And there is word this morning President Biden is considering traveling to israel in the coming days as the us works to prevent the conflict between israel and hamas from becoming a wider middle east war in gaza. President biden was on 60 minutes. He says he understands why israel is responding so aggressively to the attacks by hamas. Now, while israeli troops began to mass near the gaza border, the president says he doesnt anticipate that the need for american troops. He says his focus is on rescuing the american hostages, preventing terror attacks here in the us and Holding Hamas accountable while israel is going after a group of people who engaged in barbarism that is as consequential as the holocaust and so i think israel has to respond. They have to go after hamas. Hamas had a bunch of cowards. Theyre hiding behind the civilians. They put their their their headquarters where civilians are and buildings and the like. Now, at least for thousand people have died since hamas attacked israel earlier this month. The state department has confirmed at least 30 americans are among the dead, about a dozen are still missing. They could be among the kidnaped. Israel says its resuming the water supply to the southern part of the gaza strip after pressure from the Biden Administration. This is as people in gaza are still facing life threatening shortages of food and medicine because the flow of supplies to the area is still cut off. The white house says the estimated 2 Million People trapped in gaza should have access to food, medicine and water and a way for them to safely escape the war zone in gaza. The us is providing transportation by sea for the americans who want to leave israel. Many us citizens and their immediate family members boarded a cruise ship that will take them to cyprus. Some are people whove been living in israel. Others were there as tourists when the fighting started and their return flights home were canceled. Hundreds of foreign nationals have arrived from israel aboard military flights and cruise ships on cyprus. Thats about 150 miles from israel. Were going to find out more about this in our next half hour. Were getting a live report from our crew on the ground in jerusalem. More rallies are expected across the bay area this week in support of israel. People gathered at San FranciscoCivic Center Plaza to condemn the hamas attack. Demonstrators wrapped themselves in the israeli flag. One protester is a student who was flying back to tel aviv to finish her last year in college when her plane was diverted due to the fighting. Were here for peace. Were here for gazan civilians. Were here for israeli civilians, for our soldiers and for the future of the jewish people, because israel is necessary for the survival of the jewish people. Other demonstrators say that family and friends in israel have told them terrifying stories about the killings and devastation theyve witnessed. Israels gone more and more right wing and its politics, and its gone more and more right wing and its politics because of events like this, because there isnt that belief that theres a partner on the other side for peace. Those at the rally said they are hoping for peace for all. All right, garcia, time now, 704 Oakland Police are busy investigating seven shootings over the weekend, including three that were deadly. And one of the victims was an 18 year old woman. Ktvu is ali rasmus in oakland. Now to tell us what weve learned so far about this violence and about a big meeting tonight, that city leaders will be taking part of. Ali. Well, dave, Oakland Police havent said anything yet about whether they think any of these shootings may be connected. They have not announced any arrests, but police are investigating eight different assaults and shootings that happened across the city of oakland just since friday night. Lets show you a map pinpointing the location and the times of these incidents. One was an assault, the other seven noted here were shootings. At least seven people were hurt and three people were killed, including an 18 year old woman. The Bay Area News Group reports the teenager and another 17 Year Old Girl were both shot on bancroft avenue around 1130 saturday night. The 18 year old was found dead at the scene. The 17 year old showed up at the hospital a short time later and was treated for gunshot injuries. She is expected to recover. Now, several hours before that, on saturday evening in North Oakland near Martin Luther king boulevard in 42nd street, Police Responded to a call about shots fired and found another person whod been killed. We dont have any information on that victim. But after this violent weekend, there have now been 103 homicides in oakland this year. Thats the same number as all of last year. And we still have another two and a half months to go before this year ends. Now, later today, Oakland City Council member dan kalb, who is also running for state senate, will hold a Public Safety committee meeting. Its scheduled to happen at 6 00 at the b. B. Memorial cathedral at 40th and telegraph. Oakland police and other Law Enforcement agencies will be in attendance. Plans for this Community Safety meeting were already underway long before this weekend because of other crime concerns. In oakland. Robberies and burglaries are up more than 25 compared to a year ago. But again, after this weekend of violence, that will no doubt be an issue that Community Members want to hear about and speak about at that Community Meeting tonight. Live in oakland, ali rasmus, ktvu fox two news. Ali, thank you. The organizers of an effort to recall Alameda Countys District Attorney pamela price has started