Sary and constructive thing. Chris we will ask democratic senator chris coons about that effort in congress to limit military actions against iran. Plus, how Speaker Pelosi announces she will send the articles of impeachment to the senate this week. Will ask our sunday panel what the impeachment trial will look like. All right now on fox news sund sunday. And hello look at it from fox news in washington. The fallout from President Trumps showdown with iran continues to be felt the middle east. Thousands of iranians protest as tehran now admits shooting down. The president tells fox news the top iranian general he killed was planning attacks against four u. S. Embassies. And Senate Democrats pushed for a vote to limit the president s military powers while also preparing to deal with the articles of impeachment. The house will send over this week. In a moment, we will discuss the u. S. Faceoff with National Security advisor Robert Obrien but first, lets bring in kevin corke with the latest from the white house. Calls for change echoing across tehran this weekend, those demands however garnered the attention of a rather prominent observer half a world protests swept over the iranian capital over the weekend in response to the downing of the ukrainian airliner that killed everyone on board including many Iranian University students who had been studying abroad. Some even calling for the Supreme Leader to resign. After days of denial, tehran acknowledged it launch the missile strike calling it a mistake but later claims without evidence that the aircraft turned towards a sensitive military site. The angry demonstrations were in sharp contrast to the days of morning following the death of Qassem Soleimani who the president accused of attacking u. S. Embassies. The president took his concerns directly to the iranian people into eating into farsi and english that the government of iran must allow human Rights Groups to monitor and report facts from the ground adding that there cannot be another massacre of Peaceful Protesters norton internet shut down. The world is watching. Meanwhile, the senate is watching and waiting for Speaker Pelosi to transmit articles of impeachment. She does so on tuesday and wednesday as many expect, a senate trial could begin soon. But first, the california democrat is expected to select four to ten members of the house to manage the trial period ends sources tell fox news, she will make her selection from a Diverse Group of members, among them adam schiff from california and he of course ran the trump ukraine investigation. Chris kevin corke reporting from the white house, thinking made and joining us now, white house National Security advisor Robert Obrien. Welcome to Fox News Sunday. After first denying it, iran now admits that it accidentally shot down that ukraine airliner with 176 people on board, but irans foreign minister says human error, a time of crisis caused by u. S. Adventurism led to disaster. A couple of questions, what does President Trump think of irans effort to shift the blame for the shootdown of the civilian airliner and is there anything the president can do beyond tweet to support the thousands of protesters in the streets . Thats a great question, first of all our condolences go out to the families and friends of the folks who are on ukraine flight 752. A tragedy. But the iranian response is typical. First, they covered it up and went social media came out with photos of missiles, they couldnt cover it up. Then they said the plane veered towards sensitive Military Area and that turned out not to be true and now one of the great assemblers of International Diplomacy is attempting to shift the blame to the United States. So i will reject that. The ukrainians have to have an International Investigation and it has to be transparent. They have to apologize and pay compensation and need to make sure this never happens again. Chris what can we do to help the protesters, some of whom are calling for the Supreme Leader to step down. Whats interesting is they are chanting death to the dictator and when President Trump tweeted yesterday and farsi, it had 200,000 likes. I am told thats the world record for number of likes on for a farsi language tweet. Unlike past administrations where there hasnt been support demonstrated the iranian people, he has made it clear that he stands for the people of iran and not with the regime and we are going to continue to do so. Chris that has been quite a debate this week about the president justifications for taking out iranian general Qassem Soleimani, he has said that there was an imminent threat. The president was a little bit more specific about that threat when he sat down with Laura Ingraham on friday, take a look. I can reveal it would have been for embassies and i think that probably baghdad already started. Chris members of congress who attended a 75 minute briefing with the secretaries of state, defense, cia directors say there was not a single mention during those 75 minutes, members of congress about imminent threats to u. S. Embassies. So why is he saying it on but ts didnt tell members of congress . Something weve been clear iran and ive seen the intelligence on this and it was very strong and in some ways, i would love to release the intelligence and show the American People that they can trust the administration on this. Unfortunately, we dont want to lose that valuable stream of intelligence that will