They were one year fresh off of championship game. And then, the way that game went, it was a very listless 49ers team that lost to the seahawks that night by a score of 193. And in fact, Richard Sherman making an interception of Colin Kaepernick to pretty much ice that game for the seahawks. But, the biggest thing about that game, that itll be remembered for, what sherman and Russell Wilson having a thanksgiving feast on the 49er logo in the middle of the field. And i will be the setting for this game. It was a great rivalry matchup between these two teams. The seahawks, after that game we talked about, 110 straight against the 49ers. The 49ers then reversed that trend last year when they won a game in overtime the last time these two teams met. But this is the most significant game that these two teams have played in five years. And it should be a rocking house here tonight at levis. Certainly no love lost between these two teams. All right joe, we appreciate it. Well, really, thats what i told stephen a smith. At the 49ers will go to the super bowl. But, you know tonight is a great test because it is monday night football. And you are going up against arrival, the seattle seahawks. And it is up to the 9ers to come out and make that statement. And, it was always something i did on monday night football. You know, only two teams were playing, the entire world was watching, and you wanted to play your best football. So, im looking forward to a very competitive game. And im hoping that the 9ers win this game. Lets talk about some of the players on the field. I mean obviously, a lot of the focus is on jimmy g. A lot of people also looking at the fact that he has really been locked in with his wide receivers. Emmanuel sanders. Who really came over just not that long ago. Are you surprised at how insync they already are . No, not really, because you have got to think of sanders coming over from the denver broncos. You are talking about an experienced receiver. That knows how to read man to man. That knows how to sit down in a zone. And you see that chemistry starting to happen now. You know, the last ball game against arizona, he was targeted so many times and it looks like they had been playing together their entire careers. So, when you got a veteran receiver like that, and jimmy g, also, the running game was that good last ball game against arizona. I noticed him standing in the pocket, with confidence. And assessing exactly what is happening down feel. And, you know making those perfect throws. Jerry, a lot of people looking out for provo titan george hill. He is in question tonight. If he does not play, what type of adjustments you think the 49ers will need to make . He will play. This is a big game. This is monday night football. Right now we are following some developing news in the south bay where an overturned tanker truck is leaking fuel onto highway 101 near gilroy. Skybox up above the scene giving us these live pictures. All the southbound lanes of the freeway are shut down right now, and they will likely remain closed well into tonight. This crash happened about 11 30 this morning on southbound 101 at masten avenue. Just west of coyote lake. The chp says fish and wildlife personnel have been called to the scene. Along with Hazardous Materials crews. The freeway is going to be closed for some time. It is expected to be cleared maybe in the next 46 hours. Now to vallejo tonight where investigators say and off Duty Richmond Police sergeant shot and killed a man near a gas station. Not far from six flags discovery kingdom. It happened about 5 30 last night. We are now learning what might have led up to that deadly encounter. Our primary porter henry lee spoke to the mans mother. The mother of the man who was killed, he joins us now with the latest. Well, richmond and Vallejo Police are not saying what led up to the shooting here at a gas station but Police Sources say the man who was shot and killed brandished a gun. He didnt deserve that. He didnt deserve to die like that. Stephanie babb is devastated after her son was shot and killed by an offDuty Richmond Police sergeant at this gas station in vallejo. I have never been through this. I have a 38yearold son and i am devastated. And i just dont know what i can do. I dont know what to do. Reporter family and friends are even more distressed by reports that the two men had gotten into an argument over a parking space. Either one of them cut each other off. In this parking lot. So, the dispute was all over a parking situation. Over a parking space . There is no remote reason. Reporter it happened just before 5 30 sunday evening at this valero gas station on fairgrounds drive. Thats where the two men crossed paths. One of them was eric, a father of 6, and construction worker. The other i have learned was offDuty Richmond Police Sergeant Virgil thomas. A 23yearold veteran and former president of the Richmond Police union. Sources say reason was also armed with a gun and brandished it to open fire. The mother does not know if her son had a gun. If that is the case, i still think that it still wasnt necessary. Being armed, in and of itself, does not warrant an execution. Reporter family and friends held a prayer circle at the gas station. Among them was this woman, a civil rights attorney with john burriss law firm. She said the Police Sergeant was the main aggressor. When you have a Police Officer who is escalating a parking dispute into a deadly force incident, in a very crowded incident we are very concerned how that cohappen. Reporter now, in a statement the richmond president stated unfortunately when a Police Officer is confronted with a felon armed with a firearm deadly force may be necessary. We ask that you please reserve judgment until the investigation is finished. That investigation being conducted by Vallejo Police and the Solano County da office. Also the Richmond Police department is conducting an internal review. And henry, i can see the gas station there behind you, at a lot of the stores they had security cameras, do we know if what happened last night was in fact caught on video . Reporter yes, i spoke to valero employers, they do have video, that apparently did capture the shooting. Turned over there copy to the lease. I went into a nearby chicken residence, their cameras only faced internally toward the restaurant. All