collecting signatures on a recall petition. People who signed the petition say they blame the da for an increase in crime in their county. I lived in oakland for 30 years and its never been as bad as it is now. District attorney price was elected with 53 of the vote last year on a campaign of criminal justice reform. Some say her changes mean that criminals are empowered to break the law because in some cases, the punishment for certain crimes will not be as strict as under the previous da. Given prices policy, again, most charging enhancements, which can lead to longer prison sentences, price defends her policies. So you want to show them why . Ive been seeing and experiencing the crime wave in oakland. And i do believe that its directly related to the da and her policies on restorative justice. The people of Alameda County elected me to do this work, and were doing it in order to get the recall on the ballot. Organizers have to collect 73,000 signatures by march fifth. Our time now, 7082 of the 49ers star players, Christian Mccaffrey and deebo samuel, will undergo mris today. They were hurt in yesterdays game against the Cleveland Browns, which the browns won, giving the 49 ers their first loss of the season. Now, the game started well. Christian mccaffrey caught a pass and then ran in for a touchdown. The 15th straight game that he has scored. But clevelands bad weather and a really tough browns defense gave the 49 ers problems all day. Quarterback brock purdy threw his first intercept action of the season on definitely some throws and opportunities that i feel like that were there for me and i missed on him and that you know made us be behind the sticks and then you have to get a third down, which is tough on the road here, man. And thats something i got to learn from man. Yeah. And the 49ers committed 12 penalties for 115 yards, including two penalties. A request that led to the browns going ahead. The 49ers still had a chance to win, but their rookie kicker jake moody, missed a 41 yard field goal at the end of the game and the 49 ers lost 19 to 17 on. They earned it and we did this game. I said what it came down to. I would never put it on moody at the end there to say, you know, its great that we had an opportunity to win, that you know, in that fashion, but it just didnt we didnt earn it. And then on top of that, that loss you had these major injuries. Theres Christian Mccaffrey hurt, deebo samuel missed the second half because of that, injured sean elder is x rays were negative. Mccaffrey had suffered an oblique and rib injury, tried to play through it but couldnt. And look at Trent Williams here. He missed some plays, ended up wearing a walking boot after the game because of an ankle sprain in the 40 niners. Do have an extra day to recover bounce back theyll be playing the Minnesota Vikings a week from today on monday night football. Millions of californians due to extreme weather. Ktvu andre senior live in studio to explain for us how this really is an unusual year for california taxpayers. An unusual year gasia to be sure. It all has to do with those record breaking storms that battered the bay area and other parts of california for earlier this year. And the extension is for both federal and state taxes to the irs postponed the tax filing deadline. Six months for People Living in 55 california counties that were hit hard by the severe Winter Weather. Those counties include alameda, contra, costa, san mateo, solano, San Francisco , sonoma, napa, marin and santa clara. The record breaking storms led to an unprecedented tax extension for both individuals and businesses because the disasters and the flooding from january late december, actually in early march, there were various disaster declarations from fema, which allowed the irs to step in and postpone and provide tax relief, postponing deadlines mainly. So what that means is an extraordinary year. This year, at least, they were extended all the way out to october 16th to file and pay. Well, the irs has an Important Message to taxpayers on this deadline day. They say now is the time to file your return and pay up, even if you cannot afford the entire amount of your 2022 tax bill. So the bottom line is file the return, pay something and that way, moving forward, you can definitely decrease your chances for penalties and interest accruing on the account because you file the return. And did pay something. Well, the powerful winter storms took a devastating toll on homeowners across the state. And the irs says this extension is a form of tax relief for those storm victims. And the irs is reminding california taxpayers they do not need to prove they were directly impacted by the severe Winter Weather to qualify for this. Dave, over to you. All right, andre, thank you. Coach danny says i love your reference there to marine world in the last update. I try to mention as many areas as i can, especially when, you know, some fog might be playing into the morning forecast. Petaluma, you highway 37, maybe over towards, you know vallejo marine world although napa airport now says ten miles visibility so highway 2980 up to American Canyon hiddenbrooke sometimes you can get some pockets of fog there Half Moon Bay is now down to a quarter of a mile. Petaluma and santa rosa are both in there as well. Now thats at the airport locations. I live out here and its clear i know. Im just saying those are the airport location as our system is lifting north for good reason. It doesnt have a lot to work with, but it will cool us down today. Napa danville, san carlos and morgan hill warm yesterday upper 70s low to mid 80s. Today at 78 to 8075 and 81. This will probably be the coolest day of the week. San jose was 84. Downtown today will go 78 degrees and then itll start another warm up tomorrow. 