This afternoon governor gavin newsom declared a state of emergency. He said the state is the playing every resource available to Keep Community safe. This comes as a record heat wave is putting a strain on californias power supply with the threat of rolling blackouts. Hundreds are under Evacuation Orders in napa county were three large fires are burning east of the napa valley. Cal fire says at least three structures have been destroyed, lightning strikes are being blamed for all of those fires, which have burned more than 12,000 acres so far. Napa county has set up an evacuation site at Crosswalk Church in downtown napa. Here is a look now at where the fires are burning. Another group of fires called the scu lighting conference complex is in alameda, contra costa and alameda counties. Those have burned 25,000 acres. There is no threat to structures and no Evacuation Orders. Cal fire is also working a fire in mendocino county. The creek fire has burned about 200 acres and one structure has been destroyed. The fire at highway 162 in short creek road is 5 contained at this hour. The excessive heat warning stays in effect through tomorrow night at about 9 00. It is not going to be as hot tomorrow. You may notice it outside already, temperatures high as they have been. It will be a little bit cooler. What is missing here . There is no fog along the coast. Without the fog we stay pretty hot. Temperatures today got into the 105, 106, 107 range. Temperatures tomorrow more like 101, 100 and the hot spots. The plan tomorrow is less cloud cover, less humidity.