allow us to protect americans going forward. What weve always said and what i said from day one is that there are severe threats to american diplomats, two american soldiers and two american facilities in the region, likely syria and potentially other countries that i wont name now. So i think with the president said is consistent with what weve been saying since day one. Chris it does seem to be a contradiction. He is telling Laura Ingraham, our esteemed colleague but in a 75 minute classified briefing, your top National Security people never mention this to members of congress, why not . I wasnt at the briefing and i dont know how it w and forth, depends on the questions, i dont know, i wasnt there. All i can tell you was weve been clear from the start to American Military us officials officers and men and women and also to u. S. Diplomats and i think that is consistent with what the president is saying. Chris would you agree with what the president said that there were specific imminent threats to for u. S. Embassies . It is always difficult to know exactly what the targets are but it certainly is consistent with the intelligence to assume they would have hit embassies and least four countries. But we know there were threats to american facilities, weather bases, embassies, it is always hard until the attack happens but we had very strong intelligence, they were looking to kill and maim americans that u. S. Facilities in the region. So i think the president is absolutely right wh about the threats to america that came from soleimani and came from their proxies. Chris i want to step back a little bit and talk about the whole question of the dealing with iran. The u. S. Imposed still more sanctions on iran on friday and a secretary of state, secretary of treasury said you have two goals, you want iran to behave like other nations in the world and you want them to stop their nuclear program, but lets look at the record so far, the administration has now imposed sanctions on more than 1,000 iranian companies, organizations, and individuals. Back in september, the treasury secretary said we have cut off all funding to iran but instead of caving in, iran is moving stepbystep o o attacked saudil facilities and set fire to the u. S. Embassy in baghdad. You said this week and in an interview with axios that you think iran is now more likely to negotiate but the maximum Pressure Campaign if you look at the last six months designated them more aggressive, not less aggressive. I think its working, the iranian economy is contracted by at least 10 , we havent seen that in many, many years. Iran went from producing three to 4 Million Barrels of oil a day down to 150 to 400,000 barrels depending on the day. Iran is being choked off and is going but to come to the table. It was a terrible deal. And the sunset clause and i dont think a lot of people realize that on this this year in 2,020, iran would have been permitted to buy advanced Ballistic Missiles, a whole range of weapons that wouldve been on the shelf. Chris i agree with all of that but they havent been less aggressive, they havent indicated theyre going to come to the table, and fact they have been more aggressive and they are pulling out of the nuclear deal so why do you say as you have said this weekend you think that they are now more likely to negotiate . Iran is being choked off and there is no other way for them to get the money they need to fund the guard, to fund the regime and their maligned activities and you are seeing protest breaking out across iran and we have seen it for several months, people are fed up with this regime. They want to maintain a modern country the mother going to have to come to the table and negotiate, thats highly likely. Chris i remember in september, President Trump was at the u. N. , i interviewed the iranian president , the president and the french president were trying to get on the phone and talk and he refused to do so, i will tell you he said at that time to me there was no chance we are going to negotiate unless sanctions. Its the pressure on their economy and when you have students out chanting death to the dictator and we have thousa going to bring them to the table and the president has made it very clear. To see it stops taking americans hostage, stop supporting proxies and terrorism and stops filling these Ballistic Missiles which we saw them launch last week. We couldnt get there and youre going to see more support from our allies in the coming days as they realize how dangerous this situation is. Chris lets change a little bit, iraqs Prime Minister has sent a message to the United States. I want to put it up on the screen, he has asked the u. S. To send representatives to iraq to put in place a mechanism for implementing the parliaments decision for the safe withdrawal of forces from iraq but secretary of state pompeo says that we will continue our mission there. On what grounds as they say ignoring the sovereign nation . That was a nonbinding resolution so it seems like they want something from our democracy. Chris that was a specific statement by the Prime Minister. They boycotted it. Chris but the representative majority. We will see what happens when they have a full vote but in any event, the president said we want to be out of the middle east but what we need to do is leave on our terms i need to leave in a fashion in which eyes as has been fully eliminated, took care of the physical