40s, 50s on the temps they really havent changed all that much this morning. Theyve been in this this category. But if it feels cooler to you it is except for livermore, which is plus one. Everyone else is cooler with the napa airport. 11 degrees cooler minus nine for petaluma, novato and also palo alto compared to yesterday at this time, we had a lot more fog yesterday. At this time, higher clouds are moving into the north, 2838. Truckee, south, lake tahoe, 663. Las vegas 59. Crescent city. It was at 67. At one time earlier until the system finally went in. They got a strong south wind in advance of it. This system will drag across a lot of high clouds and not much else. If youre santa rosa north, maybe some drizzle or light rain, but i just dont think theres much here thats going to make much of an impact. You can see, i mean, when they started lifting that far north, the pattern has changed. Were getting more sun than clouds. It was just the opposite last week. Now were seeing that high start to nose in a little bit and itll itll kick in big time as we head towards wednesday. And thursday. Fog, sun clouds, 40s 50s cloudy north it will be cooler today even with more sun to the south and clouds, temperatures are coming down a good five, seven degrees today. 6070s 80s tomorrow we start to clear it out and it jumps up fast. But the good news is its not going to last by the time we get to the weekend, Mother Nature will kick in its own air conditioning. But today is that inbetween day we start off with a lot of sun. Now, there are some pockets of fog out there. 40s and 50s on the temps. This system is going to drag across a lot of high clouds and probably thats about it. More to the north than to the south, but might make for a nice october sky here, but cooler today as our system moves in. Were running about 5 to 10 degrees cooler than sunday. So 60s and 70s and 80s, even with the sun, well get some higher clouds starting tomorrow, though, we begin to warm up. All right. So here, still 5 to 80 south livermore. Yeah, livermore at coming out on greenville road there is an overturned crash. It really has messed things up. Coming in from tracy and people are getting through 680 and 84 are pretty slow. Also 880 is very slow from 238 all the way down to union city. However if youre getting on the freeway in union city, it looks okay. South bay commute is beginning to fill in on guadalupe parkway and on northbound 101 731. Lets go back to the headlines. Sal, thank you. Efforts are ramping up to help palestinians in gaza escape as the Israeli Military continues to decimate the gaza strip. Well turn to fox news correspondent now, madeleine rivera. She is in jerusalem to bring us the latest on the fighting and ongoing efforts to bring stranded americans safely home. Good morning, gasia. Well, about 30 minutes ago, we heard sirens go off here in jerusalem and then after that, we heard a few booms, the sound of the iron dome Missile Defense system intercepting those rockets. And thats the reality that people here in israel are living with ahead of a potential Ground Invasion into gaza. Israeli airstrikes leveling neighborhoods in the gaza strip, retaliation against the deadly surprise attacks from Hamas Terrorists last weekend. It will be a mighty war. It will be a deadly war. The escalating conflict has forced more than a Million People from their homes in gaza. Food and water are running out as hospitals on the verge of shutting down are overwhelmed with hundreds of injured people. Not one drop of water, not one grain of wheat, not a liter of fuel that has been allowed in the gaza strip. But as Israeli Soldiers and tanks stand ready at the border for an expected Ground Invasion, they are ready to snap into action at any moment. The us secretary of state says they must do all they can to spare innocent civilian lives the way that israel does this matters. In an interview with 60 minutes, President Biden said sunday he believes hamas must be eliminated. But doesnt believe israel should reoccupy gaza. There needs to be a path to a palestine state. Meanwhile, the state Department Says more than 20,000 americans stranded in israel and gaza say they need help returning home. A flight carrying hundreds of americans stuck in israel landed sunday night in florida and today, israel didnt agree to a cease fire that would have allowed humanitarian aid from egypt to come through and for evacuees to get out. But National SecurityCouncil Spokesperson john kirby hopes that that crossing rafah crossing will open up at some point. Gasia madeline, we know the president said hes considering coming to the region. What does that visit and the United States help mean to the people there. Well, the us says its stands by israels right to defend itself and thats why youre seeing the us send weapons munition and other supplies to israel as they move forward again, with this potential Ground Invasion. And thats why you also see two aircraft strike carrier groups heading to a rather two Aircraft Carrier strike groups heading to the Mediterranean Region as a form of deterrence. They want to show other countries, hey, this is a warning. Dont enter this conflict. But at the same time, youre hearing the United States say to israel, youve got to do what you can to spare as many civilian lives as possible and abide by the rules of International Humanitarian law. Madeline rivera, live in jerusalem, thank you. All right, gasia thank you. Madeline thank you. Time is 734 here at home. A man from San Francisco who was trapped