Media, which are legitimate we are going to win the about the kind of Economic Impact this is going to have. Democratic nomination. Chris we asked you for chris with the next Big Questions for the panel, and on votes this tuesday in six states, we will ask sanders if he can flip the race for the the issue of how the coronavirus democratic nomination one more could impact, or even threaten the u. S. Economy, we got this on time. Twitter from texas guy, has the plus, a friday night surprise as coverage, Media Coverage of the the president reelection coronavirus been overhyped, campaign, he replaces chief of staff Mick Mulvaney with a key juan, how do you answer texas ally, congressman mark meadows. Guy . We will ask our sunday panel juan well, i think there about the west wing shakeup. Are alarmists out there, but the president , i think, has been somewhat partisan wearing that and, our power player of the red haaretz, calling the week, a former Rocket Scientist government of Washington State a shares her love of stem as the snake and all that. I just dont like it, because head of the girl scouts. We want to make sure that like ben, my preferences, i just girls have the skills to not want to have trust in government just be users of technology but at this critical time. The creators, inventors, and i know that when you get away designers. From media, lets just look at chris all, right now, on wall street, you get Companies Fox news sunday. Like Goldman Sachs downgrading their forecast for the year economically, obviously the stock market has been and, hello again from fox news upanddown, the uncertainty is in washington. Inducing a great amount of we are following two big stories anxiety and fear. So thats a way for people who today, first the continuing spread of the coronavirus. The u. S. Now has more than 400 clearly have skin in the game in terms of money, who say when you look at italy, when you look at confirmed cases, 19 deaths, and grace, what happened in chi cha, six states declaring emergenci were disrupting tra industry, emergencies. Airplanes, cruise ships and meanwhile the democratic race is down to Bernie Sanders and the like. This is not good. Joe biden, we are just two days its not what i think, i dont away from another round of think its media hype, weve got primaries. Six states including michigan, a stay away from the alarmists, but theres something going on the first big rust belt state to vote. Here thats quite serious. In a minute, we will speak with chris jason, this is not senator sanders as he prepares just a medical story, not just to go headtohead against biden for the first time. An economic story, its also but first, lets bring in very much, as its been suggested by ben, a political kevin corke reporting from the president s retreat at maralago with the latest on story, because donald trump was the coronavirus, kevin. Understandably planning to run on a strong economic record, chris, overnight we learned that a marine release and the return from overseas, record growth, low unemployment, nonvirginia, has tested positive records and the stock market, for the virus. And now, suddenly, all of that hes actually being treated at a is in jeopardy. Hospital there. Just the latest example of the how serious a threat does all continuing spread of the disease this pose, potentially, we dont both at home and abroad. Know what its going to be like in the fall, but how serious from the white house to the threat does this pose, centers for Disease Control in atlanta, and all hands response potentially, than to the president s reelection . By the Trump Administration meant to reassure americans that jason i think it is something that he has to be its a strategy to contain thec. Worried about, frankly. President trump we are the only country, in that sense, we are in uncharted territory, here. This is not just the flu. Thats proactive. It is much more serious than the we are totally proactive and we are totally equipped to handle flu. The mortality rate is higher it. Thank you very much, everybody. Than the flu, it is not as bad a speak of the white house as a sars virus so far, but it preparedness is being questioned is worse than the flu, and we and tested. Critics argue that the need to work our way through it. He needs to find a way to administration has a medically produced attesting material to the twoyear scope of the virus reassure people, without being which is now spread to dozens of overly dismissive of the seriousness of this. States and the district of and it is going to affect the columbia, causing events like economy. It is going to affect the supply the annual sxsw gathering in texas to be canceled and chains. Businesses like certainty, this introduces all kinds of california officials docking officials for the grand uncertainty, we have princess cruise ship. Spring break travel coming up globally, the event has sent shock waves from a hospital, thats being canceled, conferences are being canceled, so hes going to have to work through this, what he has going would to italy where more than for him, and as we found out 16 people have been placed under with the report on friday, is quarantine. Back at the white house, that this economy is on pretty good footing right now, if you shakeup cap such argument week as the president said he will look at whats going on in japan replace chief of staff mick and china, the second and Third Largest economies in the world