Yeah. That is actually no longer visible from the freeway. 34th and foothill. It was visible from 580 and 880 but the Fire Department has apparently knocked it down to parentally its no longer a traffic issue. You can see traffic in oakland has been relevant ily light to start off with and it is that way everywhere in the bay area. There are now at least 409 confirmed coronavirus cases here in the bay area. Santa clara county has 175 infections including six deaths. The downtown olympic club in San Francisco reports a member tested positive for the virus. The club has now notified all members who took spin classes with that person last week and Governor Newsom announced 150 million in emergency funding to stop the virus from spreading among the homeless and into the states general population. Now, in napa county a shelterinplace order takes effect at midnight. Napa is the last bay area county to order its residents to stay inside because of the koefd covid19 threat. Vineyards are worried its going to devastate the Wine Industry here. Well, the coronavirus pandemic is stressful for everyone, even those in the medical field. Doctors, nurses, and others at medical facilities say they are in close contact with people who are showing symptoms and even some who have tested positive for the virus. Were seeing more and more of the low and moderately sick patients. Were not seeing an alarming surge at this point. But thats what were preparing for. We have to avoid the huge spike of hundreds of potentially critically ill people coming in all in a very short period of time. Now, the doctor says medical workers who are on the front lines in the fight against the virus need personal protective equipment including eye protection, hospital gowns and especially those n95 masks. That will keep the medical workers well enough to work and be able to help if the number of patients increases. He also says the general population does not need that equipment. If they are following the shelterinplace and social distancing guidelines. Several bay area nurses also worried about the lack of protective equipment and theyre speaking out going public with their concerns. Nurses from National Nurses united and the California Nurses Association gathered outside of the cpnc davies campus putting a spotlight on the problem. They say theyve already had reports of a nurse who did not have a mask treating a possible covid19 patient. We need help from employers and public agencies to provide the necessary protection so that none of us fall ill and potentially spread the virus to our families, to our neighbors, to other patients, and to our communities. Now, the Nurses Union Wants hospitals to provide more n95 masks and hoods. A woman from the south bay is speaking out after her father died recently from covid 19. Five days later he was admitted to a hospital in gilroy put on a ventilator because he couldnt breathe on his own. Silva believe its medical professionals could have done more. Two days could have meant my dad still being here. Reporter silva says she is grieving but also wants to bring the activity surrounding the virus in recognition dealing with the infection and those who have already passed away. Take this seriously. Stop joking about it on social media. Its not a joke. It really isnt. Look at my dads face. He was too young to die. He didnt have to die. Reporter silva said she isnt sure how her father contracted the virus and that hed been in isolation since early this month. Silva, her family and her father lived together in gilroy.