caliphate and working very hard now to mop up the rest, we saw that with the raid that took out albaghdadi. We will certainly work with the iraq he is and we look forward to doing so, we talk with them every day and i think we are going we will come up with a resolution, we have a team from nato here this week, you will see far more nato involvement in iraq. Chris but they are a sovereign country. They tell us to leave, youre saying we are still going to leave on our terms . We look forward to leaving an iraq that is safe and secure and is independent and thats what the iraq use one as well we are going to continue to work with all of our partners. Chris got a couple of theres a report today that the u. S. Is expelling a dozen saudi servicemen who have been training at u. S. Military bases after that terrible shooting at pensacola. Do we have indications that more of these saudi servicemen have ties to extremism . I think secretary esper has done a terrific job of reviewing the way that we vet foreign troops to come over and train with americans, we have a longstanding relationship to train the pilots, we work with them both in saudi arabia. I think we are being very careful. Obviously pensacola showed there have been errors in the way that we have vetted and i think out of abundance of caution, he is taking these actions to protect our servicemen and women. Chris finally, lets talk about congress. President trump says he didnt notify the congressional leader, the gang of eight, the majority and minority leaders, the heads of the intelligence committees beforehand about the attack on soleimani basically because he didnt trust them. Here he is this week. They want us to call them, now adam schiff is a big leaker. He leaks to crazy cnn. Off the record, theyve got the number one terrorist in the world, soleimani and theyre going to take him out in the next 10 minutes. Chris ambassador obrien, can you point to a single instance when President Trump, your administration has given sensitive National Security information to top congressional leaders about an ongoing military operation and they have leaked that the media . What President Trump is doing is very consistent with other leaders did, did not breathe the congressional leaders before a sensitive raid on usama bin laden, he did not brief the congressional leaders prior to taking out in yemen. Chris but not just because they dont trust them to lead. Just as he was taken off the battlefield, the intelligence committees and key leaders in congress were notified. I participated in a number of those calls we had a very long briefing you mentioned at the top of your show, 75 minutes with all the members of congress both house and senate so we have met our obligations and we are also very consistent with what the Obama Administration and Bush Administration and clinton administration. Chris is there reason to avleakedthat that information i think there is always a concern when you have an operation that is the sensitive as we go after leading terrorist coming of to be extreme a careful no matter who it is. Chris finally, the house has voted to limit the president s war powers. The senate is working on that. Under what circumstances with the administration feel it had to go to congress to get approval for action against ir iran . I think that is set out in a number under article two of the constitution, the president is allowed to exercise military power to defend the American People and if it is in the National Interest and the action doesnt rise to the level of war, so a long and substantive involvement, the president has that article to power to take action to protect america and thats what we did here and thats what we will continue to do in the future. That changes and there was a situation where we expect a conflict that will have a scope and duration similar to war, certainly we are on a Firm Legal Footing here very similar to president obama and president bush and president clinton. Chris a bassett or obrien, thank you. Hope we didnt scare you off and that you will come back. Thank you, sir. Up next, democrats move to reign in President Trumps ability to use military force against iran unless he gets approval from congress. Well discuss that, plus what to expect from the impeachment trial in the senate with democrat Chri Chris Coons next. Where others see chaos, we see patterns. Connections. Relationships. When you use location technology, you can see where things happen, before they happen. With esri location technology, you can see what others cant. Chris democrats in the senate are looking to drum up bipartisan support to limit the president s ability to use military force against iran without congressional approval. Joining is now here in washington, delaware senator chris coons, a top democrat on the Foreign Relations committee, welcome back to Fox News Sunday. Ever since President Trump took out in general soleimani a week ago, they have been calling it a major irans foreign minister said this, i ran took and concluded proportionate measures in selfdefense and heres what President Trump said. Iran appears to be standing down which is a good thing for all parties concerned in a very good thing for the world. Chris is in it possible that President Trumps action, out one of our worst enemies in the middle east and reestablished american deterrence . It certainly took out one of our worst enemies in the middle east, none of us are going