mulvaney with retiring after hours, theyre sort of congressman mark meadows, stop teetering on recession, and this support of the president. Could push them into it, what we on capitol hill tomorrow, the know from our jobs report is that our economy right now is house is set to set up a special pretty solid. Which means wearing a pretty center to prepare infrastructure good position to absorb whatever for possible telework as shock we get from us. Capitol hill becomes the latest front in the fight. Chris. Chris kevin corke reporting for maralago, kevin, thanks. We will have more in the as you talk about all the conferences that are being coronavirus later in the canceled, and we hear about airlines which are cutting program, but first, back to flights by dramatic amounts, this is going to filter into the politics. Joining us from the campaign economy, as we head into march trail in michigan, democratic and april. President ial candidate and again, he will have to find a senator, Bernie Sanders, senator, since super tuesday, way to reassure people, and not overpromise in terms of how youve been going after quickly we are going to get past joe biden pretty hard on a this. I think he needs to let the number of issues. Take a look. Health professionals do their bernie of one of us in job and not be out there this race led the opposition to contradicting or secondguessing them. Chris congresswoman, had words, obviously we have no idea the war in iraq, one of us led where this is going to be in the the opposition to disastrous fall, amy the president s right, and like the flu, as we get into trade agreements, one of us has warmer weather, it will begin to diminish, maybe not. Spent his entire life fighting how legitimate do you think it is for democrats to go after the against cuts in social security. Chris senator, now that this is a two man race, and president on the administration youre going to have a twoman response to the coronavirus . Donna well, i think its debate sunday, how hard do you go after joe biden without legitimate to challenge the process and the of carving each other up and helping donald trump win this cri whenever weut what to , reelection . Bernie well, chris, thats the right question. Biden is a friend of mine, joe biden is a decent guy, what joe has said is that if i win and what americans can do, that the nomination he will be there for me, i have said if he won the nomination, i will be there it actually is a somewhat for him. Reassuring. But we dont get is that kind of because we both recognize that reassurance coming directly from we have a president who is a the president , because of his pathological liar, and i say that without any joy in my hea know, the information that he puts out is just on accurate. He would actually, i think, do heart. Better in terms of the public if he just shut up. Because i dont think people wouldnt necessarily blame the president for something that was out of his control, but if he continues in his administration somebody who is running a corrupt administration, and it somebody who is apparently never read the constitution of the mismanages the crisis, then i United States and think these think its a legitimate point of above the law. Biden and i, no matter who wins this thing will be competing, but now that it is a twoway race, it is important for the challenge by anyone who wants to voters of this country to ask be president saying i would themselves two questions. Number one, which candidate is manage a better, i mean, we saw stronger in terms of being able to defeat trump. And number two, what are the differences in our record. Joe has been in washington for a the impact, for example, that long time as have i. My point is, when people see the records, joe voted for the war hurricane katrina, and the response had with president in iraq, i oppose the war in president bush. Iraq. Joe voted for the wall street i dont think this is different in that respect. Od when he makes bailou wall street bailout. When you go to the midwest, we are in michigan right now, you go to wisconsin, pennsylvania, people want to know about your assertions that are completely views on trade, because contrary to the scientific disastrous trade agreements like evidence. Nafta and pmp are with china chris ben, the president literally tweeted this morning, cost this country over 4 million primarily to this conversation good paying jobs, decimated that the administration is doing a great job and its a Fake News Media that is running him down. Communities here in michigan. I hope to leave the opposition ben i think we can believe to those trade agreements, joe a couple of Different Things are voted for them. Chris senator, joe biden true here. One is, the panic is overblown, is also going after you, here he this is not the kind of Public Health crisis, yet, that people is on who is better able to help are treating it in the way they are approaching it in some working americans. Take a look. Sections of the media. Now, lets go to michigan, however, its very serious. Bernie, and see if thats true. It should result in changes in im the guy that helped bailout Human Behavior for the time the outer mobile industry, what being, as we figure out how we adjust to live our lives this did you do, old buddy . Come on. Way. Just to note a personal thing chris he says youve got big plans, he gets results. Here, a former guest on fox news bernie well, i think in quite a lot, passed