There is a crash on 101, Mountain View at shoreline blocking lanes and off to the side but slow traffic is coming through. That deadly crash in San Francisco, the reporter, Cristina Rendon, is there following the crash. The lanes have open . Reporter it was reopening of the northbound s but you can see southbound lanes of 101 and on the opposite side, traffic is moving freely and that is the northbound lanes in both, it appears, both directions, are fully reopened. Southbound was never close but northbound was. Chp confirmed all lanes were open and it appears that they are. The deadly accident shut down at least three lanes of northbound 101 within the last hour or two and when it initially happen, the entire freeway northbound had been shut down and it started about 12 30 last night or early this morning. There was a woman and a silver vw sedan that appeared to be driving the wrong way on northbound 101 and chp said she hit a taxi nearly headon in the driver of the taxi was carrying two passengers and unfortunately, no one survived the crash. The woman who died in the sedan was in her 30s and the taxi driver was a man in his 60s and its not clear the ages or identities of the two passengers he was carrying. One of the taxi drivers from the same company showed up on the scene early to figure out what happened. Im feeling bad when i saw that taxi with the people on the floor. I said, oh my god. Thats my company. Reporter the woman said she feels terrible for everyone involved and the chp is investigating whether drugs or alcohol played a factor and whether everyone was wearing their seatbelt. One of the passengers was ejected in the crash. Chp was able to spot the accident because an officer was driving on northbound 101 and pass the accident and when they looked, they saw that there was calls from people who reported seeing the wrong way driver near 101 and 280. Its all still under investigation and all lanes of northbound 101 appear to have been reopened within the last five minutes and that is good news for the commute. There is no reason to ever leave a child unattended in a car, especially with the car running. The chp said a woman going southbound in a volkswagen in the northbound lanes hit a taxi head on. The taxi driver was described as a man in his 60s and had two passengers in the vehicle that were killed, as well as the wrong way driver. Investigators are in connecticut looking into the crash yesterday of a retired world war ii plane. Seven people were killed and several other passengers and people on the ground were hurt. One officer was driving through when they saw the accident and they believed a woman and a silver vw sedan was driving the wrong way near candlestick and she crashed into a taxicab nearly headon and died at the scene. The driver was killed and his two passengers in the back seat also died. Its not clear why she was driving the wrong way but they said she had been spotted on northbound 101 near the 280 interchange and it appeared the cab driver was working for a Company Called National Taxi and they said one of the drivers stopped by to try to figure out what happened.
