He had a lot of passions in life, and share them with his family, and so they were planning on doing a great vacation. Chan taught physics at American High School in fremont for the past two years. The students and staff were incomplete shock when we heard of the news. Classes just started last wednesday, and news of the teachers death after the Labor Day Weekend was upsetting to many on campus. So we have counselors on site, we have the ability for people to to eacher and share their grief. Many of the closeknit community are struggling to come to terms with what happened. The community is in total shock, being such a small group, and that many divers, taken out all at once is a tragedy. Charles is the manager of pacific scuba divers in sunnyvale and a dive instructor. He said he believes to regulars of his, father and daughter, died in the tragedy. They are very experienced divers come in here on a regular basis, been diving for years in this area. And i believe they go down to Southern California and do those Channel Island trips at least once or twice a year. He says hes been on the boat involved in a tragedy. Ive equated the bunk room to something similar youd see on a train. He said the victims may not have known what was happening. Most divers, they were have been diving for five times a day, by the time they go to bed, they are tired. So, i honestly think most of them probably didnt even know what was going on. Dorian was a massive category five storm when it made landfall with wind gusts up to 200 miles an hour or more. Experts say dorian was one of the strongest arms that ever made landfall in that part of the atlantic. Just minutes ago the Prime Minister of the bahamas said the death toll has gone from five to seven. Dorian has weakened to a category two and turned to the north. Those pictures, i got reports last night we saw reports coming in where the walmart, a lot of the island was under water completely they sat over the islands for 12 or more hours per the airport was underwater, this is as devastating an event as you can have in a community. Even though there is some stuff coming out now, its going to take a while to sort through what happened. I can imagine that strongest storm weve ever been in in the bay area, imagine sitting in it for 24 hours, hammering winds of 180 miles an hour. There were some reports of 200. Its a storm surge thing as well, but the ocean will get very startup, you will see a lot of ocean moving in to these river mouths, and cause inland flooding, so the storm will keep giving, it will last probably through thursday, and maybe friday on the eastern seaboard. Hasnt made landfall, but i think in some ways its worse that its going up the coast like this, because its covering a lot of miles of coastline. Weve seen the bahamas, now we will see more of this kind of activity as it moves up the coast. It looks like it could make landfall as we make it towards the end of the week. The landlord is required to pay moving costs in this instance, the city can step in and make the landlord pay those costs per according to the city of richmond program, it could take up to 90 days before chavez learns whether or not she will receive any of that money.