away a little over a year ago, one of terms of results, ort the disastn our employees, from the flu, so iraq, when you support the the flu is very serious, we have wall street bailout, when you a very high level of flu and america right now. So people should take this seriously, but dont freak out. Support terrible trade agreements chris how about the auto dont panic, dont into a bailout, sir . Bernie mall, the auto bailout was done by the obama black friday mob at the costco administration, and it was a when youre trying to prepare step forward, but i think, for this. Sometimes joe was taking a little bit of credit, as chris and quoting the congresswoman, that the Vice President , for initiatives president , i will be gentler, that were led by should be quiet . President obama, and by many ben i think the president , members of the congress. As i said, should stick to the chris lets take a look at talking points hes given. Hes not the practical politics, here, the big prize on tuesday, or the there are a lot of serious people working on this, he biggest prizes michigan with 125 should stick to those points and not go off script the way he delegates, you scored a major does. Upset when they are in 2016 before i think it hurts them politically, you can see theres a public because they pullout, against hillary clinton, but on super tuesday, you lost to 51 of americans at the moment biden, among what many people disapprove of the way hes would think would be her base, handling this, but i agree with councilwoman edwards, if he white workingclass voters, in a said nothing, people wouldnt number of states, and biden blame him. Taunted you bernie, you jason but people look to the present for leadership on this, he has to watch what he says but i dont think you got beaten by overwhelming should stop talking. Donna i think hes incapable of doing that, so i support, africanamericans, think you should really defer to bernie, you had beaten because the people in his of suburban women, bernie. Administration. Chris if you were to lose who have the capacity to make the American Public comfortable in the First Industrial midwest estate to vote, michigan, on and where we need to be. Chris all right, thank you panel, see you next sunday, my tuesday, how serious is that, guess is, unfortunately, we will how damaging, would you consider still be talking about this, up dropping out . Bernie well, no, i next, our power player of the week, the girl scout who became certainly would not consider a Rocket Scientist and is now dropping out. You know, chris, media asks you, leading the organization into the future is this state or that state life or death. Dad, im scared. I was asked that in iowa, new hampshire, we won california. At the large estate in this its only human to care for those we love. Country, we are winning among latino voters big time. And also help light their way. We are winning among young people. Its why last year chevron invested over 10 billion you know, when you talk about the future of this country or the future of the democratic to bring affordable, reliable, ever cleaner energy to america. Party, we might want to look where young people are at, and what young people are saying is that we have got to move aggressively to make sure that health care is a right for all, young people want to rage minimumwage to at least 15 an hour, young people want us rebuild our crumbling into infrastructure and build Affordable Housing that we need. Young people understand we have massive levels of wealth and income inequality were three people have more wealth on the bottom half of america. They want changes. They are concerned about climate change, they are concerned about racism and sexism. I think, if you look at the general electorate, you look at the future of this country, i think youve got a lot of Energy Behind us. The one thing you learn pretty quickly, just yesterday, chris, just is that theres a lot to learn. Yesterday, didnt get a lot of grow with google is here to help you Media Attention for whatever reason, we held a rally in grand with turning ideas into action. Park in chicago, we had 15,000 putting your business on the map, people out. Connecting with customers, and getting so i am feeling good about the the skills to use new tools. Momentum that we have, i think so, in case youre looking, we are going to do well on weve put all the ways we can help in one place. Tuesday, and i think were going to beat biden. Chris beat biden in free training, tools, and Small Business resources michigan . Bernie yes, i do, yes. Are now available at google. Com grow last time around, as you indicated, it was seen as a big upset, because polling had us down, literally by 20 points one day before the election. Chris okay, you talk to your last answer about income inequality, and i want to press down on that with you. Here is something that you said last fall, i dont think billionaires should exist. First of all, a few billionaires, lets talk about, bill gates, steve jobs, jeff bezos have created more than 1 million jobs, probably more than 1 million extra in chris when you think of the girl scouts, you may think terms of fallout as it comes about buying thin mints or samoa from their companies, and created trillions of dollars of was, but our power player of wealth, why shouldnt they share the week wants you to know the century Old Organization a lot in the wealth that they create which is helping not