makes your ears bleed. You cant. You cant hear yourself think. These Insurance Companies have utilized a Software Application that allows them essentially to defraud homeowners by charging them premiums for insurance that does not adequately insure, the, provide inaccurate and low replacement costs for insured homes. Farmers in midcentury have not yet commented on this lawsuit. Caltrans has approved 105 million for the first phase of the yolo 80 corridor improvements project. It includes adding a high occupancy toll lane in each direction between West Sacramento and davis. Some drivers in the area say they like the idea of increasing traffic flow and reducing congestion, but charging to use the new lanes, they say, is unfair. I feel like everybody pays for it right . Well, today, the Biden Administration announced its releasing 1 Million Barrels of gasoline from a northeast reserve established after Superstorm Sandy in a bid to lower prices at the pump. This summer, the sail from storage sites in new jersey and maine will be allocated in increments of 100,000 barrels at a time. The approach will create a Competitive Bidding process that ensures gasoline can flow into local retailers ahead of the july 4th holiday, and sold at competitive prices. Meantime, state regulators are working to reassure drivers that gas prices wont spike under a new climate plan later this year. The California Air Resources Board plans to update its fuel standards and require the oil industry to reduce emissions. Many say the cost of these changes could be passed on to the customers. One year ago, a staff report from the air Resources Board suggested prices could increase 0. 47 a gallon by 2025 and up to 0. 52 a gallon by 2026. Since september, the number of ambulances has increased from 54 to 72 per day. But Officials Say theyve received 240 calls for an ambulance this year alone. More than two thirds of them needed serious advanced medical attention, and paramedics are hard to hire and keep. We are putting up to a dozen firefighter emts through paramedic school, and then our subcontractor, amr, is also putting many of their emts who want to become paramedics through this paramedic school. Hospitals are overburdened and understaffed with hospital wait times for ambulances up to an hour at places like contra costa regional and john muir, walnut creek. We have seen some success with sutter delta in antioch, who has reduced their ambulance patient offload time in the last 12 months by a full 50, fire chief louis brochard says this is a system wide issue happening across the state. But in contra costa county, hes working on implementing a program called Nurse Navigation, where 911 callers who dont need an emergency transport can set up a doctors appointment. The whole point is to try and take demand down so that not everything is a 911 emergency. Not everything requires a paramedic transport to the hospital.
