They are marching to downtown oakland and then to the Police Department which is at the end of broadway. Officers lined up inside of their vehicles as protesters marched with signs demanding justice for george floyd. Curfews are in place in at least 10 bay area cities and counties. Curfew and san jose will be under curfew the next week following more than 100 arrests. Today the oakland mayor declared a curfew as well and explained she had no other choice. A curfew went into effect in walnut creek about 30 minutes ago. We dont know how police will handle the curfew and the protesters stopping traffic. We can only hope it plays out peacefully. We will bring you any new information as we get it. Hayward police shot and went to the suspect at a drugstore early this morning while investigating reports of looting. Henry lee tells us it is a later shooting involving the department in recent weeks. Reporter the hayward Police Department is investigating its third officer involved shooting. This cluster is a red flag that cannot be ignored. Anytime you have a rash of Police Shootings and in particular one department it should be cause for concern. It happened just after midnight along seventh street. No one was injured in the incident. The suspects fled to an Apartment Building where they were arrested. Overall, police in oakland said they took 60 people into custody last night. They are accused of crimes ranging from vandalism to looting and possession of firearms. One officer was injured and taken to the hospital. The Department Says he will be okay. And bill scott says there were 33 felony arrests in the city and 87 people were arrested for curfew violations.
