Lets talk a little bit about what the need is like right now for health. It is just incredibly a disaster. A major crisis. People literally have no money. You have people who have been working for minimum wage. Before this across. Who were already living in a crisis. Not being able to make rent and pay utilities and buy food. And so now you take away that minimum wage job with no retiremen savings. Its just sad. To know that were living in a time and in a country thats so wealthy, yet the hardestworking people other ones who are most affected and have literally nothing to survive on. It really is such a sad reality. Talk a little bit about how demand has been increasing over the last few months. So we started in may. We started the Mission Food Hub at 701 alabama street, with 500 families that we were giving groceries to, once a week. By the end of may, the lines grew to over 3,000 families. Coming to get food. And in june, it increased to 5,000. And the lines just kept growing in august, september. And notice we are servicing 7,000plus families. Wow. Three days a week. On monday, wednesdays and friday. Last week, i got calls from seven different principals ask figure we could service their asking if we could service their families and their schools. And i says of course. Because we dont turn anybody down. We dont ask for ids. Were just helping people who are in need. Yeah. So the fact is that we cannot allow people to go hungry. People already are depressed, theyre suicidal, the anxiety level is up. And their frustration level is up. And so food is one of the most beautiful things that we could provide human beings right now. Because its a human right. But most important, food makes you feel comfort. You know . And i know that in spanish we say [ speaking Foreign Language ] that means if your tummy is full, you have a happy heart. Lets talk about a little bit, roberto, how about how all of us here at home can help. What is needed right now . So theres a couple ways that people can help. One is by making a donation. Were buying food every day. But were smart. We stretch our dollar out. We buy 50pound bags of rice, 50pound bags of beans and oatmeal. And then we have volunteers that actually chop that up and make tenpound bags. So you could make a cash donation to help us buy food. Or you can come and volunteer. Also were starting to launch our turkey drive. Because we want to make sure every family has maker thanksgiving. And were also launching our toy drive because we want to make sure that every child has a toy at christmas. So much need is out there. Really appreciate what youre doing. Keep up the great work. And we want to let people at home know that if they would like to help, the Mission Food Hub with a monetary donation, go to our website. Ktvu. Com.
