People are saying that cvd can be a treatment for the coronavirus. All of us understand there is no cure and no vaccine and no treatment right now for the coronavirus. Any claims about cvd or any products are without a shred of scientific evidence. How can people using cvd put themselves at greater risk for the coronavirus . Cvd is not a benign substance. Is shown to have some negative qualities. The purity of the products have not been okayed by the fda or any other agency. So when a test was made of 240 of the leading cvd products, 70 of them have contaminants including lead, arsenic, toxic mold and other ingredients that are pretty. Most consumers would want to stay away from them. But in addition to that, cvd theres only one approved product that came through the fda. It was through a very laborious and rigorous process. Its to treat a childhood form of epilepsy. The fact is none of the cvd products that are on the market have been approved by the fda and none of them have met the good manufacturing standards that we expect from all the products we buy. We are telling consumers, stay away from the cvd products for now. At some point down the line if the evidence is there and we have Science Behind the products. Consumers can buy them when we know that they have been approved and they have good manufacturing process standards. Any product that is claimed to treat coalbed the coronavirus is a fraud and a scam. We want consumers to stay away from the products. How do you want consumers to say this helps me get through the day it eases pain. Now they are being told to watch out what they are putting in their bodies. We have friends, i have them to thats whereby the products and say they treated their arthritis or insomnia. I was say placebo has a very strong effect on many of us. The Washington Post has tracked every covid19 case. They have an in depth analysis of the first 1000 people who were killed by the virus. We are joined alive about the recording and research. Good morning abigail. Good morning. To in the bay area we have seen families hit and Nursing Homes hit. We see people across the country. What struck you the most about what you were able to find x what was most interesting to us was not that some of the things that weve heard like this affects older people and people with certain pre existing conditions like diabetes and Heart Disease are more vulnerable. That we saw in the results of our analysis. But what surprised me was how many people were not easily put into one of those categories. I spoke with the relatives of men and women in their 30s and 40s who died, who left behind young children. Some people did not really have a clear preexisting condition. So that was noteworthy to me. It seems like everyone is impacted by the virus. When you look back to late february, we had the two confirmed deaths in washington. And then in a month we had 1000 people and then even today there were more than 23,000 dead in the United States. What did you learn about how quickly the virus moved . Looking at just the accumulation of deaths. It took us a full month to go from two deaths to 1000. And then it only took two weeks to get to 15,000. And where we are today. So thats really startling. That shows you something about how quickly the virus moves through communities and from one person to the next and how easily it can be transmitted. It shows how important the shelter at home orders are that we experience across the country. In the bay area when i look back early was on the San Francisco 49ers. I heard talk about if the 49ers won the super bowl there wouldve been a parade. All those people together. When i look at that from the first early days, the three big west coast cities and the new york city on the east coast and new orleans and mardi gras, new orleans was hit very hard. Is there something to say why these major cities were hit early and by chance we may have saved some lives by not having big events . The numbers suggest that San Francisco did save lives, the citys dodged a larger bullet by locking things down really early. When we look back at those numbers and in february, late february and march, the first cluster was emerging in washington. You would think that washington would be hardest hit. The west coast would be where the crisis bulk of the deaths have been in new york. And new jersey. We are seeing a spike in michigan and louisiana. These are all places, certainly dense populations but also where there were key events like mardi gras in new orleans that was allowed to proceed. Behind every death there is a story. Unfortunately we had to do some reporting on those. It is an interesting look and extensive look at the first thousand deaths in the United States. Abigail, we appreciate your time thank you very much. Thank you for having me. Hayward nursing home dealing with an outbreak of covid19 cases could face a lawsuit.
