>> the suspect vehicle got on the freeway. but the ucp the officer returned to the scene of that hit-and-run. >> so this is the scene again. both ways are closed and it looks like this will go on for quite a few more hours. that is the situation here right now. do we have any questions? >> we are wondering if there any security cameras in the area that may help authorities get a better idea of what happened? >> if we could go back to those? they actually believe it or not have seven security cameras that belong to the city plus numerous security cameras on the buildings around here. unfortunately i was told by someone who knows, that this was part of a red light running system and is no longer in operation. otherwise you would've had many different views of this accident. if any of them are still operable they will have that information. but berkeley police are saying directly that if anyone has any dash camera or video that they took or anything like that that they would very much like to take a look at it. the odds are pretty good that they will be able to find this person assuming that the police officer correctly identified the car. it's possible that they would've had a license plate. but that is unknown at this point. the university of california police department has not been down here to talk to media yet. that is the current situation. >> an eerie site with the roadway closed. any word yet on when that will reopen? >> no. and one of the things, the reasons for that, is if you look down by that truck? there is reason to believe that the body of the person who was killed is still there. the coroner's office has not been by since we've been here relatively early in this process. it is possible that they are still waiting for a corner. -- coroner. because it's a holiday there may be few on-duty. we don't know that for fact but that has been a place that people have kept away from. it is completely surrounded by tape and no one has been approaching it. we do not currently know what the full situation is. but that does appear to be a pretty good description of what we do know. >> any idea at this time about the victims? was it a man or woman? or anything at all? >> we do know that it is a woman. there are rumors which i'm not going to repeat. but the other thing is that we have no idea when the traffic is going to open up. fortunately because there's a holiday there's not a lot of traffic. can you imagine at this hour on a normal day how bad this would be? targeting his ex-girlfriend. >> they had a dating relationship former one. and our investigation, we do believe that the shooting is related to domestic violence. >> it happened outside of the starbucks. >> when officers responded we found two shooting victims who were in a vehicle. in front of the starbucks. >> they were in a minivan. saint mary's college did was the driving seat. >> the suspect in the shooting had driven up behind the victims vehicle. >> john king says that the 21- year-old suspect former st. mary student isaiah glaive then got out of the ford focus an open fire. the woman his ex-girlfriend was equally raised in the head. her friend was shot in the leg. both were treated at the hospital and released. the gunman ran away but was found in a parking lot of the 24 hour fitness. with a gunshot wound to his head. a gun was found nearby. >> it does appear to be a self- inflicted gunshot wound. he was taken into custody and later transported by the fire department in santa rosa. the chp said at least 100 vehicles move throughout the vehicle they should the roads last night taking over three intersections. it was first reported around 9:15 pm. a helicopter helped track down a handful of suspects. in addition to the four arrests, several others were cited. they were also investigating a rollover crash that happened last night. investigators say those inside the car may have been involved in the sideshows. >> a member of the heavenly ski patrol has been found dead on the trail. they were called to the mount canyon area of the resort. he was flown to carson valley medical center where he was pronounced dead. the victim is identified as 36- year-old christopher john nicholson. he resides in south lake tahoe. they say he was working on the
