The governor of new york now says they have started trials of hydroxychloroquine on the six patients. Is is a big deal . I would like to focus that people have questions about this. I want to remind everyone that these medications are still in trial. They are being used for people who are very, very sick. It is just a trial. We dont have any data on these medications, whether they are effective, how safe they are. What i want to send out there for our viewers as a messages, please dont use these medications if you have found a way of getting them just as a treatment for yourself or in case you think you have coronavirus or you are positive, please dont use it without proper guidance. There are various series side effect. You cannot be using it without your position saying you should be doing it. Lets go to our viewer questions. After hearing the president talk about opening the economy back up within weeks, they asks, is there a timeline for california or even the north bay to resume our lives as previous, or do we know if california is looking to continue our quarantine throughout april . Let me answer that question in a different way. I want to make sure that we all understand how we act today is going to determine what our future holds for us. If we all obey what we are being asked to, to stay home, limit all social interaction, and only go out we need to, if we do that, if all of us do that together, then maybe we can loosen the mandate a little bit in the next coming weeks, maybe months. But all of that is going to be dependent on how we act now. If we are able to lunch the curve, maybe things will be a little better in the next few weeks or months. If we dont and we think, im okay, im healthy, i can do whatever i need to do, things can get pretty bad here. We might be following in the footsteps of new york. Another person wrote us and said, i am wondering if there is a test or if there will be a test to see whether someone has already had the coronavirus and is immune to it . If there are people who show little to no symptoms, there might be a lot of people who had the coronavirus without realizing it that are already immune. The person says it seems to me that knowledge of how many people are already immune would be useful in knowing whether we are anywhere close to having immunity to this illness. The short answer is no, we do not have a test to see people are immune to coronavirus. However, this is a very fluid situation. Right now, from what we are understanding, your degree of immunity in the future to the coronavirus is perhaps linked to how serious of a virus, of an infection you got this time around. If you had a very serious infection this time around, you make have the ability to have an immune response next time. If you do get infected neck year, you will not have a series a reaction. Maybe you will have less of a reaction to coronavirus. We just dont have the answers to all of those questions right now. We believe it there. Thank you for talking is to tonight. Thank you. Please keep sending us your questions. We have a team that is working to answer them. You can email us at newstips foxtv. Com. She is the ceo and owner of red oak realty. Thank you for being with us. It is anything but normal these days. There is so much uncertainty out there. How is that affecting the Housing Market . Its absolutely affecting the Housing Market. Right now, we are seeing pretty incredible fire demand, and that has not decreased as much as we would have expected it to. You have to realize that we launched this year 30 down in inventory. There is pentup fire demand. That being the case, the bay area counties went into shelter in place first in the nation. We saw that on last monday. I think that was the 16th or 17th. After that, we saw a massive decline in listings. Week over week, we have seen new listings coming to market dropping by 56 . That is concerning. While we have also seen is that there has been an increase in fire pending of 1 . Strangely enough, there is still actually buyer demand, but it is very challenging to see homes right now. With all this volatility, and spring is a competitive Housing Market, white right now in this volatile market would you give people who are thinking about buying or selling a home before all of this started . Its a totally different america now. We can still say that there is the opportunity to put your property on the market and try and move forward. Thats still an option. But what i need to be clary very clear with his that open houses, buyer showings, anything like those activities, they are illegal right now. The governor has said that these are things we are not allowed to do. As a company, we are taking that incredibly seriously. Right now, first and foremost, taking care of our agents, our staff, and our clients. The only way that you can move forward it to do that all digitally and try to stay on a digital platform and get as close as you possibly can to recording that property. How is that working. You said a lot of people we have seen, personal stools, staging thing, how is that going so far . It is not the best way to sell real estate. We have two pivots we are going to move this market forward. There may be a point where there is a decision taken out of our hands. If the office is to completely close like they have in meant to counties in new york, there wont be the opportunity to close the escrow. Its not easy. A second good date on wall street today. At one point, the nasdaq was up 3 but ended the day down dirty three points for the s p 500 closed down 28 points. Very seasonable. Joining us is james mcbride. Lets start with the massive 2 trillion stimulus package the senate will be voting on tonight. It