We have new information on a fire in oakland that burned a building that was under construction. It started just before 10 00 last night at stanford avenue and occidental street. I want to show you video that was posted on twitter, shows the flames, the firefighting response. They were able to quickly get that fire out and keep it from spreading. No one was hurt. And firefighters say its too early to know if it was arson. There was smoke and fire showing. So they quickly went into fire tech, saw the water. Initially from the interior. And due to the structural instability, it is under construction. And also, there were some visible signs of visibility. Then we regressed it outside the structure and continued applying water. Neighbors say the building had been under construction for at least the past few months. There have been at least three construction fires on the oaklandemeryville border in the past few years. Now, a ktof the building, a little only fly drones a safe distance away from active fire and crime scenes. Never while active air operations are under way. Our time now, 4 03. After a ktvu report, the dow family will not get a ticket, after all four of their tires were stolen from their parked car on streetsweeping day. Tuesday morning, they woke up. They found out the wheels on their Toyota Corolla were stolen, gone. The car was being propped up by milk crates. Then things got worse. An hour later, a parking attendant gave the dalles a 79 street cleaning. I was livid. I was completely livid when i walked outside. I was carrying my son and holding a backpack and trying to call my husband while i chased my child up and down the street. I cant believe that. A toyota dealership lent the family four wheels so their car could be towed. Now, the dalles are going to have to pay the 1,000 deductible on that 5,000 repair job. We requested the ticket be adjudicated and the Vehicle Owner will not need to do any further action. We have all of the necessary details and documentation to dismiss the citation. In san jose, a project is in the works to build more Affordable Housing for people with disabilities. Dozens of people attended a meeting last night about the kelsey air station. Its a proposal to demolish an air station and build a sixstory building with 115 new apartments. That would include units for adults designed with disabilities. Special features include a building designed with enough room for people who use wheelchairs and two fulltime livein support staff. Its huge housing that is often lost. That this population of individuals is not served in the market rate or Affordable Housing. People with disabilities, i feel are underrepresented. Just things in general. To build a project, the nonprofit has been awarded an 11 million grant from the city of san jose. The rest of the funding will come from tax credits and private donations.
