Cool for us. Unseasonably cool here. And temperatures yesterday were in the 60s. I dont really see much change here today. Were starting off mostly cloudy. We dont have the coverage on the fog bank, but its a combination of low clouds and some higher clouds. A little bit of activity on the lee side of this year. And you can see the cloud cover coming up. So another day of unseasonably cool temps here, 60s. And thats it. Maybe for a while. All right over to sal now. And quiet or something on your screens. There was a little roadwork steve you know that you see it on the way in. But for the most part, we have a nice quiet commute. We dont have anything major. Lets go right to the bay bridge toll plaza. Yeah, theyre looking for answers, but say theyre just not getting any. Ktvu is. Amber lee met with the girls family. We are asking for people to, if they see seen anything. You know, we put out everywhere the family of jasmine pellegrini of bay point is in San Franciscos ingleside neighborhood, where she was found dead. The 15 year olds mother and stepfather, marta and sandra baroni, grieve at the site where the 15 year old was found lying face down in the driveway of a home on lobo street saturday morning around 1130, the spot, now marked with a flower and a flier from the family. We definitely need some help from somewhere, anywhere, the couple says. They last saw jasmine 1130 wednesday night at their family home, and that she left with no phone or money. Jasmine had been released from a Psychiatric Hospital three hours earlier. The family says the teen had been struggling for years with ptsd, bipolar disorder and anxiety after coping with sexual abuse she suffered as a child. Mom was distraught when she tried to speak about her daughter. I dont think i dont think she can speak anything right now. Jasmines parents say she was hospitalized dozens of times in recent years. They say they reported her missing the night she disappeared. But less than three days later, she was found dead in San Francisco, a city that the family says was unfamiliar to her. A leg, leg, leg. Jasmine spoke hungarian, telling her mom she loved her in a message the family says she recorded last year, the teen and her family immigrated to the United States in 2019. They say she loved animals, drawing and baking. Relatives put up a small decorated cross at a park near the spot where jasmine was found. They say they have no idea how she died, but are concerned that someone may have lured her to the city and that she may have been drugged. How can we call . We want. We want answers. We want to know who was with her. We want to know how did she get to San Francisco . San Francisco Police tell me. There are no signs of foul play so far, but they are treating this case as a death investigation, and theyre waiting for the autopsy results. The family tells me the medical Examiners Office says it could take up to 90 days for them to determine the cause of death. They say they will do everything they can to find out what happened. Still breezy at times, but a lot of high clouds streaming in, so a mix of some low clouds. Although the support for the low clouds has waned considerably since. Its so much cooler, but the upper low is in place and its going to continue to advance towards Southern California, and you can see the moisture coming around it here could easily start to work its way in here. Then another system will drop down in here on friday. 50s on the temps on the mild side. I mean cool to mild here, but temperatures a few 40s. Yeah, we call it fog, but its not on the ground or anything. But a lot of high clouds are streaming in up above that. And thatll give us a mostly cloudy day. The upper low, though, could easily swing in a lot of cloud cover here, and that its mainly heading towards central and Southern California. But it really lit up some areas in the northern Sacramento Valley and on the lee side of the sierra. Yesterday, an extremely cool pattern here for us for the rest of the week. 50s though on the temps. So were on the mild side thats for sure. Even east bay temps all 50s here. Crowds of people that are there selling, selling stolen property, selling narcotics. We have drug users all over. The reason why we wanted to stay open is because, you know, we have to make more money to pay rent, to pay, bills like pg and e, you know, phone bills, internet bills. And we have employees. The nonprofit did not say what might be causing stress to the pelicans, but they did say similar rescues were made in may of 2022. Im sure well have more on that. I know we will. All right. First, lets get to Steve Paulson and our weather forecast. All right. We have a lot of cloud cover over us. Low and high clouds. The lows are really mild though. Upper 50s for some here because of the cloud cover. And also a little south breeze. That could be a little drizzle tomorrow. More cloud cover. The main day will be friday and thats when we could get some light rain in here. Just want to draw your attention to the mountains. Look at that. I mean redding, north northeast california, susanville and tahoe truckee. So if youre heading anywhere, one of those directions or even north coast, i would keep an eye on things. Looks like a decent opportunity for some rain here. Mount diablo, believe it or not, 38 degrees. Thats thats unusual for this time of year that that has wiped out the inversion. Thus, the low cloud deck is more broken or scattered versus yesterday when it was large and in charge, as we said, a little bit of activity on the east side of the sierra. There will be popping up more activity for us here, but that low is on its way. The flow around that is drawing in some cloud cover. So thats on its way here. For some of us today. And the temperature trend though is on a cool pattern, no doubt about it. Here for probably into friday does look like a little rebound on the weekend though. 