The governor says some School Districts have not been able to adapt to Distance Learning and many homes do not have the technology needed. Several bay area School Districts already start the year in mid august but the announcement caught educators and families by surprise. There was a lot of feedback on social media, many people are not on board with the early start to the school year, some question whether it is safe and others wonder how it will work, Governor Newsom says schools would have to set up classrooms to support social distancing and other changes to move forward with the plan. We need to start preparing for the physical changes in the schools and environmental changes in the schools that are necessary in order to advance the conversation and make it more meaningful. Reopening schools is on the map to lift the order. Governor newsom stl has not given a specific timeline when other businesses and places might reopen. He says we are weeks away, not months from lifting restrictions and new details on the states latest plan, businesses that can easily accommodate social distancing will reopen first including retail stores.
