Topping the news this morning, the largest set of fires, the scu lightning complex, now, evacuation orders have been reduced for some counties, down from mandatory to warnings. That includes areas east of highway 101 all the way to metcalf road. The scu fires have burned many square miles. It is 15 contained. The fires stretch across seven counties, including contra costa and Santa Clara County. The cz you lightning fires to the west cover 123 square miles of san mateo and santa cruz counties. This morning at 6 00, cal fire will hold a daily news conference. They hope todays weather will be just as helpful to them as it was yesterday. Pilots were able to fly more. They were able to drop more water and fire retardant because of the clearing. The cz you fire is 13 contained. We left with the clothes on our back. We grabbed a couple pieces of clothing. I did take some of my animals out at the time. 600 evacuees are sheltered at the fairgrounds in whortonsville. They are helping rescue animals, including these miniature horses. So far, 276 homes have been destroyed. 16 firefighters are now battling the flames on the ground and in the air. With the weather that we had, it really led us to get in there and do a lot of good work. It was the best day yet. We were able to drop 200,000 gallons throughout the day in Fire Suppression activities. Authorities have recovered and identified a man who died in the fire over the weekend, 73yearold thad jones, a vietnam war veteran. His body was found on a trail near his van. Later today, firefighters will hold a news briefing, giving us an update on the ellen you complex fires. As the containment grows, many evacuees in Sonoma County and parts of the north bay are being allowed to go back home. Many evacuation orders in the area are now downgraded to warnings. The yellow part on the map youre looking at shows the evacuation warnings. The red area is for mandatory evacuations. Many of the evacuees in these fires are going back home. They are finding nothing. Almost everything they own is gone. Rubble, yeah, nothing survived. This was the scene as bob and his wife came back to a pile of debris that used to be their home in vacaville. Their friends and neighbors are helping with food, clothing and other items. Black lives matter hundreds of streets people took to the streets of kenosha. Neighbors say jacob blake was trying to get into a car when police shot him multiple times. Overnight, protesters smashed windows and broke into businesses. More than 100 Wisconsin National guard troops were sent to kenosha overnight. No folks will be making their voices heard in communities across wisconsin. Every person should be able to make their voice heard. They should report on these calls to action without fear of being unsafe. Lake is in critical condition. Two of the officers involved have been placed on administrative leave. Dozens of protesters in Downtown Los Angeles marched against police shootings. The demonstration stayed peaceful. They marched from city hall to police headquarters. They were protesting the shooting of jacob blake. They were also protesting for a man who was fatally shot during a traffic stop. Police in portland, oregon declared a riot.
