New this morning after midnight, Oakland Police cleared out a protest by homeless activists outside city hall. The tents a gone and protesters are gone and here at the plaza. But the reality is there are Homeless People here a handful who sleep on the steps of the plaza every single night. And some of them were a part of yesterdays protest. We will show you video from last night where in just after midnight to move the people out. All of these protesters were upset over the way the city handled the homeless crisis. Police moved in saying the group violated the curfew. Some people had to be physically carried out. And city workers broke down tents and tossed them into the back of a truck. And roughly a dozen people were seen detained with their hands in zip ties. Protesting because they are a bunch of empty homes and Homeless People and we think people should have homes. Reporter protesters set up tends tents in the plaza on sunday causing it the housing justit village they are either homeless or on the verge of becoming homeless. And they are upset millions have been spent but feel its been used i guess i should say improperly. They criticize the city for saying they spent those that money on tuff sheds and the program and over the past two years, homeless crisis has gotten worse and people have used City Services are now back out on the streets. Reporter good morning. Well, domicodo domes will be scheduled for 8 45. Local and federal authorities are working to track down who is responsible fothat shooting in orinda that killed five people. They could be one step closer with the arrest of 29yearold domico domes. After being arrested thursday on charges of a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition according to the district terne office. Domes is not charged with murder the Sheriff Office says this is all part of the investigation into the orinda shooting. Das office wouldnt go into detail about how he is sek connected to the shooting saying its a sensitive investigation. Arrest came days after five other men were arrested on suspicion of murder. Four were late rear leased when das office didnt think prosecutors had enough evidence to file criminal charges. Its requiring a lot of work by multiple agencies. And we are working closely with the Sheriffs Office in a collaborative manner to see if we could bring the case to a successful close.
