Just in the past 15 minutes,. Trump returned to the white house. Four days after he was transported to Walter Reed Hospital, so that doctors are could monitor his covid19 symptoms. His doctors say the president is undergoing an aggressive treatment regimen, including an experimental antibody drug along with remdesivir. His doctors did say that that the president is not out of the woods jet will be getting around the clock care at the white house. At least 13 people around that event where the president announced his Supreme Court pick have tested positive for covid19. The first lady, the president s aide, hope hicks, nick luna, and bill stepian, as well as several gop senators have all o Lauren Blanchard, live in washington d. C. , where, lauren, we just watched President Trump alive back at the white house. Reporter right, alex, and one interesting thing we heard from reporters as the president walked out of walter reed, a reporter shouted how many people in your administration are sick, something to that and everybody the president did not answer. Of course thats what is really gripping the white house right now as the president returns home tonight, just trying to figure out exactly how many people have become infected. We knew that there were going to be more positive cases. The chief of staff, mark meadows, told everyone that last week, that there was going to be more of these positive cases. The president s physicians, his team of medical experts, believed it was going to be just as safethe president to return home to the white house residence as it would be for him to be in walter reed, so as you just saw moments fee, the president walked back to the white house. It will be very interesting, alex, to see what the president says. We believe he has probably talked to the white house pool. Were waiting for that tape to turn around and see if he has any remarks. But hell be back tonight with the first lady, who is also cornering in the white house, and his physicians said really its going to be after this weekend that will really be the telling sign of how he is doing. You know, what the president is going to do in terms of isolating himself within the white house now that he is back there . Obviously there are still a lot of other staffers and other people in that white house there, and you have to keep them safe. Right, exactly. And the president is expected to stay in the white house residence. Im not quite sure if he is planning to go into the oval office at all, but he is expected to be surrounded by medical teams who are going to be watching him 24 7 to make sure that there are no, you know, instances where his Health Starts to decline again. But we are still just waiting, honestly, at this point for more information to come out of the white house. Theyre being pretty tight lipped at this point exactly the president will be working precisely, who, exactly, is going to be surrounding him, whether the chief of staff will be in there. We did see the chief of stuff on marine 1 just now, so we know they have been in somewhat close contact. All right. And lastly here, lauren, let me ask you about what efforts are underway right now to do Contact Tracing, especially, you know, as you look back at that white house rose garden ceremony that we saw the prior weekend, when the president announced his Supreme Court pick. Obviously a lot ofbecome sick with the coronavirus. Out how m people might have been infected . Reporter right, well, thats kind of an interesting point, alex. Tonight were hearing reportings that the white house is not trying to do some really extensive Contact Tracing on that particular event. So they are trying to pull back from some of those cdc recommendations. As for when got its to capitol hill, because thats where a lot of these folks spread out to, they have also been asking for more robust and mandated testing on capitol hill. There is some disagreement between republicans and democrats on who should be tested and how regularly. It seems like every few hours we get another positive case. So d. C. Is very much grappling with that right now, and trying to stop its spread, but right now, alex, its just trying to figure out exactly who has it, where did they go, who did they talk to . Yeah, a lot of work to do on that front. All right, Lauren Blanchard live for us in washington tonight. Thank you. Lets talk more enough to about the president s health and covid19 treatment with Emergency Room Physician dr. Larry burchett. Thank you so much for being here, doctor. The president s personal doctor insists that the president is well enough to leave the hospital and return to the white house. Knowing what we know about the president s condition, would you have allowed him to leave the hospital . Heather, i think the first thing to point is that the average american would never have been admitted to the hospital in the first place. Theyve told us that initially his oxygen the president s oxygen level dropped to 94, 93 . Most people, if thats all that it is with covid, are still okay to go home. Now, this is the president of the need. They were worried with covid, was he going to get a lot worse, and they wanted him not to be in the white house, but in a hospital, so that makes sense, but i dont know that i would have admitted an average person with his condition in the first place. Now, the weekend, he clearly got better. His symptoms of fever and cough, they got better. His oxygen level, if it was 399 and 4, i heard numbers like 96, 98. Thats back to normal. He looks pretty good. It makes sense to me that he is being discharged today and going back to the white house where they can continue to monitor him. Its not like hes going to an average residence where there wont, you know, at his disposal have all kinds of monitoring and medical capabilities. I think thats appropriate. So, you know, there are still a lot of questions, dr. Larry, about, you know, the president s illness, how serious it may be or may not be. But from the information released so far, what might his treatment consist of over the next few days while hes there at the white house . Well, they already initiated him on a course of two well, three things. He got one dose of regeneron, an experimental type of medication. Ive never seen a patient get that yet. That was one dose and done. They said hes going to complete a course of two key medicines that we really give to all sick covid patients. Really sicker than him. Were talking need to be the hospital on oxygen. Trump was never really that thick. One of those medicines is a steroid. So hell finish a course of that, maybe 7 or 10 days. Make some doctors stop it when patient no, sir longer need oxygen, so its unclear how much off that 4th is going to get, and then he is going to complete a fiveday course of remdesivir, the antiviral medicine. So those will be the two meds hell get in addition to things like vitamin d and has spring some of those other ms, and then theyll just keep an eye on him. Monitor his oxygen saturation, check his vitals and how he is feeling every day. All right, dr. Larry, im sorry, we have to end the conversation there, but thank you so much for coming on to talk to us about the president. Really appreciate it. Thank you. Thanks, heather.