50s on the temps i mean mid 50s, not as cool as it was. So the cloud cover even on the peninsula, usually one of the cooler locations, woodsides 5355 is popular. Montara beach pillar point, half moon bay, san carlos, atherton as well. So everyones pretty close here. I use the thermal. Thats what we call it. More activity will pop up again. Northern mountains, northeast california and over tahoe 32 both truckee South Lake Tahoe. The low will be with us today and tomorrow. Then another system will sweep in from the north. Thats the one that could give us not only a lot of cloud cover, but maybe some splash and dash activity on the rain. Lots of clouds, mild to cool today, cloudy, maybe a few showers, more likely over the higher terrain, but its something to watch for friday. Mostly cloudy. A lot of clouds here. Low clouds, high clouds. Combination of the two give us 60s to near 70 on the temps. A teenage girl was found dead in San Francisco. Experts say more witnesses will testify as well, but its not clear right now if donald trump himself will be one of them. Probably the best day will be if you will we on friday, when it looks like another system drops in that could put us in the window. We get a lot of high and mid level clouds coming up and because of a south breeze were on the mild side. A lot of 50s here, 30s up in the mountains, 40s, 50s, 60s Southern California. We want to know what happened to her . The 15 year olds mother and stepfather, marta and sandra baroni, grieve at the site where the 15 year old was found lying face down in the driveway of a home on lobo street saturday morning around 1130, the spot now marked with a flower and a flier from the family. They said the likelihood of him surviving was very slim, but between the doctors and nurses, they just they kept them alive. The most important part of being a cop by far is talking to people. I think that was probably his biggest accomplishment was, you know, was just he was a people person, you know, he just loved people. The wingate came from a Law Enforcement family. His father is a retired Oakland Police captain. His godfather was an Oakland Police detective who died on duty in 2001, killed by friendly fire. Mayor london breed in San Francisco introduced a new resolution to clear the way for the San Francisco zoo to hold fundraisers to help meet the needs of the giant pandas that are coming from china. The mayor shared this video showing a panda enclosure at the shanghai wildlife park while she was recently in china. The new resolution would allow the San Francisco zoo to raise funds for a similar enclosure here without depending on taxpayer dollars. The legislation is required because city officials are banned from soliciting funds from philanthropists and private parties for charitable and governmental purposes. Still, not clear exactly how much money is needed to build that enclosure for. Well, today, if you happen to be in Santa Cruz County near big basin redwoods state park, you may see some smoke in the area. Starting at 8 a. M, a prescribed burn begins in the northern part of the park, near where the icu complex fire burned three years ago. Roads and trails will not be closed, but officials with the california state park says the plans for the burn depends on the weather. Today, that burn is expected to continue through next week. Its the time of year when they start doing a little bit of that mitigation. Before we get into fire season. The hills are still green and hopefully not windy today. Steve. Well, thats the key. I dont think itll be as bad as yesterday, but friday is going to be windy, so they might want to get that window taken care of here today and tomorrow, because it does look like the wind picks up friday into friday night. Mostly cloudy. There will be a little bit of a breeze today. I dont think as much as yesterday. Its on the mild side. Lows are in the mid 50s upper 50s and we do get a combo of low and high clouds. Probably more of the same tomorrow, friday is kind of the main day. You know about what, ten days ago we set around the 27th . Well, it looks like its coming in around the 2627, so i think were in line for that. But it might be more of a wind producer for us, but some activity look at over the mountains though. I mean this will be lit up for this time of year as we head up to northern Sacramento Valley, maybe up to del norte, humboldt county, and also tahoe and druggy. You know, were going up there. Itll be nice and sunny on friday. No it wont it doesnt look that way. The upper low right there is beginning to make its move towards mainly central and Southern California. But cloud cover