by the war finally made it home safely over the weekend. Manny yekutiel, a Restaurant Owner and a member of the sfmta board, was visiting family members when hamas began attacking israel. After days of hiding in bomb shelters, manny flew from tel aviv to dubai, then on to San Francisco. On a commercial flight. Manny says hell take the next few days to process what hes been through. I also know what it feels like to watch children have to run away from missile strikes. Its a horrible thing. I wish that on no. One, whether theyre jewish, palestinian, anything. No one wants children to be caught up in this. Now, United Airlines and Delta Airlines plan to add more routes from athens, greece, to help people who can get there. American and United Airlines will be using larger planes on its direct flights to europe to accommodate more people. Palestinian supporters are making their voices heard in the bay area. This is the inevitable result of 75 years of oppression and the lack of a lack of action from the international community. Protesters first rallied at san jose santa ana row, then marched down winchester boulevard, waving palestinian flags and chanting for a free palestine. Palestine to mexico. Palestine to mexico. These border walls have got to go. These border walls have got to go. There will be innocent people dying. And thats what thats the thing that sucks about war. These local protesters say theyre concerned that food, water and medicine are not reaching civilians in gaza. Hospitals there are overwhelmed with patients and running out of supplies as the Jewish CommunityRelations Council says it is deeply disturbed by some of the graffiti seen in San Francisco after saturdays propalestinian rally. The Organization Posted photos on social media showing antisemitic messages spray painted on windows along market street. The Jewish CommunityRelations Council says its been in touch with city leaders and has reported the vandalism to the San Francisco police department. Time now. 737 firefighters in livermore want to know what caused a big fire in livermore that destroyed three abandoned buildings. It started last night at home street and concannon boulevard about 515. That huge plume of black smoke could be seen all over the trivalley. Authorities say the three abandoned buildings were a total loss. A fourth building, the charred wing fig catering company, suffered minimal damage. On maui. Three of the surviving Public Schools on lahaina are set to reopen today. More than two months after a deadly fire nearly destroyed the town. At least one of the schools will be using temporary classrooms on a different campus. Officials say the campuses are safe, but some parents say they worry their children could be exposed to toxins left behind by the fire. All right, gasia time is 738, right back to sal. Youve been busy this morning and i think youre still busy now, arent you . Yeah, we are. Lets go right to san jose and the south bay. We do have more and more traffic joining us, if youre driving over to sunnyvale or cupertino, this mornings commute is going to be what you typically expect. Northbound 101, right at 237, there is a crash. Thats your commute heading up to mountain view. You need to get on the road a little early because thats there. We also have been watching westbound 580 at the greenville road exit. Thats more of a east bay problem and traffic is going to be busy. I do want to mention that if youre going to any of the bridges there about normal the bay bridge looks okay. Its backed up to the maze metering lights are on and we dont see anything unusual there. We also do see that westbound 580, i can put it on the map here at greenville. Theyre having trouble getting that crash out of the way. If youre coming in from tracy or you know someone who is probably going to be late this morning, 738 lets bring steve back in here with todays forecast. Getting adventurous in the weather. It is no doubt about it, especially looking out 7 to 10 days. Well start, though, in the midwest, the east and the southeast. Why thats a deep system for the middle of october, the ridge of High Pressure wants to hang out more towards the west. You can see its signature there. But then you see the deep signature right there. A lot of rain. Cool temperatures had a lot of 30 this morning. Low 40s. If you watched any of the College Football games on saturday or pro games from the midwest on sunday, you know what im talking about. You can see a lot of that action diving all the way down into almost, almost florida. Yeah, almost cooler for them as well. I bring this up because this similar pattern may be over us next tuesday, wednesday. Stay tuned. Our system coming in will cool us down today. A lot of the clouds will lift northward, but well see increasing high clouds, some thick fog out there. Tracy, been bouncing between a half mile and about two and a half. Half moon bay as well. A quarter of a mile to for petaluma airport. Novato santa rosa, napa airport, all at one time had some reduced visibility. Therell be some pretty good rain on the north coast. I just you know, maybe mendocino county, santa rosa north looks to be about the line. The system will weaken as it moves inland, but directly across some higher clouds and cool us down. Napa, danville, san carlos, morgan hill, 78 to 80, 75 and 81 on the forecast. Highs today. San jose was 84 on sunday. Today went 78 degrees. What looks to be the coolest day of the week by far will be today because warmer weather kicks in tomorrow. 