Several Companies Recently announced new policies to allow them to work from home even after the pandemic. As we approach the end of the month, many may need protections but not everyone is following the rules they were subject to outrageous behavior by landlords she said she was terrorized by her landlord. I woke up and i couldnt talk. I went to the hospital. They said i had covid19 she was diagnosed and told her to selfquarantine in march she notified her landlord and asked her not to enter or rent the room next to him because of safety. Sick and with nowhere to go, she continued to quarantine when her actions became more erratic prompting her to call police several times then she recorded this video showing her trying to break in through the window. Its not the first time. The attorney stepped in ordering the landlord to cease the unlawful conduct. Still things escalated. She came downstairs banging on the door, your quarantine is over and took the doorknob off of the door and started banging on the door. This is outrageous behavior by the landlord in this case. Butler recovered and hired an attorney. She emailed us denying the allegations saying she climbed through the window because she needed to make a repair. Were seeing this time and time again, landlords are panicking about the virus and not collecting rent and tenants breaking leases and panicking about tenants who are sick they are representing one who began renting a room four months ago. You seem to be nice people and they said, yeah, you same for us also, you seem to us is also nice. After wrapping up his workweek classified as an essential worker he wanted to clear his head so he got into his car and started driving toward nampa when his landlord said he locked him out. Accused him of violating the order by taking a drive. I said you cant do that. Its illegal. You cant do that. He said we can do whatever we want. I said if you do that, i have to call the cops police came and tried to resolve the situation but she refused to let him back in. He said im okay to give them the rent and im going the pay them the deposit. And i told them that i dont need money, i need shelter. We called the landlord, she said she didnt trust him and gave her the right to a immediate eviction. The eviction center has been flooded from tenants facing situations like this. They are protected by moratoriums i believe the moratorium is clear that there cannot be any evictions during this time until you have someone what is really threatening the lives on the property. The stress of their situations lingers it didnt feel safe any more. She changed the locks and didnt give me the new combination to the gate her behavior was very, very not normal. In the end, its karma. Fox 2 news. A presentation of the National Memorial day concert unlike any other celebrating heros on the front lines of the crisis along with the troops currently serving our veterans and americans who lost their lives for our nation joining us is gary, thank you for joining us. So nice for you to be here how is this years concert different from last years . Thank you for having me. Normally, we are out on the front lawn of the capitol, we have 2000 people out there watching the concert live. Its live on the east coast and repeated on the west coast but this year, we cant do that. So honoring our defenders and men and women who sacrificed in freedoms defense is something that is very, very important. That is what memorial day is about. Its not the Memorial Day Sale or the barbecue or anything. Although those things are important, was can do that because of the sacrifices of the men and women who have kept us free. This show is our nations collective opportunity to come together and watch these tributes that we put together. While we cant do it live this year, we have 30 years worth of content to pull from and concerts does a wonderful job producing the show and pulled many wonderful performances, kind of dramatic readings, that kind of thing we do in the show. They pulled a bunch of them together from shows in the past and joe and i, we got together at my office with two of my camera guys that shoot in the videos and it was just them, the two of them and joe and i in this office and we shot our segments for the show. Theyre going to cut those in. And then we introduce them from the past and it feels, while joe and i wont be live, it will feel like the concert is live because so much of it, its all from the past. When we did shoot it live on stage were also going to pay tribute to the men and women fighting this covid19 pandemic. Can you tell us a little more about your work with the foundation during this pandemic. Have things changed because you cant be out doing things in person. But does that work continue . Absolutely. I started a foundation in 2011. Supporting our First Responders was something important to me from the beginning. We have a First Responder Outreach Program that is a very devoted to supporting our emts, our firefighters, the police, people who defend our cities and protect us all. We supply equipment for them year around, all around the country. The small Fire Departments most of the Fire Departments in this country are volunteer Fire Departments they dont have big budgets to buy equipment to keep them safe when theyre fighting fires they go through a lot, a lot of difficult things. Now theyre fighting this fight, this covid19 fight along with the health cara camp emergency covid19 combat service we raised additional money and we continue to raise additional money and we pass the money onto those who need it by providing face shields and masks and personal protective equipment and decontamination and meals and hospitals all over the country. A lot of things happening. While we cant travel now, that doesnt stop us from doing the good works we have to leave it there, thank you for joining us for mornings on 2.