coming around that is moving over us. So we have low clouds and a high clouds. Mostly cloudy conditions, mainly 50s. On the temps you can see 51 Boulder Creek, 54 hollister. Same for morgan hill, san martin, mid 50 campbell, san jose, saratoga, cupertino, socal, aptos, santa cruz. Everyones close. Talk about yesterday afternoon. Its more of the same today. You get these afternoon thunderstorms erupting, especially northern Sacramento Valley, northeast california, and also along the crest of the sierra. A lot of high clouds streaming over us. That will give us kind of a mild pattern. I think today, along with the south wind, 30s in the mountains, 50s, 40s up and down the coast until you hit san diego. The upper lows with us. And then a front is on the way for friday. Thats going to be the kind of the key here. So friday cool to mild on the temps here. Low clouds high clouds. But i think well get some upper 60s to near 70 with that south wind. But a system moves into the north. Cold front sweeps through cloudy windy and maybe some light rain, more likely over the hills, but something to watch on friday. Low and high clouds today. Temperatures if you can get a few sun breaks, might even be a little bit of a tropical feel, especially in the santa clara valley. So 60s 70s on the temps friday will be the day clouds windy. Then itll still be breezy on saturday, but it does look better on the weekend. Okay. Sounds good. Thank you. Steve, a worker at a local donut shop in San Francisco fighting for his life. Coming up, what we know about what happened and the search for the hit and run driver responsible. And thousands of bay area tesla employees will soon be laid off and will lose their jobs. Last week, tesla announced it was laying off more than 10 of its 140,000 employees, Financial Experts say. Tesla also recently cut prices by 2,000 in order to increase sales. I do believe that there is the possibility that well see more layoffs because musk has announced that he wants to launch hot and heavy into, more Automated Production robotic factories, and, probably a lot of ai in that as well. Now, layoffs are expected to begin in june, but Tesla Ceo Elon musk still has some grand plans for tesla. He wants to produce more Affordable Electric cars, beginning next year. It is 516. Oracle once again is moving the companys headquarters. Oracle Ceo Larry Ellison announced plans to move the headquarters from austin, texas, to nashville, tennessee. Family members say they want the federal government to put an independent monitor in place to oversee boeing. Boeing will pay 425 million to one of its main suppliers to address some of the issues at the company, Spirit Aerosystems says the money will help address problems including high inventory and low cash flows. Spirit builds many of the fuselage for boeing 737 jets, and is a key part of the investigation into boeings quality issues. Boeing is also in talks to buy spirit, a first of its kind bill has passed the Senate Transportation committee. Yeah, this new law would address the concerns about expedited airport Screening Services that let travelers pay to cut through those tsa lines. Now, the committee passed the bill in an 8 to 4 vote. It would require Fast Track Services like clear to pay for its own tsa staffed lanes at airport security. Now, if the identity Screening Companies dont comply, theyll be banned from the state. Theres been lots of incidents over the last couple of years where, you know, were unauthorized travelers who use clear as a way of breaching tsa security. Now, supporters of clear say the service creates hundreds of jobs. It serves more than a million americans and shares more than 13 million in annual revenue with airport partners. Now, this bill moves forward to the Senate Appropriations committee. I will say the last time i flew out of oakland airport, steve, the tsa pre and clear line was longer than the regular line, really, because so many people have it. I was like, oh, okay, ive seen both. Ive seen nobody in clear. And then other times it just depends on what youre i guess your flight. Right. Exactly. Your tsa pre right. No youre not. Oh im not. Oh pamela come on im not i know i just havent done it. One of the best investments ever made. All right. So we get to it here yesterday i mean for us this is what is this august. September. Look at all that thunderstorm activity. Northern Mendocino County along i5. Theyre up in the northern Sacramento Valley. Shasta, lassen, northeast california, quincy, susanville, chester and then over the sierra as well. Thats pretty impressive. More of the same expected today and then even more so i think on friday were getting a lot of high clouds and midlevel clouds coming up. Theres a low clouds below that 49 arcadia to 60, in san diego, flagstaff 32. Viva las vegas at 66. By the way, that was on the other day. Viva las vegas, elvis, annmargret and elvis classic. Yep, his highest grossing film. I think it was, 30s on the temps, truckee, South Lake Tahoe and the cloud cover associated with that low is mainly tracking south of us, but its close enough. Were going to see a cold front come through on friday, and thats going to pick up the wind, so a lot going on here for this time of year, 60s to near 70 today. Low and high