right, at least it will give investigators something to go on. Thank you. San Francisco Police say a body found over the weekend at a golf course was a baby. This is video posted to the citizen app. When that body was discovered on saturday. Officers were called to the Lincoln Golf Course around 2 30 in the afternoon. This case is being investigated by homicide detectives, and the medical examiners office. Police are also trying to locate the mother of that infant. They believe she could be in need of medical attention. Well, a violent assault in San Franciscos chinatown. The ongoing search for suspects who took off in a black suv. The annual veterans day parade here on the streets of san jose. , leader down here are finding a program that will help get homeless vets off the streets. Reporter and guys, the annual veterans day parade wrapped up about a little more than an hour ago here in downtown san jose. The streets are slowly but surely returning to normal. One of the highlights, and successes touted by collaborative groups down here, helping get homeless vets into permanent housing. It is nice just having a you reporter slowed by age and scoliosis, the 66yearold man had been living on san jose streets the past 4 years. It was an unwanted fate for the former navy seaman fourth class who served in vietnam. Now, he rents a room in downtown, due in large part to the efforts of the home first project. To get homeless vets off the street. The guys on my vietnam hat and i started talking to him. He was with home first. He hooked me up with a card, and thats how we got things started. I got this place, they got me a wheelchair. Reporter at san joses annual veterans day parade, city, county, and nonprofit leaders announce the number of homeless vets is on the decline. This marks the first positive steps for the effort that was starting in 2015. The rate at we are is great they are getting pushed out the door. Reporter today, just over 1600 homeless vets have been linked with permanent housing via the all the way home project. And we really worked with the veteran community. And partnered with local veterans in getting the word out. We also, very early on, partnered with landlords. Reporter Officials Say there has been an uphill struggle to convince landlords helping homeless that is a friend of her wisdom, not a headache in the making. This man, signed up for the program, and has had jeff ray living in his in law unit the past three years. I just extended out a helping hand. He has been a great tenant. It took a lot of courage and faith, but my wife has been supportive. We are our brothers keeper. Reporter officials hope others will answer this new call to serve. To help other vets find a welcoming home. We know that many people are out there, its just minutes up. Reporter officials with home per se there are 653 homeless vets still on the streets of san jose. They say they expect that number to gradually decline over the coming years if Current Trends hold. This is like looking down on a river. And then this is the trough. Remember what we are sad we are stuck in this pattern. So, we are stuck in this pattern. So, what that means is more weather like we have been getting. But what it means for these guys is, look at the air coming off the canadian continent. This air coming into the midwest and the plains, it is going to be below freezing in some cases. It is going to just ice those guys. And that for a couple days. But theyre in for a long one, because this pattern is stuck. All of our offshore winds, is going to repeat itself. These guys, are getting hammered. And, the next couple of days you will be seeing in the news, especially with the cold. So, thats how the system works. And we are locked up, they are locked up. We have some aggressive storms moving through, then they do too. It is not always 121, but it is pretty close to that. There is a big ridge of High Pressure. We have got a few clouds out there. Partly cloudy, partly sunny. There was just a little bit of fog. You can see it is kind of offshore winds there. There is a little bit of fog still just offshore. Which is an indication that the winds are not howling. The fog is parked offshore maybe 50 miles, 20 miles, Something Like that. Oh, the chances of it pulling back into the coast tomorrow, i think theres a pretty good possibility of that. Well keep an eye on that for you. And a new court filing, Governor Newsom asked a federal judge to delay approval of the plan. Insisting that that group should get paid before insurers. Under state law, wild fire victims must be fully compensated before insurers can collect on the settlements. San franciscos newly elected District Attorney Chesa Boudin Says he hopes to have a smooth transition into the role following a contentious election. Boudin is a former deputy public defender. He was staunchly opposed by San Francisco mayor london breed and the San Francisco Police Officers association. We talked with boudin this morning during the 9 00. He told us he had a productive meeting with london breed. That the two are looking forward to working together. Boudin also said that he is ready to put the quarrel behind him, and he is already reached out to department leadership. I think the attacks on me throughout this race, and frankly, their history of being on the wrong side of so Many Political issues in San Francisco politics, shows how disconnected the leadership is. From the principles and values that San Francisco voters espoused. Now, im not going to hold a grudge. I look forward to working with them. Ive already reached out to leadership and various Law Enforcement agencies and asked to have a sit down. I want to hear their input. I want to get there input and i want to learn from their experience. We cannot do this alone. Boudin says his mission is to run a victims first District Attorneys office. Meanwhile, the supervisor for the area telling us that police are looking to see if the same group of suspects is responsible for these two crimes. While, there is an increased Police Presence right here. The amateur video is shocking, a group of men wanting a violent attack. In moments, one man is knocked to the ground and stops moving, apparently unconscious. Now, police are looking for the men who raced away from the scene in a darkcolored suv. Supervisor saying he has talked to Police