We saw democrats go through and run down the list of potential acts that could have been obstruction of justice. It did not lead to any charges for the sitting president. With that being said, all of that laid bare on national tv today, was this damaging for President Trump . To the extent for people that dont know whats going on who watched it and became enraged, maybe that is a call to action. And talking to people back east they did not here a whole lot new. A lot of folks havent read that report. If they watched. It was finding people and watching any part of that five hours a day. If they did, they heard things they were not aware of and it should be troubling. It seems as those republicans went in with a strategy and they stuck to that strategy. The democrats sticking to their strategy to build this collective damning narrative against President Trump and his possible obstruction of justice. The special counsel made neither a prosecution decision or a definition of the decision you made no decision and you told us this morning and your report you made no determination so respectfully you did not follow the special counsel regulations. Okay. You did not do your job. And for republicans they were hoping to get out of here without a wild moment by democrats or a gotcha that laid bare some other issues. I think of people were watching the testimony today, i dont want to say they felt sorry for bob mueller but he wasnt on his game. A lot of people talked about that. A couple hundred times he couldnt give specific sightings for why he was saying something. I do not know that that inspire confidence in the report. And he had to walk back a couple of statements as well. I do not know that his performance will be received very well. He is 75 on august 7. That should not play into it entirely, but we talked about democrats trying to drill down on this obstruction of justice. There was an exchange where a lawmaker asked mr. Mueller if he could be charged with a crime after an office and he said yes. This is kind of testimony move the needle for democrats in terms of the issue of impeachment . Two things. If you can make the case that we have to deal with this now as opposed to later, they went on to talk about the amount of time that would pass it in the terms of statute of limitations. Suggesting that perhaps the sole motive for reelection is to get beyond the statute of limitations. These are legal questions that will be debated. Will democrats get on board with that . We will see. They are trying to figure out how many people will talk about impeachment at this point. It was clear to me at least that Robert Mueller did not want to engage in this dramatization of this report. He was not going to make the case for democrats. I think there were times when i watch mueller step outside of his report to continue to remind the American People that this is serious and what the russians did was there yes. We think trump is a problem but what is the learning . He talked today about a bill that would require campaigns to divulge whether they have been in contact with foreign governments. I think that is a proactive step. If we want to learn anything here, then we need to learn that there are nations that have it out for us. China, north korea, and we will see those countries in the mix in 2020. It offered another dire warning. It is happening right now. The department defending itself against the charges that several officers violated that person civil rights. Attorney say the officers in question filed false Police Reports and did not reveal the use of force during the arrest. We are live in downtown san jose put more and how the department is responding. Alvarez was dropped after a superior court judge ruled police did not have reasonable suspicion to make the initial traffic stop and everything that followed be on that. Mr. Alvarez attorney said police violated his clients Fourth Amendment rights against illegal search and seizure. It is aimed at deterring this type of unlawful behavior this dishonest behavior by the police. Reporter the attorney lays out hundreds of pages of evidence he says proves the four Palo Alto Police officers are unfit to wear a badge. The case centers on this home video of the arrest of mr. Alvarez. The officer tried to conduct a traffic stop because according to the report, the subject is not to have a suspended drivers license. The suspect was seen driving in the roadway. Audio from the Surveillance Video. Why are you shaking me down . Alvarez makes a hand gesture. The officer calls and backup. Several officers return demanding he surrender. Sergeant wayne but need test kicks down the door and grabs the suspect and throws him onto the hood of a car. The report says officers moved to make an arrest and since officers had two on few charges against him. Driving on a suspended license and resisting arrest. They said they put him on the hood of his car where he was handcuffed. Know whether force was used. But the Surveillance Video shows officers punching alvarez and also slamming him face first into the cars windshield. Youre going to be bleeding a whole lot. Not a single officer reported this incident properly. Not a single officer in here to the written policy and informed her superiors of use of force. The unlawful acts by the sergeant were specifically omitted from the report. They were omitted from the other officers report. He has a civil rights lawsuit claiming officers deprived alvarez of his Fourth Amendment rights against unlawful search and seizure. Palo alto police referred us to the city manager for comment. The Police Department has procedures to investigate allegations of misconduct and to hold officers accountable.