clouds, mild conditions with that south wind. Cloudy, windy and a possibility of some rain for us. More likely. I think the wind will be the bigger story, but take a look here over the mountains. Now theres going to be some pretty good activity. Northern look at redding to almost a quarter of an inch. Crescent city with an inch, i mean. So if youre going north northeast, northern Sacramento Valley maybe, or tahoe, theres going to be some activity here in the next 48, 72 hours for sure. A lot of low and high clouds, mild temps, especially santa clara valley. I think with that south wind you get near 7060s for most though. I mean, were still running below average on the temps after friday into saturday. The wind will take a little bit of a respite there and temps look to be a little bit warmer. Dave. This is mornings on two. Good morning. Thank you for waking up with us here on morning sun two. Im pam cook and good morning im dave clark. Its wednesday. Its april 24th. You brought us to the middle of the week again pam. Thank you. Half the week is gone. Thats true. Yeah. All right. And it seems like a cooler day for most of us. All of us, i guess. Pretty for us. Yes. Might be on the mild side if youre, you know, get a sun break or two because theres a lot of moisture in the air. So the humidity factor would be higher. But 50s to start under cloudy skies here everyone says cloudy. Not only low clouds, but theres higher clouds coming up. A lot of activity will be over the mountains. Northern Sacramento Valley again, just a cloud away. And what were looking at is a lot of cloud cover, mild lows really mainly 50s, upper 50s for a few mostly cloudy today i went mild cool to mild. Here. Was 60s on the temps to a few 70s. All right. Sal is here and hopefully your commute will be happy today. I think youll be happy with it. Steve. Right now, if youre a bay bridge driver, i think youre going to be very happy, westbound. So far, weve weve been looking at the bridge. There was something that this a triple a Traffic Camera. There was something i was trying to find on the bridge. We thought there might have been an accident. We looked at the entire bridge. We couldnt find anything. And that is a beautiful thing. Of course. Lets go out and take a look at some of the other commutes via our triple a Traffic Cameras. You can see interstate 880 is moving along very nicely and no major problems as you drive past the airport. Now stay with me for one more here. This is the san mateo bridge. That traffic looks good heading out to the high rise. 531 lets get back to the headlines. Okay, sal. Thank you. Well, later today, President Biden is expected to sign a huge foreign aid bill into law. And part of that bill includes a possible ban of tiktok. Ktvu allie rasmus is here now to tell us about the deadline tiktok could face. Good morning alex. Good morning dave. Yes, that deadline one year once President Biden signs this foreign aid bill into law and the white house says he is expected to sign it sometime today, it would give bytedance, which is the Parent Company of tiktok, one year to sell tiktok to a nonchinese company. And if it doesnt, tiktok would no longer be accessible to update or download on us phones. Its a move thats been discussed and has had bipartisan support for months, even years. Democrats and republicans in both the house and Senate Approved of this idea. And last night, the Senate Finally approved this bill as part of a larger foreign aid package to israel, ukraine and taiwan. While this bill is not a ban, its about a divestment. And its not really about tiktok. Its about bytedance, the company that owns tiktok and is indisputably controlled by the Chinese Communist party. The main thing i feel is, is conflict. I feel conflicted because on one hand, ive built a brand on there. My companys able to work with a lot of big brands on there to help them get their message out. It really is a way to get messaging out that can be positive, but ultimately it needs to be sold to an american company, i think, so that we can at least have some regulation on it. Regulation and National Security are some of the reasons both democrats and republican lawmakers say they support this bill. That would force tiktok to be either sold or ceased to exist in the us, they say concerns about the companys ties to the Chinese Government, and whether that Foreign Government could then have too much influence over american users. And conversely, its the very same thing the Chinese Government is worried about us social media Companies Like facebook, instagram and x are not allowed to be used by chinese users. The mayor, london breed, wants to force stores that sell prepackaged foods or tobacco to close between midnight and 5 a. M. If her proposal is approved, the police would warn the businesses about the change. Violators would then be fined up to 1,000 by the Health Department if they stay open. Our challenge is still occur at night. Crowds of people that are there selling, selling stolen property, selling narcotics. We have drug users all over. The reason why we wanted to stay open is because, you know, we have to make more money to pay rent to pay, bills like pg and e, you know, phone bills, internet bills. And we have employees. I have like four employees