Lets go back to the desk. Topping our schools today a teenager opened fire on his classmates. Investigators have identified the shooting as a 16yearold boy in Santa Clarita. They say she shot and killed two students. He is listed in Critical Condition this morning and investigators are still looking for a motive. It was probably the scariest moment of my life. I heard two or three shots and then i saw everyone running out. What did you think when that happened. I was just confused. It sounded like a really big balloon pop but way louder. Yesterday, was his 16th birthday. Investigators are now talking to his mother and girlfriend to try to figure out a Motor Vehicle for the shooting. The Santa Clarita shooting victims are being mourned throughout that city. Santa claritas is the Third Largest city in Los Angeles County and the vigil gave people a chance to comfort each other. Its unbelievable. I cant even put into words that this happened in my community. Just why. Why did this happen here. Why did this happen in our close knit community. Why and was he okay. Was there anything we could of done to help him. A former student was planning an even bigger vigil this coming sunday night. The second round of public impeachment hearings in washington d. C. The four murder suspects are being held without bail. The accessory suspect its bail is set at 500,000. The Orinda Police department is being criticized over the way it handleded the case. Law enforcement has put a lot of resources into this investigation. You know. I dont know if theres relief process criminal proceedings with regard to these five individuals. Some residents say it will take more than an arrest to bring them back to a sense of peace. They want the city of orinda to have tougher regulations or even term residents. Soon be back here in the bay area after she was arrested in manhattan. 53yearold shelly brashire has handled finances. Authorities in Santa Clarita still searching for a motive. A 16yearold shot and killed two classmates, wounded three others and then shot himself. Hes still alive but hes in Critical Condition with a head wound. Authorities say the shooter turning 16 yesterday. The entire incident lasted just 16 seconds from the time he pulled out a gun and then shot himself. Governor newsome is blaming the nra and Republican Leaders for holding up efforts on gun control and preventing more mass shootings. But now this will be her first public testimony at the same time, just minutes ago really, the white house released a phone log, a rough transcript of the first telephone call the president had with president zolinski of the ukraine. The second phone call has really become the central focus of this impeachment inquiry. T second phone call. This has already been read into the record. The former embassa expected to talk about a Pressure Campaign and shes already stressing the fact that she was a civil serve ant who served under administrations of both stripes. But she has become one of the central figures in all of this. And she is no doubt going to go on and describe what she described behind closed doors and that are the efforts including from the attorney for President Trump Rudy Giuliani efforts to oust her from her current position excuse me from her former position as embassador to ukraine. The Oakland City Council pred a plan to put a 20 year parcel tax on the march ballot. It will give the city about 21 million a year. The funds will be used to maintain storm water, remove trash and reduce homelessness in city parks. More rvs are parked in the commercial area. At least a dozen rvs are parked along tely road even though there are signs out there with parking restrictions. Business owners say People Living in the rvs started parking there a month ago. And they say customers are staying away. I feel frustrated because it doesnt give a good image to the business. Weve been losing some business ever since they came in i would say. At least 30 . San jose police say they know about the problem that the issue is complicated. The police put 72hour stickers on the rvs but say the rvs move to another part of the city. Cigarette smoking has dropped to an alltime low. 13. 7 of adults smoked a cigarette last year. Since the first Surgeon General race report warned of the first imp indications. But the cdc says cigarette smoking remains the leading cause of preventable disease, and death in the u. S. A former advisor to the u. S. Says lasik should be banned. Laskik surgery should be banned. It should be pulled from the market. He said the agency ignored the data on patients who suffered vision problems after the procedure. As high as 30 . New this morning the express lanes on highway 237 in Silicon Valley are opening to drivers. The express lanes are on the westbound side and will extend to matilda avenue in sunnivale. With the new lanes that means new rules for drivers. The express lanes will begin at 5 00 in the morning and continue at 8 00 at night. Every driver using the express lanes will now be required to have a fastrak transponders. Car poolers and motorcyclists can use the lane for free but they have to use that add justable fastrak toll. The trail on the top of the Richmond Bridge will be open tomorrow. Now the trail will be accessible from the intersection of tuksberry in main street in san rafael. When it opens, pedestrians and bicyclists will be able to cross the bridge without driving for the first time in hii guess ill try over that. Were getting closer to 7 00 and taking a look at 24. Its still doing very well. I would be happy with this commute through lafayette and orinda. Theres some slow traffic through pittsburgh and bay point. But it seems just a little better than normal and if you look at 80, 31minute drive especially with some of the incidents we had earlier. We had some crashes on this commute but its only about a half hour drive and then at the toll plaza you add about 15 minutes. We did have some sort of car fire or encampment fire on right in front of that home depot near the high street exit. Thats been taken care of. Some people are slowing to look at it but the smoke is gone. And if youre driving down the peninsula this morning or up the peninsula i should say and so does thbay commute. 650. It will start to show up and take us into the weekend for better sunny conditions and also warmer conditions.
