Island of maui and ordered federal aid to help support the Recovery Efforts there. Ktvu is tom vacar has been monitoring those Recovery Efforts a joins us now with the latest. Hawaii. , somber and very sad day. The day after the worst destruction is over is often the worst day for survivors. Its when officials conduct the body count of people and pets lost homes, businesses and the certainty that things everything will never be the same again. Its the time of disbelief and deep soul sadness. Nikki white is desperately trying to find her dad, tim, a 65 year Old Air Force military police veteran living in lahaina. Her father told her by phone that he was in his car seeking shelter. He was saying that he couldnt get through to the places we were telling him to go because of the fire and structures were down. And then just communication stopped. So were almost at 24 hours of no. One hearing from him. This is far more than the historical loss of the once hawaiian capital and royal residence of king kamehameha, the third who unified the islands. It is a direct houl of the decimated. We are grieving with each other during this increased global time. Its also a deep loss to the ina californians of hawaiian ancestry. When you say home, it still means hawaii. Eric tao is president of the Hawaii Chamber of commerce of northern california. It supports hawaiian ancestry owned businesses as well as the hawaiian community, as well as education for thousands of bay area hawaiians. Now hawaiian relief. Thats the next thing were going to do is try to help get the word out on the best way to help people back in hawaii. Its such a shock. One of taos friends told him this. He said, this is kind of like our 911. Their story of people barely escaping, you know, just getting out in the nick of time, not being able to walk, not being able to drive, just being rescued at the last minute and the days ahead, we will be stronger as a kulu or community as we rebuild with resilience and aloha make no mistake, lahaina is a complete and total loss to the tourist who loved it as well. Tom vacar ktvu fox two news. Back to you. All right, tom, thank you. Well, earlier today we spoke with some bay area residents visiting maui at the time of those fires who described hair raising evacuations from the island with no food, water or even gas stations open. We had to take the treacherous route that goes through the back of the island, whr, the most dangerous journey ive ever seen because, like its probably size of this belt here, the roads that big and there are two suv is trying to cross each other because it was like a panic. After escaping from the fire zone, vacationers spent hours at the airport waiting for their chance to get out. Many said they could not believe that the Historic Town of lahaina, where many of them had just visited, was now in ashes. Well, San Francisco mayor london breed happened to be in maui when those fires started. Today, her office put out a statement that said in part, the mayor was on maui for a personal trip in the wildfires started. She has left the island and is now on oahu. The mayor was never in danger. This wildfire is devastating to witness. And our thoughts are with the people of maui. For generations. The banyan tree along lahaina historic front street served as a Gathering Place for the community. Now there are concerns about whether that majestic tree will survive after the fire, the iconic tree has stood there for 150 years. This is what it looked like before flames tore through that area. It was planted back in 1873 when it was just eight feet tall. Now its more than 60ft tall and nearly an acre wide, making it the largest banyan tree here in the us. And the maui fires are the deadliest us wildfire fire since the 2018 Campaign Fire that broke out in butte county, 85 people were killed in that tragedy which destroyed the town of paradise. Well, our Team Coverage continues now with our meteorologist mark tamayo, whos been tracking the conditions today there around maui. Hi there, heather. Yeah, the winds have been backing off at least over the past day or so. In fact, yesterday at this time, we were talking about a red flag warning for the Hawaiian Islands and also a wind advisory. No longer the case for today. So thats a good sign that to the conditions have been improving. But take a look here at the wind timeline going back in time here in the tuesday, the peak of the winds around 54 to 62 miles an hour. Still windy yesterday. And then theres still some breeze today, but not as strong as a couple of days ago. So at least the winds have been trending in the right direction. And hawaii is in a drought. In fact, this is the latest map showing you the conditions across the Hawaiian Islands for today, indicating abnormally dry, moderate drought or severe drought. So were still going to be learning just everything, the elements that led up to this extreme fire. But at least drought could be somewhat of a consideration. Here is a satellite, of course, one player in this was hurricane dora, a category four storm yesterday. This is one component to the overall weather setup. Moving to the south of the island chain that linked up with that big area of High Pressure. The pressure difference between that storm to the south, that area of High Pressure to the north, really generating those really strong extreme winds a couple of days ago and yesterday. But as a system, this hurricane moves out to the west, those winds have been decreasing. Heres a look of the current wind reports right now. As you can see around nine to 12 to 23 miles an hour. These are the reports on the island of maui right now. And the winds should continue to back off. Theres still a bit of a breeze. Its that time of