They need to be out of there by this morning on tuesday or monday morning. Because after that it will be just uncertain on how much damage this storm is going to do. And he was just pension hadding this storm, slowing down a lot, but the problem with that and the National Hurricane is warning people. That it is still expected to pack a really big punch. Dorian makes landfall twice in the northern bahamas. Its expected to dump up to two feet of rain in the northern bahamas as they say the lifethreatening storm surge could raise the water levels. Potentially destroying parts of the island nation. Some areas, they could not tell the difference. As to the beginning of the streets. And the ocean will begin. The slow moving system, expected to pass over the bahamas by monday afternoon before heading north. Florida, the carolinas, parts of georgia are on high alert. Whether and it seems to be one of the biggest hurricanes that we have ever seen. And that is a problem. And we are encouraging everyone to be dill janet. And to alyana gomez tension and get prepared now. Stocking shelters with food and water ahead of dorians arrival. Evacuating patients as they inch closer towards the southeastern u. S. Hundreds of power trucks are prepared to help with outages. The storm preparations, bringing in people from across the country who are ready to lend a hand. And can they give it back to other peoples communities . And hurricane watches and warnings in effect all up and down floridas east coast where we are here in Daytona Beach under a hurricane watch just 60 miles south. Theyre under a hurricane warning. All over the Sunshine State airport schools, businesses, all closing this week and ahead of the storm here in Daytona Beach. Its kind of a mix on people preparing for this and some of the businesses that boarded up for days. Others say they are hoping dorian will skip here taking a risk. Andre . And im curious, lauren. Being a floridian myself years ago. People usually, they are not overly worried if its a category 3 or lower. Perhaps if you get the sense that they are taking this more seriously th some of the folks youve spoken with. It is just like the businesses here in a mix of preparedness. Folks are kind of the same. We talked to folks who were hanging around basically the only restaurant open downtown. Some were saying this is just a part of living in florida. You have to cover the windows, make sure you got some sandbags. Another gal i spoke with said this had one feels different. And so same thing, places, the restaurants around here, talking with bartenders. Waitresses, waiters. They are saying, you know, theyre preparing and they are hoping that monday, tuesday, that businesses, they will be closed, but hoping by wednesday, things could open back up. But at this point, it is so unpredictable that we just dont know how badly this area will get hit. And they need to take precautions either way, reporting for Daytona Beach to this day now and red cross crews from california, standing by to help them deal with the fallout from dorian. Shes with the san joaquin charter or the charter of the red cross and used to helping out during the wild fires here in california. Shes now in jacksonville, florida. Volunteering for hurricane assistance. After a stable shelter where people will be able to go to start the recovery process. The people of west texas held a vigil tonight to grieve together one day after a mass shooting left seven people dead and 22 others wounded. Residents of odessa and midland are all affected by the tragedy. The gunman shooting spree took place on a highway in between those two towns. We are standing strong together and we will continue to stay strong together because we really see all of them around the community and they have always acted in work that way. A postal worker, a 15year old girl, and a father of two are among the seven people who were killed. And a 17monthold baby girl is among those wounded. The shooter opened fire on drivers and police while leading officers on the high speed chase. Authorities say he had just been fired from his trucking job. As fox news tells us, the violence came to an end when police shot and killed the gunman. And the 15 crime scenes were left in the wake of yesterdays shooting. Thats according to the Odessa PoliceDepartment Law enforcement telling us they still have no motive, no reason, fog yet. At a News Conference this afternoon, police say while they have the identity of the suspect who were killed by police, they would not name him. So its not to give him notoriety. Odessa police say he is a white mail in his 30s. Authorities, they say he shot a texas state trooper as he was being pulled over for not using a turn signal. Then he took off 20 miles west to odessa where the shooting continued. Eventually stole a mail truck and rammed into cop cars before they killed them. Just an update on the trooper shot yesterday and the grace of god that you would survive the shooting if you went through a couple of hours in surgery yesterday. Doctors were very optimistic he could have a recovery, a full recovery after doing a road ahead of some rehabilitation. The day before this latest shooting, Texas Governor greg abbott held his first Domestic Terrorism Task force to address this particular kind of violence. He convened that task force after 22 people were killed at a walmart just last month. Im heartbroken. By the crying and the people in the state of texas, im tired of the dying of the people in the state of texas. Too many texans are in mourning. Too many texans have lost their lives. The status quo in texas is unacceptable. Tonight there is a vigil being held in odessa for this city as well as those in midland texas. In odessa, fox news. New information tonight about a minor Traffic Violation that turned into a man hunt at Oaklands International airport today. A sheriff deputy tried to pull the suspect over, but Authorities Say he would not stop and drove through an airport gate and right onto the tarmac. Ktvus greg liggott joins us. Reporter had is a very bizarre story that began around noon. A sheriff deputy on patrol trying to make a simple