to mourn the passing of general Qassem Soleimani, the force which he commanded was responsible for the deaths of hundreds of americans in iraq and throughout the region, so nobody should be mourning his passing. But the larger question is, does it make us safer . The did make our position more stable and is there a Clear Strategy for moving forward . President trump ran in no small part on ending the wars in the middle east but we have more troops in the middle east and the prospect you were just discussing with the National Security advisor of our being expelled from iraq, thats been one of his core iraq and chris wouldnt you at least concede that President Trump, and i know there was a lot of concern, this is going to get us into a war that so far the iranians have as the president said stood down, said we dont want to escalate the situation and maybe it made things better, not worse . This is an opening to show there is a path towards negotiation and towards reengagement with iran about what a stronger, better, longer Iran Nuclear Deal might look like and i hope they will take it. My concern is that iran has lots of ways that they can take action against us both over and clover and i dont think they are done or trying to seek revenge. The real question in front of us i think is whether or not President Trump and his Senior Administration officials believe that before taking action that predictably over months iran, to come to congress to seek authorization. Chris we will get to that about one of the other issues out that he represented and why they had to out. Here is what secretary of state pompeo said on friday. This was going to happen and we wouldve been culpably negligent had we not recommended the president that he take this action, he made the right call in america is safer as a result of that. Chris is a secretary of state line . I wont say that, frankly in the classified briefing that lasted 75 minutes and had virtually the entire senate there, we got less detailed information then President Trump shared with Laura Ingraham. So we were told repeatedly that there was a reliable intelligence of an imminent threat. Thats it. There was no more detail than te president has been co larger point about the consultation with congress, working with congress on a bipartisanrring iran, that is the bigi will remind you, President Trump has taken some very impulsive, even erratic moves in the middle east recently. Is decision to abandon our kurdish allies in syria led to hundreds of ices fighters being released, led to a number of our close European Partners in the counter ices campaign to be frustrated with us. So some skepticism on the part of congress about whether or not there really is a thorough and deliberate strategy here i think is justified. Chris let me pick up on that because you heard me question ambassador obrien the National Security advisor about the larger strategy. There is no question that as part of the Iran Nuclear Deal, the deal that john kerry and barack obama negotiated, iran got back billions of dollars in frozen assets and that it use hr actors around the middle east. Would you be willing to concede that as part of the president s maximum Pressure Campaign that at least they turned off the terror money spigot . There has been a real impact on the iranian economy and the Resources Available as a result of the maximum Pressure Campaign. Chris so that is a success. Heres the negative that is happening at the same time, a real weakening of our alliances and our partnerships. What made the iran deal possible was getting most of the world aligned with the United States and putting sanctions pressure on iran. Its thats what got them to the table. Now we are in a place where sident trump is saying here is a moment for diplomacy, we need nato more engaged in the middle east, we is taking in the last fewosalle partnerships. In his recent incident has further strained some of our partnerships with germany, france, u. K. In the region and we need them if we are going to build a stronger next iran deal. Chris in this weeks classified briefing and a 75 minutes weve been talking about, you confronted secretary of state pompeo at the end i gathered three times. What happened . Getting us to the point where they thought there would be a common agreement. There is an instance of imminent threat, article two, commanderinchief, the president has the power to act to protect our troops and our interests overseas but if there is an instance as we now seem to be embarking on where thepresidr redline, no Nuclear Weapon and there is the real risk of months and months of preparation for military strike to prevent that, of course in that fact pattern, you eek authorizat there wasnt a clear commitment to doing that and i think there has to be. A democracy when we go to war is stronger when the constitution is followed and the peoples representatives authorize that conflict. I think that strengthens our resolve as a nation and i think that strengthens our hand in the world. To ignore congress and not even consult with us let alone seek authorization weakens us on the world stage. Chris finally, Speaker Pelosi will send articles of impeachment to the senate this week, senate is going to begin its trial. How confident are you if not at beginning at some point that you can get for republicans to come over and agree with the democrats to call key witnesses . Thats what this is all going to come