Now we are already seeing an onshore flow, kind of a south southeasterly wind at the lower elevations and other elevations. So all layers of the atmosphere flowing everything towards these. Words in it that three people have died in a fire that is forced thousands from their homes. The bear fire is part of the north complex fire burning east of paradise in butte county. Strong winds caused a flare up yesterday in the bear fire exploded of an eight. County sheriff says one person was found dead in a car trying to escape the flames. Two more people were found in another location. The fire leveled the foothills town of perry creek, destroying the store, fire station and school. Some 20,000 people enter evacuation warnings and orders. Tonight, cal fire urged people to listen and follow orders. When we talk about evacuations, every single fire, bulldozer and fire engine becomes a premium resource. We need to use those premium resources where they are most effective. We cannot be using premium resources to assist in rescues for people who refuse to evacuate. The north complex fire started three weeks ago and burned more than 250,000 acres with containment currently at 38 . The town of paradise is in the path of those flames. Evacuation warnings are in effect for parts of paradise and con cow. We are told many people have already left. The town was under a power shut off and residents were worried they would be able to get updated information. We found others packed up today and ready to go. There has been a line of cars all day. People hauling boats, trailers, trucks full of stuff. Theres just been people packing up and going just in case. I have some stuff in my car. Just those things i cant live without. The deadly camp fire back in 2018 killed 85 people and destroyed nearly 14,000 homes. Governor newsom says 14,000 firefighters are now on the fire lines in california with more favorable conditions i had. We are encouraged that the wind activity appears to be dying down, which is encouraging. The rest of the week looks a little more favorable from a wind perspective and a weather perspective. That will aid our efforts on these 28 major fires in the state. Three wildfires in Northern California are the focus of the greatest concern. They are the north complex in plumas and butte counties and two new fires, the fork fire in El Dorado County and the will of fire in yuba county. The Forest Service says they are now closing all 18 National Forests in california because of the fires. On monday eight forests were closed due to the unprecedented fire conditions. The Fourth Service says the shutdown will help protect firefighters in the public. For the north dozens of wildfires in oregon have destroyed hundreds of home and left nearly 100,000 homes and businesses without power. The Oregon Office of Emergency Services says at least 35 wildfires are burning across the state, including fires near the cities of eugene, salem and medford. Most of medford remains under an Evacuation Order tonight. The governor of oregon said today this could be the most severe wildfire season and that states history.