at nighttime when i have extra security because, you know, of the area. Now, San Francisco mayor london breed issued a statement. It reads in part, this is an idea for the community, from the community. The drug markets happening at night in this neighborhood are unacceptable and must be met with increased Law Enforcement and new strategies. Now San Francisco also celebrating what its called. I love tenderloin week. Mayor breed and other Community Members explored that neighborhood and making stops at the tenderloin museum, the phoenix hotel, and other notable locations. Before the business crawl began, the mayor highlighted the importance of looking to this neighborhood with a positive attitude. So far, three of the four eggs have hatched. The fourth is due any day now. Take a look at the little chicks. They are the offspring of annie, who has lived on top of the campanile tower at the cal campus since 2016. Todays hatch day gathering will be held at the Berkeley Art Museum and pacific film archive, right near the entrance to the campus in Downtown Berkeley. Always fun to keep an eye on one of those. Pam, you want to. You want a Peregrine Falcon . I think i do. I dont know where id keep it. Okay. All right. Steve paulson i think itll be a little chilly if youre heading over to hatch day. Right bring a sweater to berkeley. Yeah, unless we get it. Yeah, its going to be below average. Maybe on the mild side, if we get any sun breaks, theres a lot of moisture coming up from the south. So that would that would help wind speeds have come down. It was really though quite the show yesterday. Northern Mendocino County northward, northern Sacramento Valley, shasta, lassen, northeast california and also along the parts of the sierra, probably more of the same today. They bubble up during the afternoon heating and then die down at night. We get a lot of high clouds coming over us. So i think with any sun breaks here, it would be more of a kind of maybe a muggy, tropical feel, especially santa clara valley, 30s up in the mountains. Redding, 61, arcata 4949. Santa barbara 62, in palm springs, san diego on the mild side at 60, the upper low is really kind of taking aim more towards Southern California, but some of that moisture continues to rotate around it and moves in. So we have low clouds and high clouds and thats giving us a mostly cloudy day, cool to mild here, 6070 on the temps, but a system sweeping into the north on friday a cold front will go through cloudy, maybe some light rain, more likely over the higher terrain or north and east again, but the wind looks like it could be a factor on friday. I think a wind advisory has already been posted. Ill have to double check, but take a look over the mountains. South lake tahoe, truckee a quarter of an inch third of an inch. Susanville quarter of an inch. Redding almost a quarter. Look at eureka three quarters. So travel plans in those areas keep an eye on things that would be on friday, late thursday, friday, low and high clouds, kind of muggy, mild conditions. If you can get a few sun breaks here, but mainly 60s. Were still below average on the tenths, but if you hit 70 and get a sun break, youll notice it, more of the same. On thursday, well cloud it up. The wind cranks up friday and into friday night, maybe early saturday, but the weekend does look better. Todays game starts at 405. All right, its 549. And sal stars right now talking about our morning commute on a wednesday. Hows it look out there, sal . Yeah. You know, it looks okay. The bay bridge, though, has all of a sudden gone from a, not big commute. Let me let me just put it up here. Im trying to struggle for words. Why dont you just look for yourself, triple a Traffic Camera showing us the traffic backed up to the middle of the parking lot, and the metering lights are on. Weather is not an issue for the commute. It looks pretty good on 880 in oakland and on the san mateo bridge. So were off to a nice start, but things are beginning to get just a little bit more crowded, which is something we expect. Heres a man whos always on point. Hes always happy. Its mr. Steve paulson. Thank you sir, appreciate that. All right. Sal is correct. Theres no weather issues out there, but theres a lot of cloud cover. So its a combo of low and high clouds. Yesterday boy, talk about a show. Mother nature put on a heck of a show and northern Mendocino CountySacramento Valley up to shasta last northeast california and along about reno north along the crest of the sierra. Probably more of the same today we are getting the higher clouds coming in the rotating around the upper low off the coast, which is mainly heading towards Southern California, but were getting some of that cloud cover 30s in the mountains 49 arcata, 49 santa barbara. But 5760 la to san diego and 5060s in the valley, mainly 50s. You can see the upper low again. Its heading more towards la and san diego more than us, but we get some of that cloud cover cool to mild. If we can get some sun breaks. I would think with the amount of moisture in the air, humidity is high. We would get kind of maybe a tropical feel muggy feel that would be south and east, i would think more so, but temps either way you look at it, are going to be on the cool to mild side below average