just them, more. But has helped a lot of the world is changing very rapidly, we want to make sure americans . Bernie chris, i have girls have the skills to not just be users of technology, but nothing personal against any the creators, the inventors, and bill. But when you are at the designers. An economy and in Economy Today chris Sylvia Acevedo is where the top 1 owns more ceo of girl scouts usa, a former wealth than the bottom 92 , Rocket Scientist and tech executive, her goal is to bring where over the last 30 years, the top 1 has seen a science, technology, 21 trillion increase in their engineering, and math skills to wealth level, bottom half of the scouts. Sylvia we have the scale america has actually seen a and the reach to teach girls decline, where real wages have muchneeded tech skills. Essentially been stagnant for we have had over 1 million the last 45 years, workers of america not making a nickel more badges earned in 2019. In real dollars than they did 45 chris this is no longer years ago, when youve got half your grandmother girl scouts . A Million People sleeping out on sylvia we do have our hand the streets of america tonight, firmly rooted in our traditions, but we always have to be looking at the future. Homeless, when the very, very were doing about 339. Rich are getting richer, when youve got half of our people chris new programs aimed living paycheck to paycheck, to make stem accessible for all ages. 87 Million People uninsured or would you like some cookies . Underinsured, 45 Million People dealing with student debt, young chris and even those people can afford to go to iconic cookies play a part. How big is the girl scout cookie college, im in michigan now, go to detroit, youve got a sewer business . Sylvia is this the largest district which is inadequately funded. Weve got to get our priorities female Entrepreneurship Program in the world. Chris the girl scouts to right, thats what we have to sell 200 million boxes in the do. Year, bringing in 850 million. Chris two questions, first of all, lets just take the case of bill gates. That from local troops he created a whole new way for adventures in learning. People to get information, to sweet winnie 71 girl scouts discuss, to communicate with started, girls and womens each other, huge increase in the programs got less than 9 of any nonprofit dollars, it is the same today, so the cookie way we live now. Program allows us to continue to its unimaginable not to have microsoft and at the various provide these cuttingedge things that are created. Programs and amazing experiences for girls. Chris julia gordon low formed of the scouts in 1912. Bernie he deserves great credit for that, chris, i applaud him. Chris let me just say, to teach girls leadership, hes created a great economy, selfsufficiency, and outdoor hes giving away billions of skills. Today, there are 1. 6 millionf c. Dollars, some could argue hes done a lot more with his wealth than any politician would, which chris what did you think is one question, the other is, when the boy scouts started how far would you go as a democratic socialist in terms of admitting girls . Sylvia it provides another worker control of businesses . Competitor in the marketplace, we have many competitors. We are going to continue to stay bernie good, well to laser focused on our amazing questions, no one is denigrating outcomes and programs and the achievements of bill gates programs. Chris Sylvia Acevedo was or anybody else. Seven when she joined the girl scouts, on a camping trip, but we have to look at, culturally, whats going on. A group leader noticed her it do people like the walden looking up at the stars and encouraged her to earn a badge family, for example, that own about space. Sylvia i got my science walmart, they are worth well badge of making a rocket and i tried and failed quite a few over 100 billion. When their workers are making times but i persisted. When it finally launched, and i 11 or 12 an hour. Sought go into that beautiful blue new mexico sky, i thought i no one is denigrating people who could do this. Chris she went on to have made significant achievements, but enough really is enough. Become a nasa Rocket Scientist, does Mike Bloomberg really an ibm engineer, and an apple executive. She says the confidence that she 65 billion to see his wealth gained in the scouts propelled increased by 15 billion in the her and others. Sylvia it wasnt just me, last three years . Millions of women like me. One of the reasons half of all in terms of worker control, i affected officials in america believe it is important to put were girl scouts, 60 of the workers on the boards of women in congress were directors of major corporations, and i will tell you why, when girl scouts. 