The California Department of correction said that john beames died yesterday, he was 67 years old. He had spent 25 years on death row for a murder. He is the 14th inmate to die from the coronavirus since the outbreak began at the prison two months ago. San quentin has 857 cases of the coronavirus. Which is down from two days ago. As inmates continue to recover from the virus. More than 2000 inmates tested positive since the outbreak began. More disturbing use from the bay area nursing home where dozens of residents have contracted the coronavirus. Six residents at the marin nursing facility have now died. A total of 11 patients from that facility have died according to state figures. 11 more residents are currently affected for total 66 residents and 20 staffers who tested positive. Hospitalization rates are on the rise in some bay area counties. Alameda, santa clara, and contra costa have more than 100 patients in the hospital. This is our top concern in the state, issue of equity. This pandemic has shown significant inequities in our Public Education system. Havent the Digital Divide is commonly defined as the began between students and community goose have devices between high Speed Internet and those who dont. Those who dont are often in poor or rural communities, disproportionately affecting communities of color. If people have ability to make decisions and make sure that everyone has equal access to internet, we need to do that and need to deet now. That is why it is so critical that School District goes out, purchase in the equipment that will be needed for their students and then theyll be reimbursed by the state of california.
