San Francisco Police announced last night they arrested 20 people merging outside the hall of justice for violating the citys 8 00 p. M. Curfew and there were other demonstrations in the city including a daytime march at the great highway on the coast. No arrests were made. There are now five bay area counties with curfew orders. Contra costa and solano from 8 00 p. M. Until five a. M. No one is allowed and san mateo from 8 30 p. M. Till 5 30 a. M. Alameda is earlier. There is no countywide curfew in Santa Clara County but cities of san jose and palo alto have their own between 830 and 5 00 and a full curfew list if you want to check it out at ktvu. Com. San francisco supersize officers will decide weather to curtail or extend the brief curfew. Under San Francisco law the board has up to seven days to approve the mayors order which will be expiring on sunday. The curfew is needed since looting and vandalism do occur at night but supervisors say they dont want to give the mayor a blank check and they are concerned about First Amendment rights. We are waiting for an update from San Jose Police after police were detained for violating the citys curfew order there. There was heavy Police Presence in the downtown area with officers in patrol cars and motorcycles and at times demonstrators went in and out of traffic and right near city hall. An Oakland Police are reporting no protest problems. Officers did not make any arrests or issue any citations and they announced there are no reports of violence, damage, including her burglaries. Earlier in the day hundreds gathered and march to police headquarters. Demonstrations remain peaceful. Solano county bringing in the National Guard and 50 troops rolled into vallejo and the counties at the National Guard will assist in preventing looting and businesses throughout the area. Additional resources will have the Sheriffs Department and local police departments. Yesterdays protests were mostly peaceful as people called for justice for george floyd. We are here for a reason and the purpose. We want to live and we do not want to die. What black lives matter, all lives matter. The merge culminated in a rally at city hall and demonstrators say they want the message to resonate beyond the rally. A group of young demonstrators rally together in livermore and they gathered at the corner of first and it included a moment of silence for george floyd and other victims of police brutality.