75 of the women senators were you do that, corporations are girl scouts. Its only Business Leaders were not going to be so quick to shut girl scouts. Chris her plan now to down and america, and moved to build that same foundation in a china, moved to mexico, and move changing world for todays gir to other lowwage countries. I want working people to say you know what, im in a job, my girls. Ideas matter, im just not a cog in a machine, and in vermont, by the way, and in states all over this country, where you have sylvia i wouldnt have had enterprises where workers do the opportunities in my life had have significant input into what it not been for the girl scouts. That is really our mission, to greet girls of curls, goes on, absenteeism goes down, confidence, and character, to make the world a better place. Chris and we have our very own girl scout on the panel productivity goes up. Today, don edwards started as a daisy, and when she was in democracy, to me, means not just congress, served the troop of capitol hill, made up of all the voting every four years, having female members of the house and a bit of a say in thework at. Senate. Now, this program note. I like that argument. Senator Bernie Sanders will be chris i have two more questions i want to try to suppr back again on fox tomorrow night at 6 30 p. M. Eastern for a town hall live from detroit. And that is that for today, have certain aspects. I emphasize that, aspects, of a great week, and we will see you next fox news sunday. Castros cuba. Theres a story that came out this week, back in 2014 you are part of a congressional delegation that went to cuba and you met with an american political prisoner there named alan gross and he says this is the conversation the two of you had. Go he said, i dont know it so wrong with this country, how could it be so insensitive to make that remark to a political hostage, me. Chris senator, did you say that to an american political prisoner in cuba . Bernie i remember that trip very well, and i remember the terrible conditions that mr. Gross lived in, his teeth are rotting, i did not make that statement, why mr. Gross is saying that, i have no idea, but i did not make that statement. It cuba is an authoritarian country, saudi arabia is an authoritarian country, chris, if you check my record, i happen to be, may be oldfashioned, not like donald trump. I dont think putin is a nice guy, i dont think kim jong un of north korea is a nice guy, i speak up for democracy all over the world, whether it is in cuba, whether it is in saudi arabia, whether it is in russia, wherever it is. Chris finally, there was a fascinating profile of you in the new york times, i dont know if he had a chance to read it yesterday, it said that when you are in hotels, you want a room which is far away from the ice machines in the elevators, which i have to tell you, i good morning. Passengers on the grand think its perfectly sensible. It also said that you want your princess are frustrated with little answers about when they will get off that ship. Room to be at 60 degrees, and it will dock tomorrow but the the question i have, sir, is when you are on the road, do you embankment process will take days. More than a dozen new cases hang meat in your room . Bernie [laughs] have been reported as officials are recommending people stayed ill tell you, maybe its having lived in vermont for the last 50 home for the next couple of years, i just dont sleep well weeks. From ktvu fox 2 news this when the room gets very, very is mornings on 2. Warm. My poor wife has been having to deal with that for decades now, good morning. It is sunday. Sometimes, in hotels, in the it is not monday. Night they turn off the air i am here for claudine. Conditioning a gets pretty hot and i dont sleep, and we are on the road a whole lot. But i do like, have to contest, im pam cook. Im frank mallicoat. We had tock. I do like cold rooms. Chris in 15 seconds, it also said that you like to watch old boxing matches on tv, who is we actually went forward. Your favorite fighter, sir . Bernie i would go with muhammad ali who is not only a great fighter, one of the great heavyweight champs of time, but the next ordinary human being and probably the most loved athlete of his time. Chris you think you could have beaten joe lewis . Bernie yes, i do. Chris senator sanders, thank you, incidentally, joe lewis was from michigan, youre going to be in trouble on that one. Bernie by the way, i know, i just met, and terms o was the mayor of jackson, mississippi, is campaigning for man michigans family is related directly to joe lewis whose real name is joe barrows, the barrels family of michigan. Chris youve got some political repair work to do this afternoon, senator, thank you, thanks for your time on this busy weekend, safe travels on the campaign trail, sir. Bernie thank you very much, chris. Chris went up next, we will bring in our sunday group to discuss what is at stake tuesday. Plus, President Trumps new chief of staff. Nt income is complicated. As your broker, ive solved it. Thats great, carl. But we need something better. Thats easily adjustable has no penalties or advisory fee. And we can monitor to see that were on track. Like schwab intelligent income. Schwab introducing schwab intelligent income. A simple, modern way to pay yourself from your portfolio. Oh, thats cool. I mean, we dont have that. Schwab. A modern approach to wealth management. The one thing you learn pretty quickly, is that theres a lot to learn. Grow with google is here to help you with turning ideas into action. Putting your business on the map, connecting with customers, and getting the skills to use new tools. So, in case youre looking, weve put all the ways we can help in one place. Free training, tools, and Small Business resources are now available at google. Com grow are Critical Skills for scientists at 3m. One of the products i helped develop was a softer, more secure diaper closure. As a mom, i knew it had to work. There were babies involved. And they werent saying much. I envisioned what its like for babies to have diapers around them. Thats what we do at 3m, we listen to people, even