He had been missing since monday afternoon when he was last seen on Surveillance Video walking toward a trail. The Sheriffs Office says time was of the essence and those two k9s played a big role in finding them. The search and rescue members were assigned to them. I dont know that we would of been able to find him without the k9s. Officials were also pinging bennetts cellphone in the hours he was found. Hes considered an avid outdoorsman. His condition the at the hospital this morning is unknown at this time. We just know he was found alive and now he has family by his side. Ktvu fox 2 news. Time is 5 02. Another search continues in marin today. They left behind phones, wallets and their car the at the rental house and mr. Irwins son is very worried. Now investigators have been checking l couples electronics and financial records for clues as to why or how they may have disappeared. Today, the search will focus on watery areas near the home. 47yearold tim bowders never returned after snow boarding along on monday. Searchers found his body in an area known as heather canyon. This is the second death at the resort in two days. Authorities are trying to identify two people who were found in a burned out car that plunged 300 along big surrender. But take a look at the bay bridge it is slow and youre looking at a 15minute delay to get on to the span. The aids memorial quilt is returning to the bay area. The quilt got its start in the city more than 30 years ago. Here at this nondescript warehouse perhaps the most iconic symbol of the aids crisis is returning home to the bay area, the aids memorial quilt. We lost friends and we made new friends and they died. Aids activist launcheded the quilt in 1987. The quilt has names of the dead stitched together one after another and another and was famously displayed along the National Mall in 1987. This was the first panel of the quilt. There are now 48,000 more. And that was the point of this whole thing was to make sure these people and their lives were remembered. The quilt had been stored in atlanta for the past 20 years until they were able to return it to the bay area this month. About 1900 panels will be laid out in rob Bing Williams meadow in Golden Gate Park on april 3rd through the 5th as part of the parks 150th anniversary celebration. The names of the people on the panel will be read. This will be the largest display weve ever done in San Francisco indoors or out. A marin county man is being treated for injuries after he went on a hike and was missing for more than 24 hours. K9 search teams found Robert Bennett at 10 30 last night. Home security video showed the would be robbers walking up to the front door, then moving the camera hoping they wouldnt be seen. Families of other deer valley students are demanding security gashdz be on the School Grounds to prevent violence on campus. Californias primary election is less than two weeks away now. Officials are expecting a record turnout. And in a big change, californias primary will be in march, not june and is one of 14 States Holding primaries on super tuesday. That means registered democrats in california could have a bigger impact on who represents the party in the president ial election. If you have this very large, very diverse state voting for a particular candidate, that could be a source of really important legitimacy for the candidate moving forward. You do see some not quite unusual traffic. We do see this southbound 84 from the Livermore Valley as well. From there, we are looking at heavy traffic on westbound 205 coming in from tracy and thats because of an earlier crash at Mountain House parkway thats still being cleared. Once you get past the altamonte pass, things do clear up there. It is busy at the bay bridge toll plaza. Metering lights are on and youre looking at a 20minute delay to get on the span. A quick check of highway 24 in lafayette shows it is busy as well. 5 40. Heres steve. Well get to it here. The deep south is where all the rain is. The Northern Branch of the jet has kind of calmed down a bit. It is just relentless here for some. Look at texas and atlanta. Officers will be moved away from the southern borders to sanctuary cities like San Francisco. The department of Homeland Security is confirming that about 100 additional agents are being deployed to work with immigrations and Customs Enforcement but arent saying where those officers are being sent. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement acting director did indicate additional officers will be sent to sanctuary cities quote, in jurisdictions where we are not allowed to assume aliens in custody from jails. Who have been released into communities. This effort requires a significant amount of additional time and resources. San franciscos sheriff is responding saying hes not aware of any times that the city has turned someone in custody over to federal officials and is saying his office and the Police Department are standing by the policy of not turning over those in custody to federal officials saying its a matter of safety. Our department is not involved in immigration enforcement. We feel thats a federal matter. And our realm of interest is public safety. And you cant really have a Safe Community if Community Members are afraid to come to us to report crimes. San franciscos mayor is saying the city will stand by its immigrant community and sanctuary city policies.