40s, 50s on the temps here. We are running noticeably cooler except for livermore, which is plus one. Everyone else is much cooler. Santa rosa, petaluma, novato and palo alto airport are all nine degrees cooler. Napa airport leads the way at 11 2838 tahoe, truckee 59 Crescent City to low 60s in los angeles and san diego 34. Flagstaff 38. South lake town 28 and truckee. Getting cold and already in the mountains system will slice through, fall apart, but give a lot of cloud cover to the north and just a high and midlevel clouds to the south. So we are looking for the cloud cover to continue to roll in here today. And temperatures will come down. So 60, 70 are low, low 80s. Tomorrow, though, we clear it out and then it starts to warm up. President biden is said to be weighing a trip to israel in the coming days as the us works to prevent the conflict between israel and hamas from becoming a wider middle east war. Yeah, President Biden, speaking on 60 minutes, says he understands why israel is responding so aggressively to the hamas attacks while israeli troops start to mass near the gaza border. The president adds he does not anticipate the need for us troops. The president says his focus is on rescuing american hostages, preventing terror attacks in the us, and Holding Hamas accountable. All israel is going after a group of people who engaged in barbarism that is as consequential as the holocaust. And so i think israel has to respond. They have to go after hamas. Now hamas had a bunch of cowards. Theyre hiding behind. And the civilians, they put their their their their headquarters where civilians are and buildings and the like. At least 4000 people have died since hamas attack on israel early at the start of the month. The Us State Department has confirmed at least 30 americans are among the dead. About a dozen are still missing and could be among the kidnaped israel says its resuming the water supply to the southern part of the gaza strip after pressure from the Biden Administration. This as people in gaza are still facing life threatening shortages of food and medicine because the flow of supplies to the area is still cut off. The white house says the estimated 2 Million People trapped in gaza should have access to food, medicine and water and a way to safely escape the war zone. And the us is providing transportation by sea for americans who want to leave israel. Many us citizens in their immediate family members boarded a cruise ship that will take them to cyprus. Some people who had been living in israel, others were there as tourists when the fighting broke out, leading to the cancellation of their flights. Hundreds of foreign nationals have arrived from israel aboard military flights and cruise ships on cyprus, which is about 150 miles from israel. Well learn more about this in the next half hour with a live report from a correspondent on the ground in jerusalem. More rallies are expected across the bay area this week in support of israel. People gathered at San FranciscoCivic Center Plaza to condemn the hamas attack. Demonstrators wrapped themselves in the israeli flag. One protester is a student who was flying back to tel aviv to finish her last year at college when her plane was diverted due to the fighting. Were here for peace. Were here for gazan civilians. Were here for israeli civilians, for our soldiers and for the future of the jewish people, because israel is necessary for the survival of the jewish people. Other demonstrators say that family and friends in israel have told them terrifying stories about killings and devastation. Theyve witnessed that israels gone more and more right wing, and its politics and its gone more and more right wing. And its politics because of events like this, because there isnt that belief that theres a partner on the other side for peace. Those are the rallies said they are hoping for peace for all. Also in the news this morning at 805, Oakland Police are investigating several shootings this weekend, three of them deadly. But it comes at a time when oakland has now had 103 homicide this year, the same number as all of last year. Two years ago, there were 109 homicides for all of 2021. Here is a map i believe we can show you if we have the video up showing where the violence happened across the city of oakland this weekend. One of these incidents here was an assault. The other seven noted were shootings. Seven people were hurt in the gunfire. Three were killed, including an 18 year old woman. Ali thank you. The organizers of an effort to recall Alameda CountyDistrict Attorney pamela price have started collecting signatures on a recall petition on people who signed the petition say they blame the da for an increase in crime in the county. Given prices policy against charging enhancements, which can lead to longer prison sentences, price defends her policies. Ive been seeing and experiencing the crime wave in oakland and i do believe that its directly related to the da and her policies on restorative justice. People of Alameda County elected me to do this work and were doing it in order to get the recall on the ballot. Organizers have to collect 73,000 signatures by march 5th. Part time now is 808 49ers star Christian Mccaffrey and deebo samuel will undergo mris today after getting knocked out of the game against the Cleveland Browns. Its the niners first loss of the season. The game started well as mccaffrey turned a shovel pass into a touchdown. His 15th straight game he found the end zone but clevelands bad weather and ferocious defense gave the niners trouble all day. Brock purdy threw his first interception of the season. Definitely some throws and opportunities that i feel like that were there for me and i missed on them and that you know made us be behind the sticks and then you have to