those who dont have a voice. At the end of the day, we are people helping people. [ turn around, look at meal dont have a voice. Turn around look at me there is someone we are very much alive and make no mistake about it, this campaign will send it donald trump packing. This campaign is taking off, join us. Chris well, what a difference a week makes, reenergized it joe biden, as the results from super tuesday put him back in the lead for the democratic nomination. And it is time, now, for our sunday group, cofounder of the federalist, ben domenech, fox news political analyst, juan williams, former democratic congresswoman, donna edwards, and jason riley of the wall street journal. While, congresswoman, where is the democratic race now, how solid is bidens position as the front runner, and is it possible for Bernie Sanders to flip the script one more time . Donna well look, coming out of super tuesday, biden could not have had a better night, he swept a ton of 14 states, he is in a very solid position, looks like he is pulling together the Democratic Coalition its going to be needed to beat donald trump in november, but i think, it is still a race to the finish, and it is possible that there could be some catch up, but biden is in a very solid, strong position going into the coming tuesday races. Chris and we should point out, that just this morning, kamala harris, the senator from california, former president ial candidate has now endorsed joe biden. Jason, weve been down this road before, last summer, biden was unbeatable, than warren was in the lead, if we had talked a week ago, certainly ten days ago, we wouldve been saying that, can anybody stop Bernie Sanders coming out show biden. So, juan, how do you see the race, and you think theres a possibility were going to see some more twists and turns . Before we could, i think bidens lead is real, but i dont think he can get too comfortable. I think he is benefited from a couple things, one is that democrats, i think, took a lesson from what happened to republicans in 2016, and you saw Pete Buttigieg and amy klobuchar, and even beto orourke down a texas turnaround and indoors an alternative, they got out of the race, and they endorsed biden, and that is something that republicans, of course, did not do back in 2016, when it came to endorsing an alternative to donald trump. I also think that biden has benefited from Bernie Sanders underperforming this cycle, to the extent that he did four years ago. Yes, he is doing better with young voters, but they are a smaller percentage of the voting public right now than they were four years ago. We talk about how trump benefited from and say Clinton Senate stomach sentiment four years ago, but so did clinton in the primary. There was a lot of sentiment going on last time. Bernie benefited from that, thats out there this time, you saying he will suffer because of that. Chris theres another big political story want to get too, that is that friday night, President Trump announced, there you see them on the screen, he is replacing Mick Mulvaney as white house chief of staff with his fourth chief of staff, and a little over three years, congressman mark meadows of north carolina, ben, why the switch, and what you think it says about the president s strategy as he prepares, in earnest, to go into the 2020 Election Campaign . Ben the president had reportedly soured on Mick Mulvaney as his chief of staff months ago. This is something that he wanted to do much earlier, but the impeachment process, as it was playing out, really didnt allow him to do that. Now we get someone who is really kind of a story of the republican party, in terms of mark meadows, someone who is the founder of the freedom caucus, a very ideological conservative, someone who, even reportedly was reluctant to go to the convention in 2016, because he didnt know if he wanted to be there supporting donald trump. Now he is someone who is as loyal as you can be and was a fierce advocate for him on this network and others during the impeachment process, meadows is someone who, i think, is just a signal to conservatives that trump knows who he is close to, hes going to stick by them, and hes going to make that case to his Republican Base going forward, in what he views to be of a selection where he has a lot of things that he can say and advocate for four reasons as to why he should return. Group of donors on friday night that mark meadows is going to be his jim baker, the very wellregarded first chief of staff to ronald reagan, you and i both covered the reagan white house, do you think this president really wants a geo baker . Juan it now. First of all, jim baker was respected across the political consensus builder, and someone who is a student of government mr. Neary in terms of the way government works. He had a deep appreciation of the governments ability to serve the American People. Mark meadows is known as of fire were, what you just heard, hes the fire of the freedom caucus, but hes also a guy who has mocked up government operations, the shutdown, that was freedom caucus, that was mark meadows, he has a distaste for how government actually operates, he things government is a problem, and has gone after bureaucrats and government workers. So its the exact opposite. I think its a base plate, i think it says to people who are strong trump partisans, we have got our guy right next to the president , and i think there was fading confidence