The city announced today that Law Enforcement has seized more than 100 kilos of narcotics in San Franciscos tenderloin and south of market areas over the last three months, including more than 56 kilos of fentanyl. Officials say more than 300 dealers have been arrested in year to date. Officers have seized more than 135 kilos of narcotics, including adding 89 kilos of fentanyl, more than all of last years drug seizures combined. They say it resulted from a gun battle between people in two vehicles. You see the lamplight and the bush right in the middle. Everett Alex Alexander points to the spot where a woman was shot while walking on the path along lake merritt in oakland. He says he looked out his balcony after he heard dozens of shots fired shortly before 1230 monday afternoon. It was scary, you know, because you dont know whats going on and you dont know where the bullets are flying. Police have confirmed that the victim is an innocent bystander caught in the crossfire. A bicycle tells me multiple witnesses saw a gun battle between two groups on Lakeside Drive near the intersection of madison street. There were a couple of cars, like two white lexuses. The guys were hanging out the window shooting, shooting at each other, you know, point blank range. They went on and on and on for whatever, 10 or 15 seconds. The shooting happened on the Labor Day Holiday with lots of people out enjoying the day. I ride my bike around here all the time and it kind of pisses me off and it scares me. Probably walk elsewhere, which is too bad because lake merritt is part of whats great to about living here, right . About living in this neighborhood. Neighbors describe lake merritt as the heart and soul of oakland. And to have a shooting like this happen is disturbing. One neighbor says many people in the area rushed to help the woman and says that speaks to whats good about this city. These people didnt know that the danger was past, but they were willing to put themselves at risk to help this innocent woman. Neighbors tell me First Responders arrived quickly. A suspected car thief has been arrested in oakland. Police say 30 year old ivan Arturo Ramirez was driving this partially spray painted Cadillac Sedan when a safety camera spotted the license plate and then alerted officers that a stolen vehicle was in the area. Police say ramirez has been arrested before for theft and vandalism. New at 11, four firefighters from alameda have returned home after a 14 day deployment right near the california oregon border. Those firefighters helped battle the smith river complex in the Six Rivers National forest. The fire was caused by lightning and its burned nearly 85,000 acres since it started on august 15th. In all, more than 3000 firefighters have been battling the flames. The city of berkeley has a new Emergency Alert system. Ten sirens have been installed across the city with plans to install another five next year. They will provide verbal messages to inform residents about an emergency in their area, including wildfires , as the city is also reminding residents to sign up for the Alameda County Emergency Alert text message system on the county website. He was arrested late last night in transport to an lapd jail where he was booked around one this morning. The 27 year old was released on 50,000 bond. There are Little Details surrounding the arrest, but in a statement, the dodgers said urias will not be traveling with the team for this weeks series against the miami marlins. This is not the first time he has been arrested for domestic violence. Back in may 2019, urias was involved in an alleged incident at the Beverly Center mall. When he was accused of pushing a woman. And i think they were really devastated by seeing the homes destroyed, knowing that children lived there, that possibly they met these children.