year. Basically, the islands get the breezy conditions, but at least were not talking about the extreme winds. They experienced a couple of days ago. And even yesterday morning. All right. That is good news to hear. The winds letting up just a bit. Mark, thank you. To get some more insight now on the multifaceted response to this disaster in maui, we are joined live by former fema coordinator mark nouveau. Mark, it is good to have you on this afternoon. We appreciate the time as always here. One of the main focus is, it would seem, for emergency teams right now on the island of maui is search and rescue operations in those fire zones. Theres even teams from california heading that way. They have expertise in locating remains. What do you believe are the challenges in trying to find victims and survivors of this fire moving forward . Well, its going to be a sad story, unfortunately, its still unfolding. And whats going to happen is, you know, the urban search and rescue teams are coming out with different specialists. And some of those specialists are dog handlers. Theyre cadaver dogs and also rescue dogs. So theyre going to grid that area and try to figure out, you know, where they can get folks in and take a look and say that they can deploy personnel. And what theyre going to try and do is find those who have perished and ds and uncles, and theyre going to try and also find those who are still living and see if they can rescue them. So theyve almost got simultaneous operations going on with regards to try and find people. Yeah, emergency officials there in hawaii say, look, though, our search and rescue teams really cant go in until we know that its safe for them to do so and that theyre able to really secure those those fire lines talk about that challenge. Yeah it is a challenge, no question. Those are considered lifelines. They want to make sure, you know, the power shut off, that the gas, those lines that are severed, there arent, you know, gas lines feeding the fires. But the urban search and rescue teams and the firefighters engineers that are going in to do this, they work in those environment. So part of that is to be able to secure that area for them to be able to operate. So its not unfamiliar territory for them. And certainly they want to get in and help, you know, that keep in mind also that hawaii is you know, its a department of defense base for us and theres an awful lot of military there. So youre going to see military personnel, the department of defense, helping out with these tasks as well. We understand, mark, there is a Mass Evacuation effort that continues right now in the area thats kind of north of lahaina where the fire obviously devastated that town. Theyre trying to get tourists. Theyre trying to off the island. But you have these issues we talked about here because of the fire, one of the main roads getting to that area is blocked on the western side of the island. When you look at the access issues here, how difficult is it going to be . How long is it going to take to get everyone off of this island and to shelters or to safety . Yeah it is going to take a period of time to clear those roads, as you said, because wires are down. They while this is going on, theyre still fighting fire. Right. They got 80 containment, but they still got to concentrate on the fire. So we do know that the airlines are operating the airports open and if necessary, you can do military airlift with c17 to get folks out of there. The hope right now is to try and organize and grid areas go after rescue, but also those people who are able ambulatory to move to get them to another area of the island and or particular get them over to the Convention Center on oahu to provide some sort of shelter and basis for them before those tourists go home. Challenge is going to be for the locals. Where are they going to live once they leave that island . Yeah obviously, a big question ahead. Mark, before we let you go, though, officials there in hawaii, once they realize the magnitude of this, they immediately requested the president biden, declare a National Disaster declaration. That has now happened. Explain to the audience what that means and what type of resources that will now free up. Well, what it does in very simplistic manner, it opens up a Large Bank Account from the federal government called Disaster Relief fund. It also mandates that any federal agency that is tasked with some sort of help, it can be department of transport station, it can be busses, it can be any type of thing thats necessary that the governor and his staff is requesting. Fema will coordinate with them to be able to provide that debris, cleanup the boats removed, sheltering emergency sheltering. You know, over time for emergency personnel. All types of Different Things as well as housing for residents who are affected, too. Yes. So much help headed to hawaii right now. We appreciate the time and the perspective, as always. Former fema coordinator mark duvall, good to see you. Thank you very much. And if you would like to help those affected by the fires, you can find ways to do so right there on our website, we have a special section dedicated to the maui fires. Fires just had to ktvu. All right. Back here in the bay area, the flames and the flare ups have now ended, but there is still concerns about health in the east bay. Coming up, what were learning about the massive fire that erupted at oaklands schnitzer steel, which has a troublesome past. And watch out where you sit. Around 520 yesterday, when they arrived, they discovered three people were dead, one adult and two juveniles. The adult has been identified as 44 year old nemanja is. Anyone with information is asked to give police a call fire at a scrap Metal