down to is majority leader mcconnell is going to give us as much of a fair trial as four republican senators demand. There was a key difference between trials and coverups, trials have witnesses, coverups dont. President trump mightve had his reason of being skeptical of the house process. In a republicancontrolled senate, i cant think of any reason he wouldnt want folks like secretary of state pompeo National Security advisor john bolton who were in the room, who were on the email chains, who know what happened to come to the senate, testifying clear his name. He is exonerated in the senate by a purely partisan vote, i dont think you will have been exonerated at all and this is only the third time in our nations history that we are going to have an impeachment trial. Chris do you have any commitment that they will vote to call witnesses . No. At this point, there is just conversations trying to find some reasonable bipartisan path forward to insist on a fair trial. I respect that there are republicans who deeply want President Trump to have a fair trial, i think thats what all of us should want but to have a trial where the critical witnesses were blocked by the president from appearing in front of the is no closest advisors to cooperate and in the clinton impeachment trial, there was sworn testimony that they were debating about how it would be presented. Chris i have a minute left, President Trump says if John Bolton John bolton is subpoenaed and if john bolton agrees to testify, he wont allow him to discuss their conversations about ukraine, take a look. I would love everybody to testify, but there are things that you cant do from a standpoint of executive privilege, you have to maintain them. Chris would any president allow his National Security advisor to discuss the conversations they had over National Security in the oval office . If that National Security advisor could clear his name by doing so, i think most president s would. The executive privilege doesnt exist to allow you to cover up a crime. Cuts with the president is being accused of here. You should want the former National Security advisor to testify truthfully in front of the senate. Chris there are a lot of ifs here. Bolton is allowed to testify and the president invokes executive privilege, your response would be what . You can invoke executive privilege to cover up a crime, john bolton should testify. Chris will be watching what happens this week both on iran and the impeachment trial. Up next, we will bring in our sunday group to discuss whether the showdown with iran is over. Its just taking a short pause. Im part of a community of problem solvers. We make ideas grow. From an everyday solution. To one that can take on a bigger challenge. From packaging tape. To tape that can bond materials to buildings. And planes. One idea can unlock a breadth of solutions. At 3m, we are solving problems that improve lives. One idea can unlock a breadth of solutions. Chris coming up, nancy pelosi about to send the articles of impeachment over to the senate. I will send them over when im ready. And that will probably be soon. Chris we will ask our sunday panel what are th chances the senate will call blow a kiss into the sun we need someone to lean on all we needed somebody to lean on we caught a total monster and took them out and that shouldve happened a long time ago. We did it because they were looking to blow up our embassy. We must avoid war. And the cavalier attitude of this administration. I inform you by reading my tweets, that is not the relationship that our founders had in mind. Chris President Trump defending his decision to kill Qassem Soleimani while house Speaker Pelosi criticizes his handling the operation. Editor in chief of the dispatch, fox news political analyst juan williams, former dnc chair Donna Brazile and fox news correspondent julian turner. I think its fair to say theres been a lot of handwringing from democrats that he is in the process of getting us into a war in the middle east but after irans halfhearted missile salvo and then iranian officials saying that they have concluded their response, is it fair to say at least so far, so good . Absolutely i am a trump skeptic but this seems like an unalloyed win for the United States of america, the intended point of this wasnt to start world war iii as a lot of people screamed, it was in fact to end an escalating cycle where iran was more and more using its own forces rather than proxy forces to try to chase us out of the region and if the tradeoff is takinge for some empty barracks, that is a win for the United States. What makes it so perplexing is this guy needed killing a thousand ways from sunday, why did the president feel the need to talk about this when no one else can confirm it, it gets in the way of what i think it is a perfectly solid case on the merits. Chris donna, and i think it is fair to say that the democrats has done a lot of doomsaying, this is going to get us into a war, this was a risky escalation, dont democrats run a risk here when they raise concerns about the killing of one of the worst people on earth when they immediately rush to the floor of the house and now to the senate and demand more powers limitations dont they risk looking like they are weak on National Security . Absolutely not, and heres why. First of all, we have heard four or five different conflicting reasons of the imminent threat to the general appeared to have