The El Cerrito PoliceDepartment Says the San FranciscoPolice Officer is okay. The person he shot was taken to the hospital. The gunshot wound is non life threatening. The shooting happened 10 00 on moser lane. Calls came in about a shooting in two locations one a nearby gym and one in front of an apartment complex. The man was found in front of the apartment complex on a sidewalk. Police captain wouldnt say if there was a breakin or robbery situation. The man shot had a weapon. It wasnt a gun but they did not specify. We dont know if the officer fired his Service Weapon or if lives in the area. We dont have details about what led up to the shooting. Many different agencies are involved in this investigation. This will be a protocol case , the Contra Costa District Attorneys Office will be involved on the way to the scene as well as people from the involved Persons Department in route as well. They started freaking out. We told them we are playing hide and seek. Tried to keep them calm. The Police Rushed in but found no signs of shots fired. They did find a Jewelry Store with several smashed glass cases and believe when the people heard the shattering glass they assume it was gun shots. No one was seriously hurt. Milpitas police are checking mall security videos to help track down the suspects. Modesto, Police Searching for possible connections between the milpitas robbery and a milar smash and grab at vintage fair mall three hours earlier. The noise from glass smashing led to reports of an active shooter. Four men using a sledge hammer smashed the glass cases a at Jewelry Store and there were no guns. You can see the robbers on the surveillance cameras here. A few minor injuries were reported as people were running from the loud noises. No one had to go to the hospital and so far there are no arrests in either case. Police are investigating a stabbing outside of a bar in west oak land. The drive of a Jeep Wrangler lost control and overturned near the center median. The driven was taken to the hospital. Their condition has not been released. One lane of interstate 380 was closed while chp processed the scene. A headon crash this brentwood left a drive dead and another one hurt. It happened yesterday morning just before 9 00 on ballforroad road. A man crossed over the double yellow line. The drive he tried to pass described what happened seconds before that deadly crash.
