Some Business Owners say so far this year its happened 19 times in counting. Our hands are tied because theres really nothing we can do besides sit around and wait for pga to do better. No electricity twice on monday, once out during lunch, then during dinner, leaving hungry customers and busy cooks in the dark. We have checks that need to be paid out. We have guests who are sitting and not sure what to do. We have a kitchen thats halfway through their tickets, cant see what theyre making. Its tough on the restaurants because you know, we have so much refrigeration and equipment and people say, why dont you get a generator . And its like, i need 20 children. New at six tonight, the former director of Sports Medicine at san jose state has pleaded guilty to two federal charges linked to sexual abuse of students. In the plea agreement. There is a more fallout tonight stemming from the latest indictment against former president donald trump. The indictment in georgia accuses him and 18 others of trying to overturn the 2020 election results. Kristen captain walks us through the fourth indictment of the former president who is now facing a total of more than 90 criminal charges in a nearly 100 page indictment. Fulton County District attorney detailed dozens of acts by former President Trump and 18 of his allies. She says, were aimed at trying to undo the will of georgia voters. The former president has faced three previous indictments, one out of new york for alleged hush money payments and two federal indictments related to keeping top secret documents and charges surrounding january sixth. Professor andrew law at university of San Francisco has served as both a federal defender and a San Francisco prosecutor and says this latest case may pose the most serious risk to the former president. The narrative around the federal indictment is that, well, if trump wins the election, hell pardon himself. There are all sorts of arguments about that. But that is something that is right now very much out there. Its different with respect to the states in georgia. You cant pardon yourself beyond the legal jeopardy. There are many questions about how all of this will play out over the course of the upcoming republican primary and general elections. Professor Sean Rosenberg studies political psychology and the rise of populism. He says for trump supporters, this latest indictment will only strengthen their resolve. He says for trump supporters, they want a strong leader, unencumbered by the usual checks on the executive branch. For them, he says, the purpose of politics is to get things done for the people and to that end, there should be no constraints placed on the judgment or action of leaders who are acting on behalf of the people. Rosenberg says democrats will likely also be energized by the indictments, seeing them as confirmation of their worst fears about what the president could do if reelected. But rosenberg says the biggest impact could be with independent voters who he says are more likely to see the legal system as operating more or less impartially because they are more likely to see the judicial process as operating more or less impartially as it is supposed to. And therefore, for the fact of these indictments and certainly any conviction will negatively impact their attitude toward trump. As for the critical issue of the timeline of these issues, our legal expert says the former president will likely try to delay those federal cases for as long as possible, hoping he wins and can make them disappear. Fulton County District attorney wants to start her trial in the next six months. Our legal expert says expect the same strategy out of the former president to delay for as long as possible. Theres the fog along the coast. And there is the fog off in the distance, looking over the heel, heel side there you can see the fog kind of coming in through the it looks like thats a san bruno gap probably from our Oakland Building here, looking on the estuary and then across the bay, that fog is going to fill in. But its shallow. Its not a real deep layer, so its not going to cool much tomorrow. These were the highs from today. And since its not going to cool much, well just push these numbers right into tomorrow. It felt a little cooler today. It did to me. And thats because of the lower humidity. We slightly lower and i think itll be about the same tomorrow. So slightly lower humidity. But with temperatures like those, the heat in the valley, 103, 104, 105 up in the Sacramento Valley , and then milder clearly around the bay and at the coast, temperatures are running about where they were yesterday at this time. Three degrees warmer in san jose, five degrees warmer in livermore. So as we go into tomorrow morning, theres the subtropical moisture plume as the day heats up in the afternoon, you start to get the same thing. So that footprint that i just showed you earlier with where we were looking at the lightning and the thunderstorm, theres going to mimic itself again tomorrow with a little bit more of a slant to the north. And then we get into thursday morning, a little fog here. And then thursday afternoon, less thunderstorms. Thursday is going to be a day marked by a little bit cooler weather. So temperatures will start to trend down a little bit. But that subtropical moisture , all this stuff is continuing to stream in. Its humid. Thats what you notice. Certainly, it makes it kind of sticky, but it really is volatile in terms of fire starts and thunderstorms. It just is unstable as heck. And thats where were getting right now. Thats what well see again tomorrow afternoon and probably again on thursday afternoon. These are the forecast highs for tomorrow, 100 and antioch with 35 humidity. Youll feel it 98 in concord. And then you get to the coast. Its not too bad, 71 in San Francisco, pacifica, low 70s, upper 60s and the five day forecast, you can see here with cools off rapidly on thursday, friday, saturday and sunday. So well keep an eye on it. But some trouble moisture is going to its causing us problems right now with these lightning starts and its a potential its going to be with us pretty much for the next week or so in some form or another. So well keep an eye on that. All right, bill, thank you. Its been a tough season for the oakland as, but there is still been some flashes of brilliance. Jason appelbaum, as one of the best defensive plays of the season. Up next in sports visit your local volvo retailer, to explore mild hybrid suvs during the summer safely savings event. A Football Game at levis for the First Time Since late january when they beat the Dallas Cowboys in the divisional playoffs. Im smiling because not quite the stakes in this one. Its just a preseason game. Brock purdy is not expected to suit up against the broncos, though he is practicing now every day and now firmly entrenched as qb1 last year, purdy was the 49 ers last pick in the draft. This year, that honor went to wide receiver ronnie bell out of michigan, and he was one of the few bright spots for the 40 niners in their exhibition loss to the raiders on sunday. He picked up 15 yards on a jet sweep, caught three passes for a team high 58 yards and he looked comfortable returning punts and kickoffs. Kyle shanahan likes his versatility to get the touchdown going. That was at 30. They ran into some really good things and the return game had that good jet sweep made some good passes. I felt like i was comfortable and i think that was something that i guess was like a goal of mine, you know what i mean . When you turn on the film, you watch from a standpoint of like assignment, a lineman, what im what im supposed to be doing. Like i was comfortable when i was doing the right thing, right in the nba is going to have an inseason tournament this year. Its much like in soccer, i suppose well have a group stage and a knockout rounds. The warriors tournament schedule was released today. These four regular season games in november will comprise the group stage. Of the 30 teams in the nba, eight will advance to the knockout rounds, as they call them, based on the results of their four games in their group stages. The Warriors Group stage finale is going to be in sacramento, where they were last seen eliminated the kings in game seven of the opening round of the playoffs. And of course, that gave us an excuse to show Stephen Curry in the off season. He had 50 points in that game, as we all remember, to help clinch it for the warriors, the giants had raised just underway at the ballpark in San Francisco. So highlights coming up on the late show. Meantime, mark kotsay and the as in saint louis appear to be headed for yet another loss, although theyve rallied a little bit. Spencer watkins on the mound a week after the as claimed him off waivers. And Nolan Arenado promptly takes him deep for a two run homer. It did not go well for watkins, who gave up four runs in the first inning. Now, the as may be 33 and 86, but theyre not going to stop playing. Look at tony kemp. Hustle ing and making the great catch on Tommy Edmonds fly ball pops up, throws out Andrew Kisner at third.