get a third down, which is tough on the road here, man. And thats something that ive got to learn from man. The niners committed 12 penalties for 115 yards, including two questionable penalties that led to the browns. Go ahead, drive the niners. Still had a chance to win but rookie kicker jake moody missed a 41 yard field goal at the end of the game and the niners lost 19 to 17 on they earned it and we did this game i said what it came down to. I would never put it on moody at the end there to say you know its great that we had an opportunity to win that, you know, in that fashion. But it just didnt we didnt earn it has been over the worst in the loss the injuries. Deebo samuel missed the second half because he heard a shoulder. Xrays, however, were negative. Mccaffrey suffered an injury to his oblique and rib. He tried to play through it, but he couldnt. Trent williams missed only a few plays during the game, but was wearing a walking boot afterwards due to a sprained ankle. The niners do have an extra day to recover as they face the Minnesota Vikings next monday night. Time now is 809 and we do have a lot of slow traffic coming in from the Central Valley. There is some improvement on 580 near greenville road, but its coming too late. Youre going to be stuck in a bunch of slow traffic. There have been some other crashes in the wake of that southbound 880 solid from 238 now all the way down to fremont. And we also do have highway four and 680 slow. Its not unusual for the bay bridge to be jammed up. Its backed up to the maze metering lights are on and if you drive into San Francisco area, well, we did have some earlier crashes. So one on one is a little slow getting down to the airport and northbound 101 is also slow getting into downtown San Francisco and take ten. Lets go back to the desk. The Winter Weather that we had, those counties include alameda, contra costa, san mateo , solano, San Francisco, sonoma, napa, marin and santa clara. The record breaking storms led to an unprecedented tax extension for both individuals and businesses because the disaster is in the flooding from january late december, actually into early march. There were various disaster declarations from fema, which allow the irs to step in and postpone, own and provide tax relief, postponing deadlines mainly. So what that means is an extraordinary year. This year, at least they were extended all the way out to october 16th to file and pay. And the irs has an Important Message to taxpayers on this deadline day. They say now is the time to file your return and pay up, even if you cannot afford the entire amount of your 2022 tax bill. So the bottom line is file the return, pay something. And that way, moving forward, you can definitely decrease your chances for penalties and interest accruing on the account because you file the return and did pay something. The powerful winter storms took a devastating toll on homeowners across the state and the irs says this extension is a form of tax relief for those storm victims. Excitement is growing in californias wine country during this crunch time. Growers say the unseasonably warm weather has been speeding up the harvest these past few weeks. Wine growers report excellent quality as they pick their first Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. This week is expected to be the busiest of the harvest and what theyre predicting will be a great year for wine lovers. I think its one of those vintage years thats really going to be about sense of place. Its going to be expressive. Each vineyard site is going to be unique. Those later longer kind of mild summers allow really great hang time for Flavor Development. And so i think theyre just going to be phenomenal. This all follows several difficult years in californias Wine Industry due to smoke caused by wildfires. Hard time now is 817. Lets check in with sal this morning for a look at how the roads are looking. Hey, sal. All right, andre and garcia, things are a little heavier now in the last few hours. Earlier, it was good. So on a monday, you know, 6 00, we were looking very good. I was beginning to wonder if we were going to have a light day. Then everyone showed up. Bay bridge backed up to the maze metering lights are on. We do have very slow traffic getting into livermore. If you know someone who is coming in from the Central Valley, theyre going to get to work. Probably not in a great mood. Southbound 880 is a slow still. South bay commute has been slow. I went the wrong way. I meant to go back to the south bay, see if i can. The south bay commute has been very slow. 85 101. Even the guadalupe parkway and that crash northbound 101 to 237. Finally did clear 818 lets bring steve back in with todays weather. All right, sal, thank you. We will start in the midwest and also the southeast here. Why . Because this is a deep system for them this time of year. If you watched any of the College Football games on saturday or some of the pro games, you know that they had a lot of rain, brisk temperatures, they had a couple of 30s, Oklahoma City and kansas city this morning both dropped to 39 degrees. But the ridge is out here. And then it takes a deep, deep. Thats what you call a deep trough right there. The reason why i bring this up is we may see something similar next tuesday, wednesday. Thats kind of what is being advertised. So but thats a big system. Go all the way down to florida for the middle of october. For us, a weak system is moving in. Give it credit. But its not going to do too much unless youre north. And yeah, you might get some rain out of that. But leading edge of the system beginning to move in. Now, if youre far enough south, it may take a while before any of these high clouds move in. So cloudy north, partly cloudy south, but cooler is the main message. Looks like the fog is lifting, although tracy still says a half mile visibility. The fog was thicker yesterday. There was a lot more to go around, but santa rosa, petaluma still in there, a little bit. Half moon bay at one time. Got down to a half mile. Napa danville, san carlos, morgan hill. Those were the highs yesterday. Theyre all cooling off today. 