New this morning, the california Highway Patrol is looking for the driver who led them on a dangerously fast chase through three counties overnight. Officers tried to pull over a dark gray volkswagen but the driver drove away at speeds of 131 Miles Per Hour across the Richmond San Rafael bridge to the macarthur maze. Thats where california Highway Patrol lost the driver. Japan is closing schools nation wide to stop the spread of the coronavirus. The Prime Minister wants the schools to stay closed until the spring holidays start in late march because of the growing rise in the number of untraceable cases in northern japan and elsewhere. Japan has 900 causes including 700 from a quarantined cruise ship. Northern california has the first case of the coronavirus through community spread. A patient tested positive for the virus and he had not traveled to an area effected by the virus. The person is in sacramento being treated at uc davis medical center. There are 60 confirmed cases of the virus here in the united states. Bay area hospitals are preparing in case there is a large coronavirus outbreak. They are ready to start accepting patients if that becomes necessary. There are rooms set up specifically for coronavirus and for children. The hospital has not treated any coronavirus cases yet but they could handle a large number of patients if that becomes necessary. Emergency plans use spaces in the hospitals in different ways that we normally window. Caring for the sickest patients at the hospital level and if there are people who are well enough that they could be cared for at home. The best prevention is so wash your hands frequently and anyone who is sick should wear a mask and stay out of public places. But they added that the mask is not likely to offer much protection from becoming infected. The Trump Administration is increasing its efforts to help battle the spread of the coronavirus. A 21 year old and a 19 year old are accused of killing an Italian Police officer last july in what is described as a drug deal gone bad. They have been in rome in jail for months. Award winning chef ton whole whole talked to rob about plans to open a new cafe at the Oakland Museum of california. Reporter chef Tanya Holland showed us her plans for her latest restaurant. She is creating a new cafe called fown fair. There are a lot of vegetables but there will be meat items too. It will be available to the public, not just people going to the museum. Its a casual environment. Reporter she is the author of cook books, she studied in france and hosted a show on the food network but in the bay area she is best known for the brown sugar kitchen. Before moving uptown she began serving her own chicken and waffles in west oakland. The reason i took that space was a mom and pop landlord. They wanted a personal guarantee.