in Mick Mulvaney, especially after that press conference, when he talked about quid pro quo, and the like, but secondly, i think there was a low density was in charge. Now, the president is now after impeachment, calling in and pushing at people who he things arent disloyal, but calling in terms of oils, is making a play right now to consolidate before the election. Chris jason, your thoughts on the meadows appointment, and the continued people in this white house. Jason am actually reluctant to read too much into the meadows appointment. I think that you know, the chief of staff traditionally has been a manager, or a gatekeeper to the oval office. I dont think trump quite views is in that role, i think he sees the chief of staff is another aid, and hes looking for someone whos going to be a fighter for him, particularly in the media and be loyal to him. I think mark meadows checks both of those boxes, he will do fine. Chris congresswoman . Donna i agree. I do think that the choice of meadows is actually a signal to people that there could be coming out as a spokesperson, a little bit more disciplined, i think than mulvaney had, thereby, to the president , but changing another chief of staff, frankly, is not going to make a difference for this president. The president really is his own chief of staff, and mark meadows may be a fill in, but this is really about donald trump. Chris lets okie actually makes it to the election, hes not a fillin to that sort of time. When we come back, the spread of the coronavirus across the world, and here in the u. S. , we will discuss the response with dr. Anthony fauci, the nations top expert on infectious disea disease. Chris as americans embrace for the medical and Economic Impacts of the coronavirus, u. S. Officials are trying to encourage preparedness without setting off a panic. Joining us now, dr. Anthony fauci, director of the National Institute of allergy and infectious diseases, doctor, well come back to fox news sunday. Whats the latest on the threat of the coronavirus across the country and the number of deaths here . The dr. Fauci were obvious they having an acceleration of cases now, if you look every day, we have somewhere around 350, probably going to be close to 400 if it is an eyes and already there. We have at least 18 deaths, they keep coming on every day that goes by. What we are seeing is what is called Community Spread in certain regions of the country, particularly in the area of Washington State, seattle. Chris so italy Just Announced that it is going to lock down an entire region of more than italy that includes milan and venice with a quarter of the population, millions of people, no one is going to be allowed except under extra ordinary circumstances to go in or to go out. That happened here . Dr. Fauci you know, we have to be realistic. I dont think it would be esther kony and as nobody in a nobody out. But there will be, ifcontinue t, particularly at the community level, there will be mitigation where we have to do essentially social distancing, keep people out of crowded places, take a look at seriousness, do you really need to travel . Those kind of things. I think its particularly important among the most raw marble. Thats the thing that the cdc and the state department are going to be making some recommendations about how people who have underlying conditions, those are the most vulnerable, particularly elderly with underlying conditions. Heart disease, chronic lung disease, diabetes, right now, not weight, but right now to sort of take a look at things that are at high risk. Crowded places, getting on airplanes, and absolutely, dont get on a cruise ship. Chris im going to press this question, though, of ada lee, could you see a situation, you know, a lot of talk about seattle, and whats going on taly, untiltate, or region is april 3rd, nobody in a ns possi. What you need to do on realtime basis, and thats the reason we evaluated every single day. You dont want to alarm people, but given the spread we see, anything is possible. Thats the reason why, weve got to be prepared to take whatever action is appropriate to contain and mitigate the outbreak. Chris okay, meanwhile, the cruise ship, the grand princess, the latest call is that it has 3500 people on it, that its going to dog, perhaps as early as tomorrow at a nonoccupied dock in San Francisco bay, people are then going to be taken off the ship, theyre going to be sent to quarantines, california people, the others to a base in georgia, would you prefer that would you prefer to see people stand that ship . Dr. Fauci , i recommend we see people get off, we dont only see you at the diamond princess where the ship became almost a hot spot of transition. I want to see them getting off, and be a part of the appropriate quarantine and or care for those were sick. Chris there has been some confusion about the response in this country to the disease. First of all, when a vaccine will become available, take a look. President trump ive heard varying numbers, matter of months, and ive heard pretty much a year would be an outside number. Reporter what is it going to be deployable . Thats going to be at the earliest a yeara year and a half as fast as you go. Chris realistic, whats the earliest vaccine would be available for americans to take . Dr. Fauci people need to appreciate the difference between a vaccine that youve proven marks, thats going to take between a year and a year