Many people who were against the drivethrough showed up to city hall to let city leaders and developers know they wont stop fighting. The plan is to put the restaurant in the downtown aver at Second Avenue and north main, but people from the larkey park neighborhood say they are not just against amys being built in the area. They are against any drive through being built near their home. The larkey park neighborhood united and fought this same developer before. There are plans to build an in and out drivethrough two years ago in the same spot, but those plans were squashed. They say the area is already a traffic nightmary and a new drivethrough would make it worse. These residential streets t they dead end. This is the only controlled intersection that people who live here with use to come in and out of it. We felt overwhelmingly a lot of support from walnut creek, but certainly there are a few neighbors that have some real concerns. We have been trying our best to listen to them and do our best to address those concerns. Reporter the meeting lasted more than three hours, and now the developers are waiting for approval from the planning commission.