made towards the United States. No one mourned his death, not a democrat or republican. He was a wretched human being creative problem that democrats have and i think the problem that most americans have is what is the strategy . We knew maximum pressure was to get iran back to the table, that didnt work and now we have a situation where the iraq he Prime Minister is calling upon the United States to begin to figure out the mechanisms to withdraw. Democrats are absolutely right to put a resolution on the floor, we know that since the aumf that is as old as my you know what. We need a new rationale for starting wars and ending wars, being in the middle east. Chris george bush started new wars without getting a new aumf, barack obama took out qaddafi in libya and didnt get an authorization. Congress had already approved of those measures. Chris they didnt approve taking out qaddafi in libya. We can get into libya, congress had already authorized that. We need of new resolution. And if iraq decides to expel u. S. Forces that at the time isis is think it was still a hue bigger question which donna raised which is does this administration have a strategy for dealing with iran and you heard my conversation with the National Security advisor, maximum pressure, more sanctions, bring them to the table but although treasury secretary announced another round of sanctions on friday, we are about sanctioned out and iran is not getting less aggressive, not being more pliable, they are being more aggressive. They have gone after tankers in the persian gulf, they went after the saudi oil facility, nuclear deal. Is there strategy thats going to work . First of all, there was what precipitated the last ten days of this crisis, i think it bears a reminder was and iran sponsored attack on the u. S. Embassy in baghdad. Wasnt the killing of soleimani, and i didnt set this chain of events in motion, it was the attack which according to many defense analysts in of itself constitutes an act of war so i think that bears a reminder for people here. The strategy for the Trump Administration so far with the sanctions has been very successful, widespread consensus that they are working, a lot of analyst describing them as crippling but as you mentioned, the problem now is we are very rapidly reaching the end of their utility as was evidenced on friday when the Trump Administration announces new round of sanctions which were not new sanctions, industries they have already sanctioned in the past. I will say about the nuclear deal lookingor want to say Mission Accomplished and now everything is okay between the u. S. And iran is our Nuclear Scientists, americas best Nuclear Scientists are now predicting seven to 11 months away from developing its own Nuclear Weapons capability. They are closer today and could be even closer if they instead are able to buy components from other countries from other nonstate actors which is still a possibility. Chris it was interesting to me this week and this isnt a new thing but it just continues the degree to which President Trump wants to be the antiobama. His reaction and i think julian is right, the precipitating cause for taking out soleimani was the attack of thembassy, not going to be a benghazi on my watch and he continues to attack President Trumps Iran Nuclear Deal saying president obama, sorry, nuclear deal because it open the spigot and release billions of dollars for them to spread around the middle east. I call this obama derangement syndrome. To me from the racist lies, now being used to fire missiles on americans, the fact is that money was on the frozen as part of the nuclear deal. That is the fact and it was their money. Chris but it was frozen and the point he is making is that it gave a maligned regime more resources. It was their money and what we got out of it was that they agreed to stop development of Nuclear Weaponry. That is the deal that we entered into, it was a containment plan and it was quite effective. Now we are seeing as we move forward, we dont have the leverage of that nuclear deal, the sanctions as you point out repeatedly on the show have not had the effect of slowing iranian aggression. So now we dont have the leverage that came from having them in the nuclear deal. What julian just said about the range of time that they could develop Nuclear Weaponry puts our key ally in the middle east at greater risk. We are not in a position to fight isis or protect oil reserves. All of this at greater risk because of the provocative action without longterm strategy taken by President Trump. Chris we are not going to settle this today and we have to take a break here, but when we come back, now just three weeks from the Iowa Caucuses, the latest on the fastmoving democratic race. I think its ridiculous. She should have sent them a long time ago. It belittles the process, nancy pelosi will go down as the least successful speaker of the house of the history of our nation. Chris President Trump reaction to how Speaker Pelosis announcement she will finally send the articles of impeachment over to the senatee sis week. We are back now with the panel but we ask you for questions and on this question, its pelosi deciding to send over the articles of impeachment. We got this on twitter from an interesting name. Will the senate call relative witnesses of the president s actis fair trial. Did pelosis delay at least put a focus on this issue of whether or not to call witnesses