Recycling. This is time lapse video from when that fire started last night and burned into the Early Morning hours. Brooks jarocz joining us now live. And brooks, this fire sent a lot of dirty, dangerous smoke up into the air. Yeah, alex and air quality advisory is in effect until midnight here. In fact, several businesses, even some Port Operations shut down today because of that bad air. But it brings back a lot of memories of previous fires at the same place in recent years. That place catches on fire all the time. Billowing black smoke spread as firefighters battled flames at schnitzer steel from the air, from the water and from the ground. Thats crazy. And i thought it was just going to keep burning for a while, and it did from wednesday evening and well into thursday, sending toxic air across west oakland to alameda and toward the south bay, triggering an air quality advisory. We know that fine particulate matter is the pollutants that these air monitoring stations are picking up. But due to the nature of the fire at this facility, there could be other things in that smoke which is why we are advising residents to stay indoors. If they smell smoke in order to protect their health. A few nearby businesses stayed closed and even some port of oakland operations were halted as fire crews kept dousing piles of scrap metal. We would like to urge schnitzer steel to work closely with regulatory agencies such as the air district and also health and Safety Agencies so that this does not happen again. But the Metal Recycling operation has a history, a handful of fires in recent years right on the waters edge. Its just a real hazard and they shouldnt be operating in a way that causes this much pollution. Watchdog San Francisco beekeeper says despite environmental violation notices and fines, schnitzer is just paying to pollute. Theyre not really interested in cleaning up their operations. And thats just not being a good steward of the west Oakland Community or the bay. And that has triggered major lawsuits, including the state attorney general who sued for illegally releasing Hazardous Waste and settled with schnitzer for more than 4 million. Three other lawsuits were brought by the oakland as calling for schnitzer to clean up its act. We just want to ensure that they follow the law and that the air quality and health of folks in west oakland and our employees and everyone with the as is taken into account. The as closed their offices thursday with 23,000 People Living within a mile of schnitzer steel. Many hope this latest fire will spur some action to make it stop. Were going to continue with these efforts to just hold schnitzer accountable and hopefully help prevent any future fires. I reached out to schnitzer steel several times today. I have not heard any response. I wanted to ask them about their track record and this most recent fire and a current check of the air monitors from the air district show it is now safe to be outside, tried to live or work outside and breathe the air. Normally yeah. Live in oakland, brooks jarocz ktvu fox two news. Yeah, the air quality certainly has improved and brooks obviously it is not uncommon for fires to break out at this facility here. I think a lot of people are wondering how does a does a fire start in a big pile of scrap metal like that . And right now, the Fire Department says this is under investigation. But you have a lot of automobiles. You have other appliances. There and im told by the Fire Department that actually one of those conveyor belts and the machinery thats used to grind up all that scrap metal is broken currently. So that pile was much larger. So you can imagine how much longer it takes to get a big fire out. Yeah, it was certainly challenging for those crews. Brooks jarrod, live with the update in oakland. Brooks, thank you. As far as temperatures, you have been hearing about the temperature change weve had a break from the heat over the past couple of days, but were going to warm things back up, especially by sunday, monday and into next week for tuesday and possibly into wednesday. Here is the forecast for you can see from a place like concord with temperatures back up into the 90s by saturday. But then well continue to warm things up by sunday and into monday. Heres the satellite today showing you this. Low clouds and fog near the coastline. Look whats developing, though. Some high clouds moving in from the south. Its becoming closer right now. Here is that fog bank near the immediate shoreline. But as we look towards southern and central california, this is remnant moisture from what was once Tropical Storm eugene. And some of that shower activity is moving into San Luis Obispo county. So close enough that we are talking about some more high clouds and the possible city of an isolated shower. Closer to monterey bay. Lets keep an eye on the radar over the next day or so. Thats going to be for tonight into tomorrow. Right now, temperature is in the 60s, 70s, and the 80s. And here is our forecast model showing you this, the clouds marching in from the south. And this is tomorrow morning, 7 a. M, mostly cloudy skies. It could feel a bit humid, a bit muggy out there, and definitely some more showers and thunderstorms out toward the sierra. Well talk more about that weekend. Warm up with your full update coming up in just a little bit. All right. Well see you then. Mark thank you. There are about 1500 tourists were expected to leave maui today. One day after about 11,000 others flew out. A woman vacationing from seattle describes now the journey off the island. The sky was just black, like there was a huge black cloud coming up from lahaina, which is about 5 or 10 minutes from where we were staying when we were trying to leave. Today