will include loans to Small Businesses and individual checks to people who might be out of work or who are having a difficult time. Is this enough, especially for Small Businesses and the people out of work next it sure is impressive. One of the things we learned from the 2008 recession is maybe the government didnt come in fast enough. Maybe they didnt come in big enough. This stimulus plan is big and fast. The Unemployment Benefits are going to guaranteed pay for 13 weeks. Senator schumer called that unemployment on steroids. There is another 367 billion for Small Businesses to also help them pay workers who have become confined to their homes because of the virus. The third prong is a 500 billion subsidized guaranteeing loans for larger businesses Like Airlines and hospitals. Its pretty impressive. A lot of people use the analogy, and economic bazooka. I kind of like that. James, the last two days, we have seen Big Stock Market gains. Why shouldnt we get too excited about that . What should we think about before the markets open tomorrow . Thais a great question. I think we can look back and say, coming into this week, the market was definitely oversold. It was nice to see the rally both yesterday and today. A really nice snap back. Make no mistake about it, this rally is fragile. The market wants to move up, but there is no way the market is going to find a bottom until we find a number of cases of coronavirus has declined. As you know, and as you reported, they are growing at an a comfortable pace, particularly in places like new york city. This market wants to rally. It is oversold. It is not going to find a bottom until we find some clarity on how extensive the virus is going to be. James, our Overall National debt is 23 trillion. Now we will be adding another 2 trillion to that. Can we keep printing money . At some point, dont you have to pay your bills . You sure do. We are in a situation now where if your house is on fire, its probably not the time to worry about the water bill. Thats a good analogy. What about this . President trump says he wants to see the economy open back up fight easter. That is less than three weeks away. Dirt thoughts on that, it is that providing a boost . I think it is creating a lot of concern. The concern being, what if the coronavirus was to reappear in the economy and shut off the recovery . I think thats the concern. I have talked to some physicians. That is your concern is that this isnt easily dispensed with. The worst thing that could happen is people did go back to work, the virus started to spread, and it would really be a hammer blow to the economy. The senate is voting tonight, james. We will see how wall street does in reaction tomorrow. We appreciate you taking the time to talk to us tonight. Always a pleasure. Thank you. We will look at the weather again as we head into your bay area thursday. We have a cold morning star. 31 degrees in santa rosa and napa. Below freezing. That will get us a frost advisory. I wouldnt be surprised with the frost advisory as we head into friday morning. There are scattered showers throughout the area right now. You can see around the bay area proper, most of the showers are east and south. Though showers are winding down right now. The yellow represents the heavier rain. Yesterday at this time, we had just under 0. 98 inches. Almost an inch of rain. Today we got another quarter inch to a halfinch in some of the heaviest locations. That has been a very productive rainfall event, even though it is not an organized storm. We have wind out of the bay right now. We have the forecast as you see here with clouds were tomorrow and basically mostly sunny as we go to the day. It will be a darned nice day tomorrow. A little bit warmer. We warm up a little bit more, but watch what happens. There is thursday morning. There is thursday afternoon. Maybe a sprinkle. Dont sweat it. Friday morning looks good. Friday afternoon looks good. You see up to the north, that system up there will bring us scattered showers as we go into saturday afternoon and sunday. It looks like part went possible for the bay area weekend. This is the five day forecast. As you can see, a chance of showers on saturday. A little bit warmer by sunday and monday. There will be opportunities, i know that is important when you are at home, plenty of opportunities to get out and about. Enjoy yourself. The weather looks like it is pretty good. A chance of showers on saturday and sunday will be kind of what we had yesterday and today. It will be scattered showers on and off. Mountain snow. By the way, the mountain snow has been really good. The last couple of days, they have done real well with that. Sounds good. Thanks. Some jobs, even volunteer positions, have become impossible to do during the stay at home order. Reporter now that they are there, jaclyn says she can see why. This is the third food bank the unit has worked this month. I feel that i have been exposed to a lot of different parts what goes on in the food bank for which is really opening my eyes to how many people we are actually serving. We are so thankful to have the National Guard with us. Reporter you may notice social distancing is a challenge. Each member of the guard has a temperature taken daily. Every morning, we are screened before we deployed permission. That gives us an added level of comfort that we are being checked on regularly. Reporter the food is loaded onto trucks and taken to pantries and other distribution points, including the Truelove Baptist Church in fairfield. Right a we dont have volunteers who can do that the hitting home how it impacts. The National Guard is expected to be working at the food bank every day for the next three weeks.
