Organizers of the protests are calling for changes to Police Department policies. They unleashed a full arsenal of weapons against this person and they only had a knife but they were shot and tased. The man was shot and taken to the hospital with critical injuries. Police are planning to hold a town hall meeting next tuesday and say they will release more information on the shooting including body camera video. A teenage suspect charged with shooting and killing two protesters in kenosha, wisconsin was given a jailhouse interview. Cyle rittenhouse told the Washington Post he used his coronavirus stimulus check to buy the gun used in the shooting. He and a friend went to kenosha to protect businesses during anti Police Demonstrations and says he has no regrets about bringing the gun. He says he would have died that night if he hadnt. The newark board voted to close ha snow elementary after the Current School year. The board voted to consolidate el music elementary the following year and transition six grade classes to newark to form a 6 through 8th grade. The closures are needed to because of the declining enrollment. We spoke with a teacher this morning at snow elementary. She said she is upset with how the school board is handling the situation. They decided to close our school last night at neating. They didnt say anything about the trouble it is for the teachers and students and families and community. There was no sorry or any kind of sympathy. It was just moving on, business as usual. Students at snow elementary will be transferred to graham which has enough space for the students. Closing the schools is expected to save the Newark School district 1 million, the district says it needs to cut 6 million. The president of the california chapter of naacp submitted her resignation.