today. Cloudy and the wind will crank up maybe some light rain on friday. System a cold front that will be different from that low in Southern California. That ones coming down from the north. So if youre heading out, i mean eureka, redding, susanville, truckee, South Lake Tahoe, thats more than just a little bit. So keep that in mind. That will be it should be gone by late friday early saturday. Low and high clouds for us. Cool to mild on the temps here. We get a south breeze 60s to near 70. A lot of cloud cover next couple of days. The wind cranks up friday. Still breezy saturday but improving conditions on the weekend. Go right over to Steve Paulson for a look at our forecast. It sounds like people should grab a jacket or coat out the door, at least in the morning, although its on the mild side but cool to mild. Will stay below average. But theres a lot of cloud cover rolling over us. Low high clouds and with any sun breaks, maybe on the muggy side here, especially santa clara valley. I mean, it wouldnt take much. Were sitting in the mid 50s here for some even upper 50s under cloudy to mostly cloudy skies, that moisture coming up from the south, thats adding a little different. A little humidity to the factor, but just a cloud away here. Lots of clouds, mild lows with a south breeze. So cloudy to mostly cloudy. Also, we look at the south bay just traffic is moving along very well. Lets take a look at the triplea Traffic Cameras here. The bay bridge is getting filled in that is backed up all the way out. What about todays weather yesterday, steve at, got my attention how cold it got compared to the weekend, no doubt about it. That was a big drop, wasnt it, sal . I mean, we went from the 80s to the upper 60s for inland areas. Were on the mild side, though. 55, 56, 57. Thats because we have a lot of cloud cover and also a little bit of a southerly breeze. You can see the cloud cover, but coming over us now from the south. Look at all the thunderstorm activity though. Mendocino county, northern Mendocino County, northern Sacramento Valley, shasta last northeast california and along parts of the sierra from about reno, truckee north. You can see the higher clouds over so if you can break through the low cloud deck, i think you could be on the muggy side here. 30 bookends truckee, South Lake Tahoe, 40s, 50s. Up and down the coast. The upper low is mainly taking aim at los angeles, but it is spinning in a lot of high and midlevel clouds. So cool to mild. I think if you can get a sun break you might notice it might be a little tropical feel there with that higher humidity 6070. The big news though, is going to be friday. The wind is going to crank up here as the system of the south gets pushed inland. But the one from the north will sweep through. So if youre heading out, watch out. I mean, theres going to be some pretty good activity. Northern california, northern Sacramento Valley and also up in the sierra for today. Low and high clouds, mild temps, temperatures though well below average here, but i think with a few sun breaks could get a few near 70. All right. Wow. Thank you steve. We are doing our part where its appropriate that they are entitled to diversion. Price discussed her vision for Public Safety during a virtual town hall. She said she ran on a progressive platform of reducing sentences for younger offenders, eliminating most sentencing enhancement and holding Law Enforcement more accountable. Price rejects criticism that shes soft on crime. Were prosecuting people at the same level as my predecessor, and so this sense that people arent being held accountable, i think is more driven, by the slant of the way things are being portrayed in the media and presented often, sometimes on social media. There are enough signatures for a recall election. The Alameda County board of supervisors has until tuesday to schedule an election date. Now, her critics, who formed the group save alameda for everyone, held a rally in oakland outside the county administration building. I wanted to get in here to offer you a quick little thing that i found out about the san mateo bridge. There is a stalled car that was just reported. Now the traffic is not slow yet and it may never get slow. Hopefully theyll get it out of the way, but if that is your commute, wed like you to get out there soon. Sooner rather than later. Just to avoid any possible long delays. Yesterday we had a long delay on the san mateo bridge for the same reason it wasnt a crash, but once theres a stall on this bridge, it usually gets, you know, it gets pretty slow. So if you want to avoid the san mateo bridge, 880 doesnt look too bad. You can see for a Traffic Camera here that traffic is moving along very well. And at the bay bridge we have a very typical delay that is backed up for about a 10 to 15 minute wait. No trouble on the bridge itself. As you get into San Francisco right now. 626 lets go back to the desk. Thank you. Sal, a local man fighting for his life after being hit by a car while riding his scooter to work. Were going to hear from coworkers who are now stepping up to help his family as the search for the person behind the wheel intensifies and a call to have pg and e put its power lines underground in berkeley, the areas the city warns are facing the