Reporter cory booker is dropping out of the campaign for the white house. He says he hasnt raised enough money but promising to campaign again. It is about winnin, behind joe biden. Pete buttigieg, Elizabeth Warren, and Amy Klobuchar round out the top. Momentum could be hard to maintain. All senators will have to pause campaigning to act in jurors in President Trumps upcoming impeachment trial. I would rather be here in iowa. Some people ask what does that mean for your time out on the campaign trail . And you cant even think like that. Reporter sanders is also facing heat after a new report states volunteers had scripts on how to criticize warren. I hope bernie reconsiders and turns his campaign a different direction. It is a little bit of a media blowup. Reporter warren and sanders can address that feud tuesday night at the democratic debate. It will be the smallest yet. Only six candidates qualified. Ray bogan, fox news. We are joined by greg lee. We are going to get to the debate in a moment. Lets talk about cory booker first. Why do you think it didnt resonate with voters . He struggled two front stories. The bottom line, it takes a lot of money. We saw it happen with kamala harris. She ran out of money. She had to drop out. It kind of spirals from there. If you run out of money, you dont qualify for the debate, you cant get your message out. For cory booker, he was very genuine and he had this intent to bring the community together, bring the country together. I dont think that resonated with people. He refused to attack any of the other candidates. Right now, because of the Political Climate people want somebody who is willing to do that. Someone who go against President Trump. Maybe that is what caused it. Lets talk about the debate in iowa tomorrow. One thing that stands out is the lack of diversity. All of the no people of color made the cut in this case. How concerned do you think the Democratic Party is when they look at the finalists who are on the debate stage . At the beginning of this race, it was said that this was the most diverse democratic field in history. You talk about those people on stage. That has continued to be a talking point. The dnc says we have set the qualifying rules and were not going to change them. Barbara lee went on a podcast and said the rules that set these debates are unintentionally discriminatory. It is an ne when People Struggle to do that, you see what we are seeing. I think that will come up tomorrow. Andrew yang, who was only person of color in the last debate, did not qualify. Cory booker did fail to qualify as well. What you think is going to come up as the main topics . We are three weeks away from the iowa caucus. It is a huge preliminary vent leading into what will see for the rest of the primaries and often predicts who may win the nomination ultimately. It is a significant day. Ray bogan talked about the changing poles. Joe biden surged ahead. Bernie sanders has been doing well. He was certainly doing so. What we have seen in the past, whoever is leading or searching is going to be the targets. It happened to pete buttigieg. It happened to Elizabeth Warren. Bernie sanders will be taking on by the other candidates. When you talk about those candidates, there are these reports that suggest there was a candid conversation between Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren in which he reportedly said a woman would not be able to win the nomination and beat donald trump. Do you think that is likely to come up tomorrow . Absolutely. Bernie sanders has denied that. We havent actually heard her address this report. Bernie sanderss campaign is asking for her to address this. It is pending these friends against each other. I think it will be early on that these questions come up. I think it will depend on how the answer and imey do overall. Thank you so much, greg. Thanks. We turn to impeachment proceedings and capitol hill. We want to dismissal of everything. At the end of the day, he does wanted to be fair. Thats all he deserves. Reporter Mitch Mcconnell is facing criticism from democrats for his unwillingness to negotiate over the way the trial will be run. Im Mike Bloomberg and i approve this message. Today is the beginning of a new chapter in the history of the largest aircraft manufacturer. Dave calhoun takes over as boeings chief executive officer. He has a long list of issues to tackle. For more, we are joined by douglas mcmillan. Douglas, we appreciate you coming on to talk about these issues on the plate here for the incoming ceo. Boeing facing serious questions about the safety of those grounded 737 jets. What does dave calhoun need to do to change the culture at this company . Yes. It is a big job. He certainly has a lot on his plate. The number one thing he has to do is get back to a place where people think of boeing as a company that cares about safety. He has been talking recently about going back to spending time in seattle. Boeings headquarters is in chicago. The companies engineers and places they build these airplanes are in seattle. Dave calhoun has made a point to say he is going to spend time their. How do we reorient the culture to be around safety. Boeing has prioritized cost cutting over safety. I think dave calhoun doesnt quite agree with that criticism. He has been emphasized that the company has to do more. How can we make sure we are working with regulators to make these planes as safe as possible . Those emails and those messages that were revealed last week show boeing engineers deceived regulators as well as the flying public as well about the safety max jet. Is that going to make it more difficult to get those 737 max jets recertified by regulators . Definitely. Just like his predecessor, dave calhoun is between a rock and hard place here. He has to work to repair boeings reputation with the faa primarily. That is who can give the green light to get these planes back in the air. However, if he pushes too hard on regulators and he is listening too much to investigators and conservators who need these airplanes in the air, he risks doing what his predecessor did which was put too much pressure on regulators and hurt that relationship even more. He has a lot of different issuance to place here. It is not a simple solution here. The faa says they have serious concerns about boeings proposal. And also the pressure they are putting on them in terms of how soon this gets in the air. What do you think about calhoun as the pic here. What does he bring to the table in terms of the management style that will help a company in crisis . He is controversial primarily because he is an insider. When you are facing a crisis like this and you go with someone who is been on the board, he has been on the board for 10 years now. He supported the former ceo as far as we know. It is hard to say that you are going to turn around the compan strategy, when the guy who was running the company has been entire time. However, uy needs they need someone who knows how complicated these machines are and how they are built and knows and has the phone numbers for the regulators. I think there is good and bad in bringing in somebody with the knowledge and skill set of dave calhoun. He did have some previous history in Crisis Management. He led ge through difficult times before. He has some credibility as a Crisis Management leader. He has the challenge of his career right now. Absolutely. It may be a tough time to be coming in with an outsider for a company of this size. It could be a challenge for somebody. All right. We have to leave the conversation.
