F a 18 hornets filled the skies. The blue angels performed over the city and the bay fans say they look forward to the show every year and this year with clear skies and warm weather, theyre saying it did not disappoint. Ive been coming out here since seven years old when they been at moffett. And so i just follow them every time they come out for fleet week. Its just the best time of the year for me. Now, if you guys remember last year there was fog and limited visibility. So although the show, you know, could be impacted by stuff like that, that is certainly not the case this year. Weve had clear blue skies, warm weather. And if you missed todays show, dont worry about it. You can catch it tomorrow or on sunday. A couple of words of advice, though, as you can tell, it is very warm out here. If youre going to come on out, youre going to want to bring water. Youre going to want to wear sunscreen. Youre going to want to have some kind of sun protection. And of course, because theres going to be so many people expected to come out this weekend and youre probably going to want to take public transit. Guys, great advice. Great advice. The weather is spectacular, as you mentioned. Lovely out there. Yeah. And a lot of fun and games, but also, this is great for San Francisco, getting people back in the city, right . Yeah absolutely. Its great for area businesses. You know, we talked to a hotel. They say that their rooms are booked up. They have a ton of people in the hotel. Its one of those hotels thats down by fishermans wharf. So they have a spectacular, fuller view of the air show. They say, what better than to sit back in your room and just watch that air show right out your door . We also spoke with some Public Service organizations that say that this gives them an opportunity to raise some money by vending items and souvenirs and stuff like that, but also get out the word about who they are. Well have a little bit more about that coming up at 5 00. But really, the folks here who rely on blue angels rely on fleet week say they are very relieved that it happened this year. Of course, there was that concern that due to the potential federal government shutdown, we might have seen a very truncated version of fleet week. All those people who rely on it, guys, theyre breathing a sigh of relief. Yeah, they sure are. A lot of uncertainty as we headed toward fleet week this year. But things are are happening here. Its going to be a fantastic weekend. Christien kafton live along marina green in San Francisco. Christian, thank you. And it wasnt just the blue angels up in the skies. See, a lot of people came out to see the ships ktvu news crew was on board. One of them as it prepared to enter the bay today were out in the pacific ocean, just sailed underneath the golden gate where rendezvoused with the other ships to get together and line up for the parade of sail. Its been a special week for the coast guard and the navy and the city of San Francisco. Its going to be a great weekend ahead as the parade of ships today takes place, followed by the air show over the weekend. And the public is able to tour those ships and interact with the service members. The ships are now docked at piers 30 through 32 and 35 through monday, ktvu tom vacar was on board one of those ships during the parade earlier today, and he will have much more on that experience being on board.
