New video from overnight shows some of the bars, restaurants, and clubs in downtown san jose empty as part of that order. We also saw Police Officers out at midnight making sure they were following than shelter in place. Through april 7th. Santa cruz county also participating. Those orders went into effect right after midnight, 12 01 a. M. Police and Fire Protection are still being provided in those six counties as well as other essential services. Trash and recycling will continue. Grocery stores, pharmacies and banks will remain open. Restaurants for food and take out for delivery will also stay open. Bay area leaders are urging every to stay vigilant to protect the public. The new Public Health order that were announcing will require San Franciscoens to stay at home. These measures will be disruptive to daytoday life, but theres no need to panic. Its going to take us some time to get the systems in place, to get the rules in place, to make sure everybody understands what the rules are. This initial shelter in place order is in effect. This could either loosen the current restrictions or possibly Institute Even tougher measures depending on what happens. The shelter in place order is already having a devastating impact on a countless number of bay area businesses. Bars and restaurants are especially hard hit. One bartender had just bought a home.
