Deputies tried to stop the man, just before 6 00 this morning. They pursued him to the community of bloomfield, where they were able to box him in. Officials say the driver fought with deputies, as they tried to arrest him for driving a stolen car. They say they used a taser on him, but he kept fighting. They also tried to use a restraint hold. After deputies got the man in handcuffs, he had a medical emergency. He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His name has not been released. Ktvus Alison Rodriguez tells us, the added Safety Measures that the bell ringers are now taking. Reporter Salvation Army bell ringers have started raising money for the holidays. Reporter a man with a clipboard was posing as a Salvation Army worker when he went up to a volunteer here, and convinced the volunteer to sign, and hand off the kettle, and the thief made off with hundreds of dollars. Investigators in lafayette robbers who they say terrorized a couple in their home. It happened on crestmont drive in a normally quiet, and safe neighborhood. At about 7 30 tuesday night at the height of the storm. Three men wearing hospital masks, one of them armed with a gun entered this home through an open garage door. They pistol whipped a 65year old man who lives there, and tied him and his wife up. Greg wilson lives across the street. Thats really, really upsetting. Reporter the couple went able to free themselves until 11 00 at night. Both were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. They declined to comment about their ordeal. Reporter the porsche didnt go far. The neighbor found the car outside his house, up the street, with the drivers door open. A man was killed by a hit and run driver early this morning in san jose. The victim was found in the road just after 4 15 this morning near foxworthy avenue. A transient man in Santa Clara County is behind bars tonight, charged with assaulting a caltrain conductor. Reporter investigators say the attack happened around 8 15 wednesday morning as the caltrain made its way into santa clara station. The transient man identified as 61yearold delawarey orchid was panhandling in one of the cars. So the train conductor approached him, and the suspect did not have a valid ticket, so he was asked to deboard. At that time, the suspect got aggressive, and ended up fighting the train conductor along with throwing a beverage on him. Reporter gary orchid is charged with assault. The conductor he bit suffered minor injuries, but declined medical treatment. Investigators in texas are trying to determine the cause of a massive explosion at a Chemical Plant that injured three workers, and at least five residents.
