We do have a combination of low clouds and high clouds that are marching over us right now. That is leading to a big trend in the cooler air yas. Students were sent home and dorms have been empty since. According to reports, 35 people will move in, but the goal is to eventually house 150 people in an effort to prevent the spread of the virus. The San Francisco Unified School District board passed a measure to allow the city to house Homeless People during the coronavirus pandemic. Bay Area Health Officials plan to make some modifications to part of the shelter in place orders that are set to continue all the way through the month of may, but we dont know exactly what types of changes they are going to announce or how soon they may go into effect but we expect to have more information by noon today. It may have something to do with relaxed restrictions about Outdoor Activities while still requiring people to keep up physical and social distancing. But in the meantime, here is what marin countys Health Officer said about this topic at a covid19 update to supervisors last night. The plan is to extend the shelter in place but with some modifications. We know that there are some activities that are lower risk, things outdoors for example. It is much easier in out door activities and that has been taken into account. The Health Officer says there are 224 cases of covid19 in the county. There have been 12 deaths since the pandemic began. Residents have flattened the curve of the cases over the last six weeks. Other bay area counties will be part of the announcement about an official extension with some modifications because since the start of these shelter in place orders, six bay area counties and the city of berkeley with its own Health Department have been unified in their decision about these orders. Chp said the shooting appears to have been between people in two separate vehicles, a honda and infinity. No word what led up to the sheeting. A 20yearold in the infinity was shot and killed, a 19year old suffered major injuries. The driver of the honda was also shot and injured chp did close all westbound lanes but all those lanes did reopen. Californias governor reopened his plan to begin reopening some parts of californias economy. His hope is to have the School Year Start earlier than usual. Now to San Francisco where the school board there has passed a measure allowing the city to house people who are homeless on School District land during the pandemic. It is called the safe sleeping sites resolution and it would allow vacant lots to be used for tent camps. The city of board of supervisors says something needs to be done to help people who are homeless. As of yesterday, 928 homeless or marginally housed people are safely sheltered in hotel rooms while huge encampments line the streets all over San Francisco and we learn of new outbreaks every week. They have been pressing the mayor to come ply with another recent ordinance to put the roughly 8,000 homeless residents into vacant hotel rooms but it poses security, staffing and logistical problems with no easy answers. Last night there are 224 cases of covid19 in marin county right now and there have been 12 deaths since the pandemic began, but that residents there have successfully flattened the curve and that is why they will relax some things.
