Is there still a chance . The 49ers think so. Mark ibanez is up next to tell us why the team believes they are still contenders, as players start to slowly come back from injury. How is it going, everybody. Mark ibanez with you from the vinyl room tonight. 49er football, they have to be kind of in survival mode, i would think right now, but if they could just get through the next game, maybe pull out a win against new orleans, they might number pretty good shape, playoff dreams still alive. They have a bye week coming after that, and soon after, they are going to be get something pretty big name players back and hopefully healthy. Like richard sherman, who returned to practice today. Hurt his calf, you remember, in the Season Opener against arizona. Still probably two to three weeks out. But the running back, Raheem Mostert and receiver deebo samuel could be back much sooner than that, all of the players, still plenty of hope, believe me. No matter what has happened this year, we still have a chance, and we still have this the next seven games, whatever the math comes tout, and were in a position where we can still be in it. And thats all that matters when counties down, and it the more that you go through the season, the more chances were going to have in the next couple of weeks to get guys healthy, and put in a position where we can show were capable of doing what we believe we can do. The warriors are looking forward to one week from tonight. The nba draft, and the Golden State Warriors are going to play a huge part in that, because they actually have the number 2 pick. It comes by virtue of having the worst record in the regular season. It remains to be seen if there will be a generational talent in the mix, but consensus, you would have to say the top two talents available, james wiseman, big sevenfoot center, pretty raw, didnt play a whole lot of college ball, and then theres the chiseled anthony edwards, who actually drawn comparisons to dwyane wade. Well see about that. Today bob myers, the general manager of the Golden State Warriors spoke about the draft day situation. Remember, im telling you this right now, general managers never really tell you anything before the draft. No tim duncan, where a guy is a senior, and hes going to be great and automatically, and you win now and win for the next 20 years. You owe it to the organization to build towards the future, and theres not an obvious win now guy, and if a win now guy helps you win four regular season games, whats the point of that . When youre talking about win now for us, youre really talking about win now in the playoffs. You look back in history, and it seems just about everything went right for the San Francisco 49ers back in the glory days of the 80s. When it didnt, it was definitely memorable. Here is joe fonzi with this day in sports history. Strange things happen when the 49ers and broncos met on a monday night on this day in 1985. The official in the action more than he would like, but get this call right on a joe montana to jerry rice pass. It was a snowy night at mile high stadium, and a fan hurled snowball disrupted a 49er field goal attempt that ultimately was the difference in the game. I dont know what you do with a field goal hitting your holder right as hes putting the ball down. The blown close held on to win 1716. Hey, this is the week, baseball back in the news.