okay. We could have gone. We could have taken the coast down, you know, past lahaina. But they were turning everybody around. They didnt have there was no power. There was fire trucks everywhere. There was no gas anywhere. That was people lined up at gas stations, but they were turning them around. There was no food open. It was pretty hectic. So we ended up, instead of taking the coast to the airport, which would have taken an hour, we had to go up all around the north side of the island, which took about three hours. Some tourists are returning home here to the bay area. Our Amanda Quintana was at sfo earlier today when passengers landed. Leaders in hawaii are urging visitors to stay away from maui and leave, sending thousands scrambling, trying to evacuate to get home safely. The hotel just put up a sign and said maui county says to get out, evacuate as soon as possible, head to the airport. Stacy snowden says for a while she and her husband didnt realize the magnitude of the maui fires until their friends showed up at their hotel door. They got screaming bangs at their door, their condo that said, get out, get out now. Their kids were just petrified because, you know, they were seeing the fires. They were seeing the smoke. And, you know, they thought they were going to have to jump into the water. Many others took in friends and even strangers as the fire got closer, they sent us a picture right out of their window with fire coming to their house. So in the middle of the night, they came and stayed with us. Families. Theyre on vacation. Thats their first trip to hawaii. And i think itll be something they never forget. Forced to spend hours at the airport waiting for their chance to get out, some even shedding tears at the relief of being home. Many remembering their time in lahaina just days before we went out to dinner at the of grill, really old, famous restaurant there. And we were there saturday night just having such a beautiful time. And its gone. Its gone now. Now watching footage of the Historic Town in ashes, it looks unreal. Yeah, it looks like a bomb went off. Its unbelievable. Its just like Fishermans Wharf being burned down. You can think about that. Miki pandit says just minutes after he and his wife arrived at their hotel, evacuations started with no food, water or gas stations open, and the main roads closed. Everyone was sent the same direction. We had to take the treacherous route that goes through the back of the island, which is like a three hour. The most dangerous journey ive ever seen because like, its probably size of this belt here. The roads that big. And there are two suvs trying to cross each other because it was like a panic. One of the biggest issues was communication. The response was really bad from a government side because they were paralyzed pretty much. They didnt know what to do with no power or cell service. People had notion at all. And we were just hopeful that the world knows whats going on here because mauis in trouble. Hawaii in trouble. And they need a lot of help right now. Deputies in San Joaquin County say they found human remains inside a vehicle in the delta. Authorities say the vehicle is linked to a person who was reported missing in Santa Clara County back in 2008. Emergency crews were in the process of removing vehicles from the delta yesterday near stockton when they discovered those remains. Several vehicles were pulled from the water. Some of them were stolen. Residents say theyre not shocked about the findings. They say the area is a hot area for dumping cars into the water. Over the past 11 years, weve ive seen probably six go in and ive seen the emergency recoveries and things like that. Authorities have not released the name of the person whose remains were found. The investigation is still underway. They blocked the fire truck, blocked the police cars. They stop in the middle of the intersection. Those those drivers cars, theyll stop at green light and not move or or they get behind. Thank you. Your time is up. I know. There hours of passionate debate at the California PublicUtilities Commission this afternoon in San Francisco, where the agency is set to decide whether to expand driverless taxi service in the city by crews and waymo. Jeff Jana Katsuyama in our newsroom now with the very latest on the debate. Jana. Heather this meeting started at 11 this morning and it is still going on. The debate is still going on. They are still hearing Public Comments at this moment. Now, crews right now is currently running about 300 taxis during the day and 100 at night. Waymo has about 100 taxis currently offering free rides. If the cpuc approves this measure, that would mean that the two companies would no longer have any limits on the number of Autonomous Cars that they operate in San Francisco. Now, opponents are arguing that the driverless taxis can be unpredictablend are not safe. Theyre talking about progress, say, for roads for all. Well, i would ask these people who are across the street looking at them, what about the cars that are stopping in the middle of the street . Is that safe . What about the cars that are stalling out . Is that safe . What about the cars that are blocking emergency exits . Is that safe for the visually impaired . Held a counter demonstration today. The National Federation of the blind says visually impaired riders often face discrimination by rideshare drivers. They say driverless taxis would eliminate that problem and also provide special features such as audio narration of the trip and car horns to help blind riders locate the vehicle. Were really excited about the potential that these vehicles have for transportation and accessibility and safety and general improvement for blind people with