This case keptstranger and stranger. What came over the radio sounded like a twocar crash but when officers arrived on the scene they figured out it was a bigger bizarre crime. At 5 47 california Highway Patrol was called out to a 2 vehicle collision on eastbound i80 in oakland near park boulevard. They found one vehicle, a chrysler 300. Reporter three people, two men, and a child they were headed out on a fishing trip when the driver crashed into them. After they pulled over, the man driving the chrysler then stole their toyota highlander. The occupant of chsler 300 exited that vehicle and the highlander advised them they were going to call the police and get a traffic report. When they did that he pulled out a black semiautomatic handgun, unknown caliber at this point. Pointed it at them r the susp forced the two men and child out of the highlander and sped off in their vehicle. The chp said he got off i580 and crashed again. Now he fled the scene on foot and we are not sure where he is at. Reporter officers are continuing to look for the suspect but officers found out there was more to the story. While investigating we found out he carjacked the chrysler earlier in the morning from rich land. Officers are reviewing Surveillance Video from the area. Chp says the suspect is described as a black male adult, appears in his late 20s, early 30s, heavyset, bald. There tip line leading to the whereabouts, 7079174491. How they are okay and chp said it could have been extremely dangerous for them being out there on the highway just standing out there. Because of the time of day that it happened early this morning they said there was not a lot of traffic out there. All right. Thank you very much. Thank you. The police have arrested a man suspected of setting 8 fires. 42yearold man had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Now he faces charges of arson and failure to register as a sex offender. The fire started before 5 00 last night and quickly burned about 10 acres. The firecrews spotted a man who matched a description of a suspicious person near the fires and that led them to him. One firefighter needed medical treatment after being stung by wasps battling the flames. No homes damaged by the fire. President trump went after the governor on twitter accusing him of doing a terrible job of forced management. He threatened to cut federal aid. These are the first remarks since the kincade fire broke out. The governor tweeted back defending his administration saying the fires were the result of extreme weather created by climate change. Cal fire says crews stopped the fire from growing issue the fire has burned more than 77,000 acres, containment now stands at 76 and full containment expected late thursday. Four firefighters hurt and 372 buildings including 175 homes have been destroyed. Sonoma county opening up an Assistance Center tomorrow for people to get back on their feet. It will be opened on wednesday. Hours are 10 00 a. M. Until 7 00 p. M. Agencies will be on hand for issues on insurance, housing and employment. California edison says the equipment may of sparked the maria fire in ventura county. It burned 9400 acres and destroyed 3 structures, it is now 50 contained. In semi valley the easy fire is now 100 contained. One point the flames were threatening the Ronald Reagan president ial library. The fire burned 1800 acres and destroyed 2 structures. So far no word on what caused it. The Sheriffs Office is looking for 2 murder suspects who escaped from jail today. Inmates, both 19, escaped the monterey jail this morning. They had been in jail since last year and awaiting trial. Anyone with information should call the police. The Sheriffs Office says the two should be considered armed and dangerous. Across the nation today, victims of sexual abuse came together to tell their stories, raise awareness and organize for change. All survivors brought together those sexually abused in religious communities, school and College Campuses and in the military and within sports. Victims support groups organized the data saying children deserve to be protected. A vigil was held outside of cathedral of archdiocese which faced several claims. It is about any religious sex abuse, any school sex abuse, any institutional sex abuse. It is about the cover up, boy scouts of america, girl scouts, all of those things are part of todays vigil.