and a half. When you can get it scaled up, that the reason weve met with the pharmaceutical countries, because once you shot works, then he got to scale it up to hundreds of millions of doses. Were talking at least a year to year and a half, at least, at best. Chris you sound like you think its longer than that. Dr. Fauci chris, the test were doing right now, getting it to phase one trial is the fastest weve ever done. Dont confuse that with when you can put it in someones arm and a deployable way. So i think that we really need to realize that, for now, the answer is not going to be a vaccine, if, in fact, we go into a cycle, where we come back next year, then we likely would have some opportunity for a vaccine. Chris there have also been contradictions about when and how many people can get tested. Take a look at that. President trump anybody that needs a test get the test, they are there, they have the test. The tests are beautiful. Anybody that needs a test get the test. We dont have enough tests, today, to meet what we anticipate will be the demand going forward. Chris can anybody who needs a test get a test now . Dr. Fauci the fact is, the tests are outtep early on with o the tests, a technical difficulty, but right now, about 1. 1 million tests are out there, now. They will be an additional come about 640,000, on that same monday, then at least another 4 million, particularly, now that we are engaging the private sector. Now, when you say that, they are out there, if you go to a doctor, it is up to the doctor to order the test, and if that happens, a person should have a test available. But its no doubt, chris, you have to be realistic, early on, there are some missteps that delayed it. Chris i want to pick up on that, doctor, and the question of testing, i want to put some numbers on the screen, as of thursday, the cdc had tested only 1583 people in california, only 516 tests. Meanwhile, in south korea, more than 66,000 people were tested within a week of the first case of community transmission, and of a canal tested 10,000 people a day, why are we so far behind . Dr. Fauci it gets back to what i said in the beginning, that the cdc made a test, there is a Technical Glitch there, the cdc provides test for the Public Health groups in the state and local. What we really need to do, now, which were the numbers that i mentioned to you, is to get the private sector involved, so that you could literally flooded with millions and millions of tests. That is happening now, but in fact, the American People need to realize, that in the beginning, there was a glitch, and we need to overcome that, now. Chris you spoke with politico recently, and i want to put a part of what you had to say. You said, you should never destroy your own credibility, and you dont want to go to war with the president , but youve got to walk the fine balance of making sure you continue to tell the truth. You have had to correct the president a few times, especially on the availability and the schedule for vaccines, where do you personally draw the line between reassuring people, but staying away from the spin . Dr. Fauci i dries best as possible, i think i succeed over many years, of staying away from spin, and just give people the information that you need based on evidence and hard facts. When you have the evidence, you give it as it is. If you dont have all the evidence, because we are in a ur best judgment and recommendations and guidelines, but you must always, always be truthful with the American Public. Chris there is a story today on ap that the white house overruled the cdc, which wanted to warn elderly people, and people and it physically fragile conditions not to get on commercial airplanes. One, do you know whether thats not, and two, what would you tell a relative of yours who was in either that class elderly or physically fragile, would you say staff airplanes . Dr. Fauci heres the deal, i can tell you right away, chris, that nobody overruled anybody about saying this. Let me say it loud and clear now. The cdc has a health alert and the state department has right now, im telling the American People, the task force, that if you are an individually an elderly persn with an underlying condition, right now, not yourself from the risk, crowds, getting on a plane, a long plane trip, above all, dont get on a cruise ship. That is a health issue. With the state department is saying from a logistic standpoint, dont get on a cruise ship, because you can come out, has a have a person on there that all of a sudden, you find yourself not be able to get back in quarantine, no one has d us not to say that, and im saying it very clearly now on your show. Chris finally, i have noticed, youve been all over television the last few days, you have a bit of a raspy voice. Have you tested yourself or had yourself tested for the coronavirus . Dr. Fauci no, because i have not been at risk. My raspy voice is the fact that im talking too much on tv shows. Chris keep doing it, you are a voice of science and authority, when people hear you, they have reason to think theyre getting the straight scoop. Thank you very much. Dr. Fauci thank you for giving me the opportunity, chris. Chris always good to talk with you, sir. Up next, we will bring back our sunday group to talk about the president s plan to contain the outbreak. Plus, what would you like to ask the panel about how the spread of the virus could threaten the u. S. Economy .
