Make San Francisco supervisor says thats why he and other city officials are trying to partner with hotels to fill those rooms. They home orders are in place to stop the coronavirus transmission but many people on medical quarantine, first responders, single room occupancy residents, and the homeless, need a place to stay. He says the city has called on hotels to offer up their rooms. The Emergency Operations center and Human Services agency are trying to negotiate the cost with some funding from state and federal grants to help the homeless. To make the Hotel Workers union says many members are looking for work. Make 9000 members are working in hotels, and that cuts have been quite deep. But not today, officials have closed recreation areas for their parking lots as they encourage people to stay home.