access to transportation in other advocates for the disabled said they want regulators to add more requirements that driverless taxis be accessible to people in wheelchairs. Now, supporters say that robotaxis are safer for single women and they argue that they are not subject to fatigue and impairment as live drivers are. Officials for gms cruise and Googles Waymo did testify on monday. They say that they have addressed reports of interference with emergency vehicles and they say overall they feel their robo taxis are less dangerous than cars that are operated by human drivers. We will be monitoring this meeting that is still going on at this hour and bring you an update at five. Okay. So jana, if this is approved, would there be any limits to their service . Well, if this vote goes the way of waymo and cruise, they could deploy an unlit limited number of taxis. They could also expand their hours of operation and be able to charge for all the rides in San Francisco. So there is a lot at stake with this vote today. And as you mentioned, the public debate continues. Well be following it and have the update hopefully on our later newscast. Jana, thank you. Theyve also added some menu items featured artists scheduled to perform include rapper Kendrick Lamar and foo fighters. Were also learning, though, that drag icon trixie mattel, has canceled her performance. Im not exactly sure why, except that sh has said it is because of unforeseen circumstances. All right. Well, a lot of people excited about outside lands this weekend in San Francisco, and they should be excited about the weather when we head toward tomorrow and saturday and sunday. This is a live look here at the golden gate bridge. You see that marine layer has taken hold there at the bridge. But mark is here to tell us that we are going to be warming things up in a significant way as we head toward outside lands and the weekend here in the bay area. Yeah, alex warming up inland but also get excited about the fog out towards the golden gate park. Yeah. This time of year you would expect some low clouds and fog and the cloud cover will be a factor, at least for tomorrow, to start things off with temperatures mainly in the lower 60s for afternoon highs. So heres the forecast as we take a look here. We have been had a little bit of a break from the heat over the past couple of days, but you can see temperatures definitely trending up for your weekend and sunday with the hottest day of the weekend. The warming will continue into early next week. And the short term, though, we actually have some interesting developments here. We have the typical low clouds, the low cloud deck just offshore near the shoreline. But look whats sneaking in from the south. Some high cloud cover, really watching all this moisture really closely over the next 12 to 18 hours. In the meantime, though, the fog is pushing back into the San Francisco bay for this evening. And take a look at all this activity to our south. This is a remnant moisture from what was once Tropical Storm eugene already moving into Southern California and central california. So the Central Coast here closer to San Luis Obispo. We have some green showing up. Even a few lightning strikes detected. And this moisture will be drifting to the north. And as a result, more clouds in the bay area forecast. And theres even a slight chance of an isolated shower. But the bulk of the activity should be focused closer to monterey bay. So maybe a better chance, closer to the santa cruz mountains. Thats for tonight and into your friday morning. Kurt numbers out there as we take a look at this fog bank. Santa rosa right now, 80 degrees. San francisco, the lower 60, 63 and san jose 82. Well bring in some cloud cover tomorrow, maybe some drizzle out there and temperatures to start out your friday morning in the 50 to the lower 60s. So we have that tropical moisture moving in. You can see kind of setting up a corridor. This area of High Pressure in the desert and also this area of low pressure offshore, setting up that upper level pattern to bring in all that moisture into a Southern California and possibly into the bay area. So for your friday, some scattered high clouds and it could feel a bit humid out there as this moisture moves in. And there is a slight chance of an isolated shower over the main focus will be just to the south. Heres a forecast model. Put this into motion. Its definitely bringing in some high clouds early tomorrow morning. The possibility of some drizzle. This is 7 a. M. Friday, mostly cloudy skies and then the clouds will probably break up throughout the afternoon hours tomorrow. Notice, though, heads up, if you are heading to the sierra lake tahoe and yosemite, those shower and thunderstorm chances will be going up for tomorrow. Take a look at the numbers for tomorrow as you can see, those readings ranging from the 60s, coast side, 70s around the bay and the 80s inland tomorrow could be a little bit cooler in a few spots and here is a look ahead to your five day forecast. We have the high clouds for your friday. Definitely warming things up by saturday. Warm to hot by sunday and into monday. So a bit of a break from the heat over the past couple of days, but looks like temperatures heating back up as we head into the weekend. Okay, mark, thank you. Still ahead right here on the four, a Teacher Shortage and learning loss. Just some of the issues facing School District says they begin a new year. State superintenden of public instruction tony thurman sharing the nerves and excitement of many parents and students statewide as a new School Year Kicks off. He acknowledges a number of challenges districts are facing, including worsening Teacher Shortages. This has been a big challenge