There was no injuries involved with that. The driver of the Truck Tractor was transported for minor injuries. What should drivers snow where is this closure . In place. We put an issue very early. We issued an alert. Anybody is trying to get to the maze is going to have a difficult time. Those lanes are a lot shorter and they are going to have to traverse the city streets to jump back on to the freeway. We recommend taking Public Transportation such as bart or suck an alternate route this morning because we do believer this will affect the morning commute well into several hours. A big rig carrying live chickensover turned on westbound 80 at San Pablo Dam road. Ktvu. You have been talking to chp. It is a complete mess out there. Have they been able to get all those chickens that were wandering in the road . You there are firefighters climbing up the hill. You can see a firefighter right there carrying one of those live chickens off. We do know that animal control has arrived at the scene. They are trying to get all of the animals get them to animal control so thaw can get the care they need. It is actually a pretty sad scene. Somewhere seen injured chickens. Some of them seemed to be okay. Most of them died when the big rig that was carrying cages of live chickens overturned and caught on fire early this morning. That happened just after 3 30. And when we arrived on the scene, the truck was still smoking. What we know happened is that the with the driver of that second car. What he had to say. I saw him jackknifing, and then i saw fire, smoke. My airbags went off and i had control of his car. I couldnt see anything else because the airbags went off. That driver told me he feels lucky to be alive. What we know is that this truck was carrying probably hundreds of live chickens just by what i am looking at this morning. Of turned, caught on fire. Fully engulfed. We have seen roughly maybe 50 or so walk ago long the fleeway. We are told they actually made it to the eastbound lanes of traffic as well. And it appears these cheating allegations may be directly related to that statistic. Now, student who is fail a class have the opportunity to retake that class online using a system from a Company Called apex learning. At the heart of the allegation, some students and administrators are accused of going into that system of changing grades from pass to fail by boosting scores on tests. Now, the motivation behind this could be to improve the schools graduation rate. The Oakland Unified School district has issued a statement saying we have not found any everyday of wrongdoing, but were looking into it. And we will learn more specifics on that this afternoon. That is because the district is holding a News Conference at 1 30 and there is a possibility thatted administrators will announce they are going to be hiring an outside investigator to look into how the district is using that online system. Now, for the moment, this issue was focused only on castlemont high school. But as we know, there are many other high schools in oakland, so we will have to see if these allegations are isolated or if this will spread to other schools as well. The current law only allows immediate family and Law Enforcement to ask for a gun restraining order. The measure now goes to the state assembly. California has a ban on fur trapping. The governor signing the bill into law yesterday, so that means it is now illegal to trap animals for recreational rerecreation or to sell the animals fur, but it is still legal to trap animals for other reasons like pest control. State lawmakers have also been working on legislation to ban the sale of fur products here in california. Californias tougher school. The bill is designed to crack down on doctors whether or not provide fraudulent medical exceptions for vaccinations. It would allow state legislate officials to investigate doctors who grant more than five medical exceptions a year. The officials would also be able to investigate schools with vaccination rates of less than 95 . The goal here is to limit the spread of preventable diseases like the measles. A new effort to help homeless people. 4000 of the nearly 18,000 livering on the streets have a history offer is serious me Mental Illness and chronic substance abuse. The goal is to keep them out of city jails and Emergency Rooms and get them the care they need. It is not inhumane to humane to continue to allow this to occur on our streets. That is why we have to move forward with a number of initiatives to help address this. The city says this will be the first step in a longterm plan that they still have is to work out. The city has about 06 million she can use over the next two years to help thes to help address the citys homeless crisis.