and now you hear that republican senator Susan Collins of maine on exactly that issue whether or not to call witnesses. He would say number one is the spotlight on fairness of the trial. A poll had 74 of republicans saying if you dont have documents and witnesses, this is nothing but a cover rep. That will focus impeachment. On all 15 prior impeachment of federal officials, there have been witnesses and documents. Clinton had witnesses, clinton didnt block other people from testifying but as you point out. They have 53 republicane away aw when suddenly Mitch Mcconnell who is coordinating with the white House Counsel will be in position of having to accept witnesses. Chris what do you make of former National Security advisor john bolton saying if subpoenaed, he will testify and we heard earlier President Trump say he would invoke executive privilege if he did invoke it, but he just ignore it and say what he wanted to say . This to me as one of the more interesting plot lines in the impeachment story. John boltons willingness and aversion into going along with thent points in this process. The president said friday essentially, i will block his testimony not just because of executive privilege but because of National Security concerns and i think for the administration, thats the more powerful line of argument to get at here. With somebody like bolton and unlike somebody like Mick Mulvaney or some other folks. Chris i dont know if you know the answer to this, i understand its an excuse for a witness who wants to take it, but if bolton wants to testify in the president says no, executive privilege, does bolton have to observe that . He will have to rule on it which ironically will give bolton the outcome he has most desired all along which initially filed the lawsuit, the man in the middle choosing between following guidance between congressional regulators and firm the commander in chief. So you all in the courts figure this out and let us know what you want us to do. A whole lot of conspiracy theories surrounding why he is agreeing to do this now. I think it is probably simpler than people imagine. I think its probably because he is going to get the outcome he wanted, he will have to make the decision. Chris meanwhile, the Iowa Caucuses are just three weeks from tomorrow. We are finally getting there. And always reliable, often reliable, new Des Moines Register poll is out this weekend that shows Bernie Sanders back in the lead at 20 of the five points from november with warren and Pete Buttigieg and joe biden all closely bunched as you can see with Pete Buttigieg who was the leader in the previous poll down nine points. Donna, given his lead and that poll, given how well he is doing in New Hampshire and the fact he is the strong leader in fundraising, is Bernie Sanders now the front runner in the democratic race . Two weeks ago, someone said is mayor pete the front runner, four weeks ago. Chris we have to cover t news. And he is the front runner, he is the front runner at this hour. I suspect over the next couple of days especially as we prepare for the next debate, he is going to come under a lot of scrutiny, may be one of the second tier candidates will take a shot at him, not literally but in terms of politically. At the end of the day, we are nowhere close to deciding who the nominee is. I see pluses and minuses in the polls for bernie but i also see joe biden is still the front runner overall in the race. Chris and that brings me to joe biden because the other news, not just that bernie is doing so well, biden in that poll i understand is within the margin of ever was in fourth place for all of his support and he has a lot of support in the Africanamerican Community which would come into place once we get to south carolina. Joe biden the former Vice President , the punitive front runner finishes fourth in iowa, how damaging . This is in a lot of ways for shaping up to me to be really reminiscent of the 2004 carrie dynamic. Large segment of voters likely to beat george w. Bush and another segment is the progressive wing which is their hearts and desires and all the rest. Whats interesting about this time around is moderates versus progressives is actually the africanamerican vote and that seems decisively. I still think biden is in a better place. Chris let me throw another scenario at you, only about a minute left. You could end up with different winners and for early south carolina, for different winners and all of them, wouldnt that set things up at least theoretically perfectly slightly raising in the polls for super tuesday . Its incredible to me but it does look like the stars are aligning for Mike Bloomberg if you are thinking could be go to the point where on super tuesday, 40 of the delegates, his advertising has been overwhelming, he even bought a super bowl ad. The idea to me that he bought a minute on the super bowl, 10 million, it has boosted him down to 6 in the polls, cant participate, just relies on his own. Didnt think i didnt see it but he does have a chance now better than at any point. He may be up in the polls but its about delicates and unless you get a 15 for threshold not only statewide but per congressional district, he gets no delegates. In an open convention . Chris you cannot watch tv and not see those ads. Thank you, panel pair to see you next sunday. Up next, i will be back with a big announcement. To make busin. We built it to help them go beyond.