Leadership and the District Attorney elect and says the attack may be linked to another attack on friday night. A violent person matching in front of this bakery on jackson street. The supervisor saying that incident was also captured on video. The car that the perpetrator jumped into, appears to be the same car that the individuals jumped into at this corner that was filmed from up above. Reporter supervisor also providing new details about the chinatown attack. The victims were three men, ages 63, 67, and 68. Despite the violence of the attack, none of them was left with major injuries. Ive seen the same videos that you have seen. How the individuals got roundhouse punched and hit the curb, did not suffer any profound injuries was a miracle. Reporter at portsmouth square today, Community Members let a silent meditation, reflecting on the recent acts of violence. Supporters saying attacks like this have an impact on everyone who lives, works, and visits the city. It doesnt matter which community, and which part of this neighborhood, we are all targeted. S in the area are small, with no living rooms. So, the square functions as a community space. But, this weekends attacks have left many feeling vulnerable. They are worried, where they can go, because they live around here. There is no living room, so even though what happened, they may get scared. But what can you do . Reporter and again, supervisor captain confirming for us that police have video of both of these incidents and strong leads in their investigations. Theyre hoping to make an arrest soon. We mentioned that it was an attempted robbery, were they trying to take things from those victims . Reporter yeah, it started out as a robbery call for san Francisco Police. The suspects were trying to take the cell phones of one of the victims. And then, you saw that video, there were a group of people standing around. This is portsmouth square, there is always a lot of people that are gathered in this area. Some of those bystanders mightve been the victims as well in this case. It is just shocking to everyone here. A lot of people in that neighborhood on edge. We appreciate it, thank you. Well, today, march general manager issued an apology to a passenger who was cited for eating on a station platform. This is video of the interaction. Steve foster of concord said he was eating a breakfast sandwich as a Pleasant Hill station. There are signs at every station that say eating is banned. The gm though says the officer was investigating another call and asked the man to stop eating. He believes the interaction should have ended there. But it did not. The officer eventually cuffed foster, and wrote a 250 citation. Bartz gm said that officers need to read situations like te an independent Police Auditor is conducting an investigation. The San Francisco giants build one of their two high profile front Office Openings today. Hiring scott harris as their net new general manager. Yeah, so its interesting, if you are trying to sell something on instagram, it might be tough. To have the public not have a visual of how many likes you have. But, if youre talking about mental health, young people, they have growing brains. That are very, changing, and changeable. So, the idea that comparison might not be the most healthy. All right, but isnt this more about the content, the photos that young people for instance are seeing on instagram . We are talking about these perfected images, filtered, airbrushed, isnt it more about the content at the end of the day . Then the number of likes . Well, for sure. I mean content is a huge promoter as well. So, particularly, photos that show someones physical features. Or their face. There was actually one study that looked at likes being specifically related to that. I mean, the content, another content is also alcohol and drugs. There are studies about that showing that is linked to greater use. And what we have to wrap up, but this is an interesting thing to point out in all of this. I will still be able to see how many likes a post has. The public might not know, but i can see that. And if the post doesnt do well, that could still have an impact on someone. Absolutely. It is a step in the right direction. As would, hopefully, limiting time for instagram or other social media. Particularly social media that has photographs or images. But yeah, people are going to still see their own photos. And the number of likes on those. And so, it is unclear kind of what effect this will have. Nothing is really well organized. This is a ridge. It is bringing clouds in over the top. These are higher clouds and their wrapping them back around. That is what youre seeing out there now. Well show you that live camera shot of the Golden Gate Bridge, youll see those high clouds spinning around. Giving us some top lighting, or some reflectivity for the sunsets. So, the clouds, theyre going to be out there the next 24 hours or so. Scattered clouds, partly cloudy, partly sunny kind of a deal. And then the coastal fog, they say just patchy. So, the plan today, well, the plan is over. It happened. Today was warmer than yesterday by a few degrees. 78 in fairfield. Fairfield was cooler, but oakland was warmer. Napa was warmer. Half moon bay was 14 degrees warmer. So a warmer day generally. And there was those high clouds. There is a wraparound, see how high they are, because theyre coming up over that ridge. They are fair weather clouds. When you get a ridge like that, ridges dont always have to indicate clear skies. Sometimes you get dirty ridges. That would be referred to when you get the clouds coming over the top. The High Pressure is around though, even though there is cloud. With that around, you do have the opportunity for fog to form. You also have the ability to get temperatures and land on the warm side during the day. That is where we are going, again not tomorrow, 70s. Maybe and 80 like morgan hill, or gilroy. Violence ramped up in hong kong over the weekend where demonstrators have clashed with police. In months of antigovernment erupted to dangerous levels. A man was doused in flammable liquid and set on fire. After he confronted a group of protesters. One person was shot by police. A close range. A confrontation that was caught on video. Both men are said to be in critical condition. They are not doing anything violent.