highest fire danger he. Tesla stock set to jump about 11 as that bell rings after announcing plans to ramp up production of lower cost evs. That stocks down about 40 on the year, as tesla has faced increased competition in the electric car market around the world, in particular, china has a much cheaper ev selection, so some cheaper teslas coming coming our way soon. Okay, well get to all your numbers. Thank you for joining us here on morning sun two im pam cook and good morning im dave clark. Its wednesday the middle of the week. Its april 24th. Yep. And its cooler today. Lets check in with Steve Paulson for our forecast. A lot of cloud cover, low clouds, some drizzle, parts of marin county as well. 50s on the temps. If you can break through the other side so to speak, on the cloud cover, you might get in the maybe near 70, but were starting off with mid 50s and upper 50s. Im just moving right along. Theres a lot of high clouds up above. Thunderstorms will fire up again over the mountains, just a cloud away. But theres a lot of clouds here. Some morning drizzle, mild to cool lows, a little bit of a southerly breeze. Again if you can get some sun breaks with higher humidity. Pushing upper 60s to near 70 might give a tropical feel, but i kept 60s in the forecast. All right, sals here. Sometimes when you take off on the morning commute, i say a little prayer. Or is it okay out there or not . I would say so. You know what . Right now, it is going to be okay on some of these commutes. Predictable. Steve and thats what it is. Lets go out and take a look at the bay bridge toll plaza from our triple a Traffic Camera. You can see the traffic is moving along okay. If you are driving here, its a typical there have been no major problems here. If you are driving on 680, youll be happy heading down toward the fremont area. Theres not a big backup yet. That san mateo bridge stall looks like it may have cleared out at first. There was some slow traffic, but now that san mateo bridge looks good, so we may have gotten lucky here with that stall being moved before it got to be a real big problem. 632 lets go back to the desk. Thank you sal. Well, a lot of people will be upset. Tiktok users in the us may have to find another place to scroll and post next year. Yeah. Last night Congress Passed a huge bill. It includes a possible ban on tiktok, and President Biden is expected to sign it. Ktvu allie rasmus is here now to explain what it all means and why lawmakers are doing this. Good morning allie. Good morning dave and pam. Well, 170 million americans have accounts on tiktok, making it one of the most popular social media apps in the us. And while tiktoks Parent Company bytedance has satellite offices all over the country, including here in san jose, bytedance is headquartered in beijing, china, and according to us policymakers and lawmakers and National Security experts, the company has very close ties to the Chinese Government, and thats why they are concerned. Theyre worried that Foreign Government will have too much influence over tiktoks millions of us users. Last night, the Senate Approved a bill bipartisan support that would give bytedance, the Parent Company of tiktok, one year to sell the app to a nonchinese company. If it doesnt, tiktok would no longer be accessible to update or to download on us phones after that year. It really is a way to get messaging out that can be positive, but ultimately it needs to be sold to an american company, i think so that we can at least have some regulation on it. Now, this tiktok ban idea was tucked into and passed as part of a larger bill that passed last night to give foreign aid to ukraine. Israel and taiwan. The one year deadline would go into effect as soon as President Biden signs the bill, and the white house says he is expected to sign it today. Now in response, tiktok hasnt yet made any official statements, but an internal memo to bytedance employees was leaked earlier this week and first reported by the tech and business site the information. And it says that the company does plan to challenge this bill if it becomes law in court on the grounds that its a violation of the first amendment. Live in san jose allie rasmus, ktvu, fox two news. All right. Thank you, ali. Well, that same foreign aid package included billions of dollars in war in aid for ukraine and israel. Now, the Senate Overwhelmingly passed the bill days after the house passed it as well. The bill provides 61 billion for ukraine, 26 billion for israel and 8 billion for taiwan to counter threats from china. The aid for ukraine comes at a time the country says it desperately needs new weapons to hold off attacks from russia. Every day you can say you made the world truly a better place, but i think the senate can say that tonight. Now, President Biden told ukraines president the new air defense weapons will be on its way as soon as the legislation is passed. The president is likely to sign that bill later today. Time is now 6. 