for our thousand School Districts and our districts in the bay area. They have positions to fill. The department of education is hosting a teacher recruitment summit next week. Thurman also points to new state money for apprenticeship and Training Programs as well as sponsoring bills for more educators, housing and increasing pay for school staff. What is driving some of these shortages, and how can we as a state do better to not only hire but retain qualified teachers . So the trend of a Teacher Shortage is one that everyones been tracking nationwide since before the pandemic. It grew during the pandemic. A lot of times, you know, working conditions have been tough. You know, the number one thing we can do to attract more teachers is pay teachers better. Another focus recovering from learning loss caused by the pandemic. The states allocated nearly 8 billion for expanded learning, including before and after school programs. Thurmond said his focus the academic loss. Weve recruited the funds to recruit 10,000 Mental Health clinicians so we can address the social needs of our kids, the Mental Health needs of our students. Californias received billions of dollars in federal aid, the most of any state for districts pandemic recovery. It must be spent by fall of 2024, thurmond says. Theyre on track. We know that upwards of 90 of most districts have already spent that money, and in other cases, they may have identified how those dollars can be used. May i have as a point of order, as the board . Porter, this is not your meeting. You may have a seat. Because if i did that to you in sacramento, you would not accept it. Just weeks ago, thurman was kicked out of the Chino Valley Unified School board meeting. He spoke against a policy requiring administrators inform parents if their child identifies as transgender. The board approved the policy, which is now being investigated by the state attorney general. We care about local control. We care about balancing the rights of our of our parents, parents to have those well. We think hes a danger to our students. He continues to push things to create division between families. In the aftermath of the meeting, board president sonia shah said she received death threats. Thurmond said no one should ever receive threats for disagreements. How do we lower the temperature when it comes to issues like this . We need to do better in how we discuss all of these issues. We have to do so in a way that is civil. We can agree to disagree, but we dont have to be disagreeable. As National Conversations around book bans and inclusive curricula continue, thurmond said hes doubling down. Hes sponsoring a state bill that would make it more difficult to ban a book in schools and find districts that dont follow the guidelines. The framework was recently used to find the Temecula Valley district over its rejection of a textbook that includes the late gay rights leader harvey milk. There are people who are attacking Inclusive Education and what i want to really say to them and remind them is that Inclusive Education is a way to ensure that students do well. Thurmond also recently launched a task force for Inclusive Education. Greg lee, ktvu, fox two news. Coming up, a familiar face making an appearance at 49ers practice today after the break. Jason applebaum has the details about the team facing off against jimmy g joint practices and that man a return of sorts for quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. Jason applebaum here now with the details. Jason well, lots of interest in these joint practices, as you might expect. The 40 niners getting their first look at an old friend raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and garoppolo almost looked like he was still with the 40 niners wearing that familiar red number ten jersey red because thats the color signifying no contact but thats what all quarterbacks wear during training camp. Garoppolo reportedly had a great practice against his former mates, leading the raiders to a touchdown in his second drive. Brock purdy not bad either. A couple of touch downs and interception against the raiders. First string defense. Most of the talk afterwards about the jimmy g reunion. Its good to see old jim. Hes doing good. He looks healthy and good and just talking about, you know, how everything is here and how he loves it and how we miss him. Brock was a cool dude on and off the field, you know, he really i mean, as a rookie, he was pretty quiet off the get go, but he started to open up towards the end, especially once he started playing. We got to talk it up a little bit out there today. So he sounded like he was doing good. Yeah. Garoppolo without question. One of the most popular and beloved 49 ers in recent memory, never a bad word spoken about him and his five plus seasons in San Francisco in which he led the team to two nfc championships and a super bowl appearance. Jimmy was unbelievable here. I think he was the best quarterback here about 20 years since steve young as an unbelievable record and every time he played and stayed healthy, we were either in the super bowl or nfc championship game. That was my brothers. I love those guys. So we had a good time out there. Being you know, its on to vegas now. But yeah, i treasure those those times. Those are good times. I asked them, im like, jimmy, just give me one, man. All i want is one. He didnt give it to me today, so well see how tomorrow goes. Thats my guy, though. I mean, i love. I love jimmy. I love seeing him succeed. All right. Today, the first of two joint practices between the 49 ers and raiders before meeting sunday and the preseason opener for both teams. Neither garoppolo nor purdy expected to play in that one. All right, jason, thank you.
