We see a lot more snow again for areas, especially over the north bay. Right now, the latest readings report areas of the north valley floor, as well as the coastline, unhealthy reported there. The Central Coast as well as areas along the south coast, we are looking at moderate air quality from the coastline to the east bay, and down through the south bay. At this hour, areas over the north bay, areas like santa rosa, stretching toward the coast, all reporting unhealthy air. If you see it and smell it, as you know, avoid it. Close your windows. We are asking some consider masks if you will be out and about. The winds are generally light out there. They are blowing from the north and northwest. That is allowing some smoke to drift in and around areas like windsor and santa rosa, ill do one more shift here, you can see how those winds are pushing the smoke out along the coastline. Perhaps even toward petaluma and nevada. This is what we will see as we get into the next 24 hours or so. Things will shift once again. We have another wind event coming our way by saturday night into sunday, we are looking at winds picking up, and a red flag warning for areas across the bay. We are looking at winds shifting, and 45 Miles Per Hour expected to gust in and around our valley locations, along the coastline, down to the Santa Cruz Mountains. Our bigger story will be over to the north peaks, when winds could hit 80 Miles Per Hour. Pg e is warning people across the bay area they will be in the dark. No power starting tomorrow night. Approximately a half million pg e customers will be affected in the bay area. Pg e says the impacted service will begin tomorrow between 6 pm and 10 am. The blackouts will stretch from humboldt county to the sierras. It appears the ba in Oakland Montclair district, the greek restaurant cucina received a rebel call from pg e friday morning the message, get ready. The call says to get prepared, because they will be shutting down alameda county, power in alameda county, tomorrow starting at 5 pm. Reporter this will be the second time this month, pg es Public Safety power shut off forced the restaurant to temporarily close. It could mean at least another 10,000 in losses. It affects our business, it affects my employees and customers. It affects everything. We still have to pay bills here. Reporter the Restaurant Owner collect as much ice as possible to keep some of the food from spoiling. All of the meat will have to be tossed. If it was one time and they and tried to fix it, it wouldnt be so upsetting. Reporter cole star restaurant has created a blackout fish fry section. These customers were looking for flashlights. They got notified the neighborhood was in the power shut off zone. Reporter the Hardware Store itself will remain open. It has a backup generator. We need to supply the community. We are stocked up on flashlights, batteries, generators, and purifiers. Reporter the blackouts will affect 36 counties including all bay area counties except san francisco. Pg e says it doesnt take the shut off lightly, but the blackouts are necessary to prevent transmission lines or other energized equipment from sparking a wildfire and fierce winds meteorologist say are on the way. The blackouts are expected to last at least 48 hours, which would take us until monday. Pg e scheduled a briefing for 530 this afternoon. Expected to learn more of that. The potential outages extend across the bay area and beyond. In the south bay, this will be the second time residents have lost power this month. Some of those living in the Santa Cruz Mountains may have been caught unaware the first time. Now they are preparing. Reporter still, the place is packed with residents determined to learn from their mistakes. They are getting the things they wish they had during the last outage. For melissa, that means a generator. Last time, i didnt really think it would happen. I had to throw away all of my food. Reporter this time things will be different . I will be more prepared. I wish we did not had to do that. Reporter they also wish pg e would make changes to. When it is for no reason, we got upset. There was no wind at all anywhere in our vicinity last time. Pg e says they are finetuning it, i hope that is true. Reporter tau korea, the most frustrating part is the uncertainty. Will they lose power and have to close this weekend, or get a boost in business like last time, where they were in an oasis of hot food surrounded by neighborhoods in the dark. Here is a look at sunday morning, where you can see winds there, now quite strong over areas in the north bay, especially into our health. We have the east bay health as well as the Santa Cruz Mountains included this morning. Here is sunday night, and the winds are still blowing. It doesnt look quite strong. It is not expected to expire until early monday morning. Fire danger is increasing, eating until a saturday, lasting into early monday morning. For our northbay health, we can see winds anywhere from 75 to 80 Miles Per Hour. Those are damaging winds. In our valleys, we could see winds anywhere from 3040 Miles Per Hour. It is going to be a strong event. Here is a look at whats going on right now. You talked about in the earlier part of the show, we do have air quality over areas of the northbay. It just has to do with the winds not only coming down a bit, but shifting a bit. Still very warm and dry out there. The winds are not as strong. That will change as we get into tomorrow. A look at the afternoon highs. Outside our doors we have mid 80s in san francisco. In the northbay, low 90s in santa rosa, in the little more thanto mid50s to start our day. As we get into the afternoon, temperatures are not quite as warm as where we have been.