35. Here at home, a group called save west portal is fighting transit improvement plans in that neighborhood. The proposed plan calls for banning left turns on busy west portal avenue. The San Francisco board of supervisors is expected to vote by june on the proposed curfew in the tenderloin. The mayor, london breed, wants to force stores that sell prepackaged foods or tobacco to close between midnight and 5 a. M. If her proposal is approved. The police would warn the businesses about the change by elevators, would then be fined up to 1,000 by the Health Department if they stay open. Our challenge is still occur at night. Crowds of people that are there selling, selling stolen property, selling narcotics. We have drug users all over. The reason why we wanted to stay open is because, you know, we have to make more money to pay rent, to pay, bills like pga , you know, phone bills, internet bills. And we have employees. I have like four employees at nighttime when i have extra security because, you know, of the area. Now, mayor london breed issued a statement. It reads in part, this is an idea for the community from the community. The drug markets happening at night in this neighborhood are unacceptable and must be met with increased Law Enforcement and new strategies. At 638, were going to start with highway four, but the east bay commute in general is beginning to get more crowded. Lets start with four, and you can see westbound traffic is going to be a little bit busy as you drive out of antioch, but eastbound traffic getting into antioch is slow. Thats unexpected. So were going to see what happened there and try and get back to you. Hopefully it will just be a momentary thing. 680 i think youre going to like that. It looks pretty good. No problems on that san mateo bridge. We got lucky that stall didnt really affect things too much. They got it out of the way. This is a look at interstate 880 in oakland. And you can see at the bay bridge toll plaza. It is backed up for the typical delay. So thats just the way things go here. And you could say the bay bridge commute is on again. Its on again, steve. 639 well, tuesday, wednesday thursday usually is right. Yes, sir. Okay. Well thank you, sir, i appreciate that, mild conditions, cool to mild here. A little bit of drizzle falling out there, but mainly its a lot of cloud cover, low and high. So 50s on the temps here a few 55 5657 thunderstorm. I look at that. Just went crazy bonkers. Northern california, redding, north northeast california. Then about reno, northward along the crest of the sierra. A lot of high clouds. Theres tons of low clouds underneath that. So big fog bank again. The upper low, though spinning in the cloud cover is really on its way to los angeles, but cool to mild. I say mild because if you can get any breaks in the cloud cover with the higher humidity in the south breeze, you could pop up into that tropical feel here. More likely, id say san jose south or east as well, but the big news will be on friday. Cold fronts actually coming through. We talked about this about ten days ago, set around the 27th. Well, i think its coming in the 26th. And if we get any rain, that would be our best bet. Looks for sure though, say Mendocino County, northern Sacramento Valley, susanville, truckee, South Lake Tahoe. So keep that in mind for friday. Win, though might be the bigger factor for us. Lots of clouds, mild temps, some morning drizzle under that low cloud deck there. 60s to near 70 on the temps, and the good news after friday itll still be nicer on the weekend. Saturday looks a little breezy, but better on sunday. All right steve, thank you. Time 640. Keeping up with the Peregrine Falcons of uc berkeley. Were watching them now. Peninsula is well behaved. Thats good to know. Yes, sir, yes, sir. Thank you, we do have a south breeze, so this is making for mild lows along with a lot of cloud cover. You can see that south wind, mount diablo, south Oakland Hills, theyre also richmond. A little cities turn a little northerly, but theres a few locations that have southerly, so just but that south wind is going to make for some mild conditions on the lows. Although theres reports of drizzle, some higher clouds have certainly spilled in. But look at all the thunderstorm activity yesterday. I would expect that to pop up again today. But a cold front is on the way for late thursday into friday. So for the third week in april here we have a lot going on higher clouds. If you can get some sun breaks, i would think maybe kind of a tropical feel because theres so much moisture. You can see the low heading towards Southern California with the next system coming in from the northwest. So for today, low clouds, some higher clouds if you can get a break or two, maybe some upper 60s to near 70, the breeze is tailed off. Thats the good news. But cloudy. Have to watch out for some light rain on this friday system. But the wind especially, i think along the coast could be cranked up pretty good out of the northwest there on friday. And if you have any travel plans, north sacramento, northern Sacramento Valley, northeast or tahoe truckee, motherlode watch out. Could be some pretty good activity here rainfall wise as we head into friday. Mostly cloudy, some drizzle here. Lots of clouds, mild temps, maybe a little tropical feel if you can get through some of that cloud cover. But overall were in a cool pattern. Its going to stay there a little bit better on the weekend. Dave. Okay steve, thank you. Time now. 651 a warning from a woman here in california about fake botox.
