A standard use of policy, use of force policy, and a Warning System to identify those officers who need more training and mentoring. Should there be more . The answer is yes. And i think there will be. But its a good start to actually get to the table and start having this conversation. What they are doing now is stepping up and doing the things that those of us concerned about Police Reform have been pushing for for use. So on the one hand its nice they are on board. I do question their motivations , so you know, lets see if they will walk the walk. That plan comes during the continuing National Debate over due up and icing and defunding Police Departments. Meantime former San Francisco mayor, willie brown, calls the push to defund the police one of the dumbest ideas of alltime. Lawmakers on capitol hill are focused on passing a criminal Justice Reform bill. Senator tim scott is leading the republican effort to come up with a new legislation. If we do it right i think we can reduce the number of times that we are dealing with misconduct on the top of the permits. If we dont do it right, then well have the same situation, where there is no law. We can do better than that as a nation, and we will.
