The staff there has until mondayat this is the equivalent of the shutdown in houston. Theres an fbi arrest warrant for chinese researcher at uc davis, who may be hiding in San Francisco at the chinese consulate. The fbi says that when the researcher explained she had no connection with the chinese military, investigators had also said that photos were abound of her wearing a military uniform. The chief wants people to be part of the solution to the 911 problem, as residents grapple with that, they have their fate and their own hands when it comes to the Police Commission area councilmembers unanimously loosely approved changing within the charter and removing the Chiefs Authority to override the Police Commission and counsel during emergencies. The proposed change would allow the commission to hire their own inspector general, not the city administrator. When the city of San Francisco was put on the watchlist because of a spike in covid19, indoor malls had to close. San francisco clarified with the state that the Ferry Building is actually a transportation terminal. Transportation terminals are considered essential and can stay open. Now, 26 stores and restaurants are able to open and they are allowed to have customers inside, but they must practice social distancing. Everyone must wear a mask. There are hand sanitizing stations and extra cleaning measures in place, and the Farmers Market is open as well. Sad news this morning, about a sheriffs deputy who has been fighting for his life during the pandemic. Deputy oscar brooch died last night after battling for three weeks with covid19. Officials did not tell us the name of the inmate or give us any other information about this. This comes as work is beginning to deep clean san quentin. The Southern California parole board is recommending that a Charles Manson follower be given freedom, after being given 50 years in prison.
