The new plan for shutoffs will now affect 150,000 pg e customers and 18 counties across the state. That includes almost 43,000 customers in napa, solano and lake counties along with part of Sonoma County. And those shutoffs are due to begin at 7 00 this morning. However pg e says later this afternoon Sonoma County will have a second phase of power safety shutoffs beginning at 4 pm. Emergency Officials Say preparing for all of this is getting easier but its taking a toll. It is becoming a machine that we are able to quickly and efficiently put into motion. We are learning more details this morning about exactly what led to that fatal stabbing. We now know the name of the suspect involved. Sources confirm 39yearold jermaine brehm was arrested on suspicion of murder and carjacking. The stabbing happened on a train heading to warm springs about 1 pm yesterday. Sources say the victim was a Good Samaritan who try to stop psps from stealing another riders shoes. Police say the two started to fight and thats when sources say the victim pulled out a knife but brehm took it and allegedly stabbed him with it on the train and hayward killing him. Brehm got off the sale hayward stop and ramp a salesman at elias motors ing a car to a cus when brehm tried to steal the car. Police caught up with brehm a block away on tennyson and arrested him. Bart interim police chief said despite the fatal stabbing passenger should not feel unsafe when writing bart. This is something thats very tragic. Its where on bart. Shortterm rental owners in orinda will get notifications of new rules today after city leaders approved changes in the wake of the deadly halloween shooting at an airbnb. Last night the City Council Unanimously passed a temporary urgency ordinance requiring the host to personally greet guests and remain on the property. Five people were killed and several others heard halloween night at what was advertised on social media as a mansion party. Some residents support the plan but others say it cant be enforced. The risk here is not doing too much. Its doing too little. I would like to see the shortterm rentals banned because, the rules cant be enforced. Of the two draft ordinances on the table last night the Council Approved the one requiring hosts to stay on the property but not in the same building as the guests.