traffic stop and thats when things took a strange ahead. The normal buzz when they saw a fourhad wheeldrive chevy pickup run through a spotlight. He decided to see what was going on with that vehicle. That vehicle took off in a high rate of speed. Reporter that pursuit eventually came down this utility road where the driver of the truck ended up smashing through the gate at about 58 miles per hour. After crashing through the gate the driver continued down the road more than half a pile into the area of the runways, eventually jumped out of the runway and went off. Authorities used choppers, drones, boats, k9s to search for the suspect. They picked up a truck into the fridged waters of the bay. But after two hours, still no suspect. Were kind of in a recovery mode as to where this person is at. And as we know that water is very cold. Most people will not survive in there for more than 20 to 30 minutes. Authorities found a few air pistols, hoods, masks inside the truck, but nothing illegal. And that truck is registered to an individual. During the search a few commercial planes were diverted here to the north executive field. Otherwise it was business as usual at the main terminal. Searchers kept an eye on the bay into the evening with no sign of the suspect. If you had to do a search, this is the area you would want to do a search in. It is very open. This will likely become a recovery mission. The fbi will be taking over the investigation yeah the search for the person and motive continues tonight. Six people were rescued after their boat capsized off the coast of davenport in santa cruz county. The coast guard said they received several 911 calls around 11 15 this morning about a 21foot Recreational Boat taking on water. The boat capsized around 11 40. Several side shows broke out in the east bay. How one Police Department arrested more than 70 people and the side show crash downs that are happening tonight. The Israeli Military retaliated. More fighting between israel and the military group as they escalated in recent weeks. Hezbollah fired three guided missiles into israel today hitting the army base and the military ambulance. Confirming the attacks, saying no casualties were suffered by the forces. Smoke could be seen billowing up on sunday afternoon along the border. Leaving the israelis to tell them living nearby to open bomb shelters. A woman who was a passenger in that car was not hurt and the chp said alcohol was not a factor in that crash. New at 11 00, Police Arrested 71 people at a side show last night in antioch. Officers arrived at the Town Center Parking lot and found nearly 100 vehicles and more than 150 spectators. There was another crowd near wilber avenue. Last fights crackdown was a coordinated effort that included officers from antioch, oakley, and the chp. The oakland Police Department is also cracking down on illegal side shows this holiday weekend. Extra officers are taking a zero tolerance approach for the illegal side shows, making an arrest and towing cars. Additional pli police are assisting oakland in a disruptive side show. We will be assisting the ground units and the apprehension of any illegal side show activity. What we will do is we will observe the violating vehicles on the ground levels to the violating levels to get them stopped, cited, towed. But they will beef up patrols to work with the city council, neighboring cities, and Law Enforcement partners to find longterm solutions to illegal side shows. Despite the crackdowns, side shows were open this morning breaking up a side show involving some 100 cars near 54th avenue and special national boulevard at about 12 45 this morning. Then an hour later nearly 50 cars revved up for another side show. Again Police Quickly moved in and cleared the area. Oakland Police Issued ten traffic citations, made one arrest, and towed four cars. Officers, they were assisted by the Alameda CountySheriffs Office and the california highway patrol. Danny glover plans to join unions for those protesting in work tomorrow. This comes ahead of a possible strike in early october of more than 80,000 kaiser employees. They will speak at the protest at Moss Wood Park before workers head to a nearby kaiser headquarters. There they plan to block an intersection near the facility. And releasing a statement saying they have a long and productive history with organized labor. All right, a quick look at dorian real quick. It will be the story for pretty much this week as we would go through the next 72 hours. Most certainly beyond that. Watching near the bahamas and sustained winds will be dod. Thats the category 4 and 3 and a big difference that this storm is just a big strong storm. Whether it will be a two, three, the other thing, so to get across the bahamas, jogging across. And it seems to be a slow hoover as you look at monday afternoon. And it will be through parts of florida on the category side. Coming inside and to do Something Like these two lines. And specifically the yellow in that blue line. If it does that on the left side of those tracks, these are the spaghetti plot and the number of computer models, right . These are the solutions. If it does the left side, big trouble. And a good chance that it could do the left side and why the evacuations are occurring and why georgia had vowed to put up mandatory evacuations for the island and some of the low lying areas. Well keep an eye on it for you. And it will be the story perhaps of the year if it kicks out the left track. And so the forecast, for tomorrow, it will be a lot like today and slightly cooler with fog at the coast. Very little, but not in the city. Kind of mild in the city. 60s in the city. Mild night out there, fog wants to come back to the coast, but its sparse. The forecast highs tomorrow, just like today. But slightly cooler instead of 97. Like we saw in some places. The warm spots will be 93, 94. Then the general trend, starting tomorrow will be the slow cooling. And that means the hot spots, not in the 90s as they will be tomorrow in the hot spots, but by tuesday and wednesday, we are looking at 80s, mid80s, upper 80s, pretty mild for this time of the year.
