Dozens of students and parents showing up to tell Livermore Trustees they want classroom learning to resume. Other districts around us are doing it and i dont know why ours feels like they have to reinvent the wheel. Reporter the district has a plan to split Elementary Students who want to come back into morning and afternoon groups four days a week. Families can also choose to stay home. Everyone was asked to commit. A hybrid schedule was created along with many other options. This was determined to be the best for students that we know will still create challenges for families. Reporter explaining it to parents. The district wants classes will have to be remade. To make the overhaul worth it, to entry students must be willing and there are conditions. Many students may end up with a new teacher and new classmates. It is even possible some students may end up with a Different School entirely. We believe they are purposefully creating these obstacles. Whether its the union, the district, to dissuade parents from choosing the hybrid option. Reporter the county Health Officer says thats why theyre returning to restrictions. Outdoor bars without foods must close. Retailers must return to just 50 capacity. Shopping malls and courts 5 , gyms and Fitness Centers 10 in bowling alleys and Indoor Family Entertainment Centers and pools must close. We also are concerned there is some amount of covert fatigue going on where people are getting tired of the restrictions, tired of staying home, tired of wearing masks. That may be contributing to things as well. We are keeping six feet apart. We have a capacity of 10 , so we are keeping it at 40 for now. An extra cleaning, temperature tax and masks now part of the routine. What i would really like to see is just lets keep enforcing the coronavirus rules and protocols. Lets keep the cases down so we can come out of the pandemic and be stronger. You know what . Its life and sometimes youve just got to roll with it. Reporter roll with it indeed. It will take two weeks of monitoring before Contra Costa County could become eligible to move back into the orange tier. That puts it right before thanksgiving, but they are really helping people stake take steps to stop the spread. Santa cruz county also moved from the orange back to the red mac tier today. That means attractions which recently reopened will have to close. Restaurants that were allowed to be open at 50 capacity has been scaled to 25 . As a result, because of the behavior you are seeing an uptick. Reporter rollbacks are now necessary. Gyms and other indoor activities can stay open, but with reduced maximum capacities and now for the reopening of any icicles. But by far the biggest hit is on the restaurants. We have a lot of super frustrated, very upset members reaching out to me saying, how could this be . What could we do . We are going to go bankrupt and we will not have to lemony off. Reporter the school board is discussing a proposal that would force the superintendent to bring in a plan next month with the timeline for inperson learning. It is critical that we land on specific timelines and those milestones so that we have clarity. Our students are counting on us , our families are counting on us. Reporter the board hopes some special education students, preschoolers and kindergartners can begin in person classes by january 25th. We need to make sure we get our elementary and middle schools open as soon as possible. As mandated for hawaii , for all travelers, within 72 hours of her flight hamilton took a covid test to avoid quarantine. She chose a trusted site listed on hawaiis website, this walgreens in hayward. You do it through the drive through at walgreens. They give you the swab, you swab in. It is cold out there tonight, but not as cold as last night. You can probably tell. Temperatures right now are 10 to 12 degrees warmer than they were last night at this time. Its still cold, but look at these last nine numbers. 26 in penn grove, where i freezing or below freezing in the north bay. That is where the freeze warning was. Tonight there is a frost advisory in the north bay, so you are looking toward the north on the Golden Gate Bridge across the bridge into marin county. Youve got a frost advisory all the way up in the santa rosa and the dega bay area. Its called, but not as cold. Youll notice in the morning chilly, some fast. If you have fast this morning you will have it again tomorrow morning. Just because you dont have a frost advisory doesnt mean you wont get frost. And you dont have to get freezing to get frost. You ever notice how your car, the frost forms so quickly . Because the glass cools off extremely fast. It radiates heat and gets below a point, to a temperature frosts conform quickly. Certain services are good at that. 60 degrees in fairfield today, highs tomorrow will be significantly cooler than the. I think we will be in the low 60s and upper 50s. Cloudy out there, thats why its warmer, because of the cloud cover. Actually a little bit warmer. Its a lot warmer in many places. 34 in fairfield, 40 in antioch, kind of a nice night. Not as cold as last night. And these are the forecast has for tomorrow. Tomorrow is wednesday, right . So things change real quickly pick that sort of the headline outside of the cold. We get into some rain and it looks like friday into saturday. And then a little bit into next week is well. The pattern has shifted and we are in for somewhat weather. Not tomorrow, not thursday, but looks like it starts on friday. Coming up next here in sports, my former member of the San Francisco giants is suing the operator of oracle park because of this play. And get a flu shot, its even more important this year. We can do this. If we do it together. Hows it going, everybody . We certainly can only wish former giants outfielder Mike Williamson the best. It looks like his career has been cut short by an unfortunate, and in his mind and certainly a lot of other people, a very avoidable accident. It happened back in april of 2018. Remember, he was chasing a fly ball down the left field line and he tripped over the bullpen mound down there. A treacherous idea to put that down there. He hit his head, suffered a concussion and he still suffers the aftereffects of that. He is, in effect, suing the San Francisco giants because his career has basically been cut short and he never was able to get on track. Despite the fact that he actually had the gamewinning home run in the particular game. But he has been anything but fine since then. Trying to fight through the concussion over the past 2 1 2 years has been extremely difficult. Both personally and professionally. The injuries couldve been avoided. But for the parks failure to relocate the bullpens to where they belonged in the first place. The masters later this week and tiger woods there to defend his title. What a difference it would be. Usually the curve is in april and spring and acosta. This time were basically at thanksgiving and tiger woods is working his swing out. He has had some difficulties in his comeback from back surgery. This one is his only major win. He certainly remember that fondly for many reasons. I was walking out there just trying not to lose it and say hey ive still got the two pot this. When i walked off the back of the green, to see charlie there, we just opened up our arms. It meant a lot to me and still does. It just reminds me so much of me and my dad. And to come full circle like that, it still gets me a little teary. Will see how he does this time around playing it in november no less. Here is a call for, as you check this out, that i dont think needs to practice anymore. Though he has certainly been doing that all week. If you have not seen this as of yet, it is certainly worth a look and certainly another look here. This was that the part 360, skipping across the water under the green, rolling around. And that is john prom from spain. That happens to be on this 26th birthday and it is his second holeinone in a week. [ laughter ] that is to be a golf shot of all time. That comes off the water like that . What about an international mashup . Yeah, i kind of made like that on a miniature golf course. [ laughter ] there was a little pond and a bridge involved, but not quite the masters. That is just an incredible shot. It really is. You know, its just never again in hundred million years could you hit one like that. And how fun to happen on his birthday. Listen for the name john romm this week. Good night you guys. At night. She later. Youre still on that thing . What are you constantly looking at on your computer . Is that a question you really want people asking around here . Indeed, it is not.
