I just got off the phone with hospital staff a while ago. They will have an update for us on the condition of those who were hospitalized following the shooting a little bit later. You have a moments notice you have to be able to make a determination and you have to be able to return fire. This is all within a very small distance. There are bystanders and vendors. That is a very difficult thing for someone to do. We see people running and taking cover. Some of these videos we hear a pause and we hear gunfire. How do we read that . We hear from the ittetw feed there is no question people thought it was fireworks. Then you can hear multiple rounds of fire. All of this took place within a minute. Thankfully the officer was there. Can we imagine what it have been like in the officer not been the . You can think about the fact that they stopped it quickly. What could have been the aftermath. They were able to get the shooting victims to the hospital. They had eight folks that were transported. The police have swarmed into a neighborhood and they are moving into the house. Once they found out they knew who the suspect was even as of last night they were processing. They are also going through social media fees, so from records and etc. Trying to figure out who this individual affiliated with. This is at the third day of the garlic festival and it was just about an. There were a number of offduty Police Officers attending and Gilroy Police were on duty. The police chief says that is why officers were able to confront the gunman within a minute of the shooting being reported. The gunman was shot and killed by police. In the latest update overnight police said the Investigation Continues. Theyre looking into reports that the gunman may have had help from a seconds possible suspect. We are also asking for any witnesses. There was a number of people in the park.