78, 80, 75 and 81 on the forecast highs. San jose was 84 yesterday, going 78 today, more of an onshore breeze. So well drop the temps a little bit. 40s, 50s on these temps after today, though, its all about sunshine and warmer temps, but everyones leaning cooler now 1 to 9 degrees cooler with novato and napa airport and palo alto all running nine degrees cooler than yesterday at this time. Increasing clouds throughout the day. Cooler, cloudy north, maybe some light rain. Ive drawn a line again about santa rosa north looks to be about the line but change is on the way. In fact, the rest of october is going to be one extreme or the other as the way its looking system moves out. Then the high starts to build. In wednesday, itll be right over us wednesday for a quick warm up. Thursday right now looks to be the hottest day. Maybe some low to mid 90s if it all comes in as advertised. The good news is if you dont like hot weather, it only lasts a couple of days. It kicks out of here, system comes in and we will drop big time with cloudy skies to partly cloudy skies and a more of an onshore wind. By saturday into sunday and maybe next tuesday and wednesday, ill be talking about rain. Cloudy north cooler, maybe some light rain. Well to the north, more sun to the south, 60s, 70s and 80s. On these temps, we are seeing those some transition time tuesday, warm to hot wednesday, especially thursday, probably most of friday before significant cooldown on the weekend. Thank you, steve. Its one of the more popular easter treats, but theyll be missing something on the ingredient list, the chemical linked to cancer that will no longer be used in peeps and how soon that change will take effect. The army corps of engineers predicts the saltwater could reach new orleans by the end of next week. They would lose their livelihood if you look at the length of this, you know, we know that until we get enough sufficient rainfall to put increased flow down the river, that is going to be with us. This is mornings on two. Good morning and welcome back. Im gasia mikaelian. Im andre senior. Thank you for joining us. Today is monday, october 16th. And the weather is going to be changing a little later on this week. The fog has moved in in some areas. So lets check in with steve foster right now. Well, you brought this up not too long ago, andre. Theres a thick blanket there on the Golden Gate Bridge. And well take a look at that. So for some, youre like, im in the sun and all of a sudden, whammo, you hit that wall of fog right on the span when you blow the towers and you can see its kind of stretches back over towards alcatraz. But most of it looks to be lifting right now. 40s, 50s on the temps, upper 50s. Now for a few, but higher clouds are beginning to move in. They still have a ways to go for areas in the south bay, but overall itll be a nice october sky. A lot of cloud cover coming in here. Cloudy north, some patchy fog, but cloudy north, more sun south. A little cooler today, but itll be warming up fast as we head towards midweek, 60s, 70s, 80s today. All right, livermore, sal. Better, worse. Same. Whats going on . Its a little bit better as in theyve cleared the lanes in livermore. Steve on westbound 580 coming out toward the Altamont Pass. Youre going to see a lot of slow traffic. People you know, coming in from the Central Valley may be delayed. Things are finally beginning to improve in the east bay. If you have time to wait it out. I think youre going to see improvement all over the place, including here at the bay bridge, although its still very crowded. 831 lets get back to the headlines. All right, sal, thank you so much. Efforts are ramping up to try and help palestinians in gaza escape as the Israeli Military continues decimating the gaza strip after Hamas Terrorists attacked a few weeks ago. Foxs Madeline Rivera is in jerusalem with the latest on the fighting and the ongoing efforts to bring stranded americans overseas home safely. And, madeleine, i want to start with this. Us embassy in israel encouraged stranded americans and other foreigners to head to the gaza border with egypt. But egypt hasnt opened the border yet either for that or for aid to enter gaza. Is there any update on when that could happen . No, we saw some conflicting reports earlier today that that rafah crossing that Border Crossing from Southern Gaza into egypt would be open for some time. And then israel went out with a statement that said theyre not agreeing to a cease fire that would have allowed humanitarian aid from egypt to get in and for people looking to evacuate to get out as well. But National SecurityCouncil Spokesperson john kirby is holding out hope that that rafah crossing will open up at some point. But we dont know when and if it will happen. Andre, madeleine, lets talk a little bit about the ongoing efforts to stomp out hamas. Now israel, for the last couple of weeks, since october seventh has been going with airstrikes on on hamas targets in gaza. Right now. Is there any chance that the Ground Troops that have been waiting nearby will start a Ground Invasion or any indication of when that might happen . Sorry can you repeat that question . Is there any indication that what exactly i think i missed the Ground Forces when israeli Ground Forces will be able to move in, will or or plan to move into to gaza. We dont have a timeline as to when, if or when israeli troops will move in to gaza. Look, theyve been having this buildup of military troops and equipment out along the gaza border, and it begs the question, how long can you keep those troops and equipment there without moving forward at some point . But israel right now is keeping their cards close to the vest in regards to a time frame. Again, if this ground offensive does happen at all, i want to be careful with my words. There but israel says they are prepared for a coordinated attack by land, sea and air in regards to what else theyre doing ahead of a potential Ground Invasion over the weekend, the idf did conduct limited operational raids in northern gaza. They say that was to get information about the hostages. As of now, more than actually close to 200 hostages, rouz have been taken into gaza. Those were the latest numbers that we got from israel today that 199 people have been taken into hostage and the idf says they went into northern gaza over the weekend to conduct those limited operational raids to hopefully get some information. But it could also have been an opportunity for them to get a lay of the land. Andre and madeleine, one more thing, another potential issue here for israel is at the northern border with lebanon, where it has already exchanged gunfire repeatedly with the iranian backed hezbollah group. What do we know about that conflict . Yeah, theyve been exchanging more fire and today, actually, israel said that they are evacuating some people all close to the northern border, close to the or rather in their northern border, close to lebanon. And again, were seeing a lot more fire theyre exchanging with lebanons militant group, hezbollah. And its really raising this fear that this conflict could spread. And thats why youre seeing the United States really ramp up their messaging and putting out those two Aircraft Carrier strike groups in the mediterranean, saying that this is a warning sign, this is a deterrence, saying to other regions, dont enter this fight. Madeleine river reporting for us live in jerusalem. Madeleine, thank you so much. Appreciate it. San francisco was trapped by the war. Finally made it back over the weekend. Palestine to mexico, they fought up. Walls have got to go. These vital walls have got to go. There will be innocent people dying. And thats what thats the thing that sucks about war. These local protesters are concerned that food, water and medicine are not reaching civilians. In gaza, hospital. Theyre overwhelmed with patients and running out of supplies. Officials say the campuses are safe, but some parents say theyre worry their children could be exposed to toxins left behind from the fire. 838 now lets check back in with steve paulson, who is tracking our Weather Forecast for this monday. Hey, steve. Well, a lot going on here. Todays probably the coolest day of the week, but well start with the good old us of a pattern. The upper air pattern at 18,000ft. Thats a deep system that has made an impact. If you watched any of the Football Games saturday, college or pro sunday, you can see the ridge goes up here and then drops big time all the way into the gulf. And then goes up. That means we had 30s for lows for some Oklahoma City, kansas city was 39 this morning. A no doubt about it, fall pattern all the way down to the deep south. But the reason why i bring this up is this similar type of pattern may be over us next tuesday, wednesday. Theres kind of hints of that as a teeter totter effect here takes shape here. But after today, its all about High Pressure and temperatures going up. But our system is moving in. Its dragging across. But again, if youre south, this is no big deal. If youre north, i think santa rosa north looks to be about the line system. Will cool us down. Thats the main message here. Napa danville, san Carlos Morgan hill. Pretty warm yesterday. Morgan Hill Livermore both hit 86 today. Were going 78 to 80, 75 and 81 on the forecast highs with san jose from a warm 84 on sunday to 78 today. 40s 50s still although there are some beginning to warm up a little bit, but were noticeably cooler. A good one. Nine degrees compared to 24 hours ago. Napa airport, palo alto down there one time. Even novato was 9 to 11 degrees cooler, but cloud cover is now moving in. So you can see that to the north, to the south, its still good. Theres fog on the coast on the Golden Gate Bridge, at least down to santa cruz. So this system will sweep in with more of an onshore breeze today into early tuesday. Its all about that system going through. Then the high builds in starting tuesday evening, wednesday, itll be right over us for a quick warm up. Third day looks to be the hottest day, maybe some low to mid 90s. There are some differences on forecast highs, but theyre all warm, thats for sure too hot. And if you dont like heat, then you dont have to wait long because it kicks out by friday into saturday. Another system moves in and some indications of deep systems here next week, tuesday or wednesday, still seven, eight days away. So well just ease into it. But cloudy north, cooler, more sun south, but 60s, 70s and 80s on these temps. But it does look like the rest of october will be going up on the temps and then coming right back down as we go to next week. You guys. Steve, thank you. Theres a couple of schools are set to reopen on lahina following Deadly Wildfires there. Health Officials Say theyre concerned about the detection of toxic ash.
